Too late for me. I have gin (Not BS though ) but no tonic... it's after 10pm, and I'm half way through a bottle of Chardonnay.

Edit: Big thanks to our last donor of L$2,500. This is why I love SL. We are funded now for almost 2 weeks.

Edit Edit: Oh, and the newbies are keeping the tree nicely pruned. We have given out a few hundred Lindens now. Newbies take note: from my experience this will slowly fade from the spotlight over the next few days and the tree will fill with huge amounts of cash. Swing by, check the ground, fruit and bills drop after 24 hours.

OK. The code is looking solid. I need 3 brave volunteers to test out their own money trees for a couple days. All you need is a plot of land with let's say around 50 free prims and some spare Lindens to give away. You can reply here or IM me (though I am often AFK, so don't expect an immediate reply).

OK, Money Tree is at Mocha (29,132) at ground level. And, just for kicks, it's a Linden Tree...
(as opposed to just a Linden-Supplied tree).

This will be helpful to new residents.

While these are being tested, I thought I would share a concept on how newbies can keep track of all the money trees in the world.

When each new tree is rezzed, the owner puts their own landmark in their tree. Now there will be a button on each tree that reads "Click here for a landmark to the next Money Tree". Through the magic of object-to-object email and llGiveInventory being able to send across sims, the newbie will receive a landmark for the next tree in the virtual ring. So, just like a webring, the newbie can go to a tree, pick the fruit, click on a button for a landmark to the next tree and so on. Basically you would get a train of newbies travelling in a circle from tree to tree.

All of the mechanics would be transparent to the owner and newbies. I would coordinate it through a master tree that might also aggregate and display global statistics like:


Each owner would still manage their own funds, this would be purely for landmark and statistics purposes.

there's now a tree location in alua (80,10) just north of the muhala telehub. easy to get to; not overly loaded with cash yet if y'all can spare a linden a two.

i'm going to donate five percent of seasons of fate's daily income to it over the next month. but others are of course welcome to donate as well.

Thanks to all you testers. I just checked all the trees. I found one bug so far. The owners name should show up automatically after "Sponsored By:". I'll fix that.

Quite a bit of cash sitting out there right now. Send those newbies some landmarks. One tree has not been discovered at all and is about to start dropping leaves.

I'm going to make finding these a lot easier. Details to follow.
