My kids and I have had many a nice time singing along to the song below and acting out the actions, ripping our hearts out and stomping on them with glee. *One More Minute* by "Weird" Al Yankovic Well I heard that you’re leavin’ (leavin’) gonna leave me far behind (so far behind). Cause you found a brand new lover, you decided that I’m not your kind. So I pulled (I pulled) your name out (name out) of my Rolodex, and I tore all your pictures in two. And I burned down the malt shop where we used to go, just because it reminds me of you. That’s right (that’s right), you ain’t gonna see me cryin’, I’m glad (I’m glad) that you found somebody new. Cause I’d rather spend eternity eating shards of broken glass than spend one more minute with you. I guess I might seem kinda bitter, you got me feeling down in the dumps. Cause I’m stranded all alone in the gas station of love and I have to use the self-service pumps. Oh, so honey, let me help you with that suitcase, you ain’t (you ain’t) gonna break my heart in two. Cause I’d rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face than spend one more minute with you. I’d rather rip out my intestines with a fork than watch you going out with other men. I’d rather slam my fingers in a door again and again and again and again and again. Oh, can’t you see what I’m tryin’ to say, darlin. I’d rather have my blood sucked out by leeches (leeches), shove an ice pick under a toenail or two. I’d rather clean all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station with my tongue than spend one more minute with you. Yes, I’d rather jump naked on a huge pile of thumbtacks or stick my nostrils together with crazy glue. I’d rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double-edged razor blades than spend one more minute with you. I’d rather rip my heart out of my ribcage with my bare hands and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it till I die than spend one more minute with you.

"Affirmation"
I believe the sun should never set upon an argument I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do I believe that beauty magazines promote low self-esteem I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality I believe that trust is more important than monogamy I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul I believe that family is worth more than money or gold I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists I believe in love surviving death into eternity
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I like this "I Believe" too, by R.E.M.
I Believe
When I was young and full of grace and spirited a rattlesnake. When I was young and fever fell My spirit, I will not tell You're on your honor not to tell
I believe in coyotes and time as an abstract Explain the change, the difference between What you want and what you need, there's the key, Your adventure for today, what do you do Between the horns of the day?
I believe my shirt is wearing thin And change is what I believe in
When I was young and give and take And foolish said my fool awake When I was young and fever fell My spirit, I will not tell You're on your honor, on your honor
Trust in your calling, make sure your calling's true Think of others, the others think of you Silly rule golden words make, practice, practice makes perfect, Perfect is a fault, and fault lines change
I believe my humor's wearing thin And change is what I believe in
I believe my shirt is wearing thin And change is what I believe in
When I was young and full of grace As spirited a rattlesnake When I was young and fever fell My spirit, I will not tell You're on your honor, on your honor I believe in example I believe my throat hurts Example is the checker to the key
I believe my humor's wearing thin And I believe the poles are shifting
I believe my shirt is wearing thin And change is what I believe in
OMG I haven't heard that Weird Al song in ages! soooo funny!

Artist: Milli Vanilli Song Title: Girl You Know It's True
I'm in love with you girl 'cause you're on my mind, you're the one I think about most every time. And when you pack a smile in everything you do, don't you understand, girl, this love is true. You're soft, succulent so sweet and thin that's kind of like a vision upon your skin. It lightens up my day, and that's oh so true. Together we're one separated we're two. To make you all mine, all mine is my desire. 'Cause you contain a quality, you that I admire. You're pretty plain and simple, you rule my world so try to understand. I'm in love girl, I'm in so love girl. I'm just in love girl, and this is true. Girl, you know it's true. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh I love you. Yes, you know it's true. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh I love you. Girl, you know it's true. My love is for you. Girl, you know it's true. My love is for you. This is some sort of thing, girl, I can't explain, my emotions starts up when I hear your name. Maybe your sweet sweet voice would ring in my ear, then delay my system when you are near. Come with your positive emotion, love, making enjoyin' that's for me to bust it's like a girl and a boy. These feelings I get I often wonder why, so I thought I might discuss this, girl, just you and I. Now what you're wearing I don't care, as I've said before, no reason that I like you, girl, just for what you are. If I said I'd think about it, you rule my world so try to understand. My love Girl, you know it's true. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh I love you. Yes, you know it's true. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh I love you.

Fool on the Hill

Fool On The Hill
(The Beatles)
Day after day, alone on the hill, The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still. But nobody wants to know him, They can see that he's just a fool. And he never gives an answer .....
But the fool on the hill, Sees the sun going down. And the eyes in his head, See the world spinning around.
Well on his way, his head in a cloud, The man of a thousand voices, talking perfectly loud. But nobody ever hears him, Or the sound he appears to make. And he never seems to notice .....
But the fool on the hill, Sees the sun going down. And the eyes in his head, See the world spinning around.
And nobody seems to like him, They can tell what he wants to do. And he never shows his feelings,
But the fool on the hill, Sees the sun going down. And the eyes in his head, See the world spinning around.

Ride On AC / DC It's another lonely evening And another lonely town But I ain't too young to worry And I ain't too old to cry When a woman gets me down Got another empty bottle And another empty bed Ain't too young to admit it And I'm not too old to lie I'm just another empty head
That's why I'm lonely I'm so lonely But I know what I'm gonna do -
I'm gonna ride on Ride on Ride on, standing on the edge of the road Ride on, thumb in the air Ride on, one of these days I'm gonna Ride on, change my evil ways Till then I'll just keep riding on
Broke another promise And I broke another heart But I ain't too young to realize That I ain't too old to try Try to get back to the start And it's another red light nightmare Another red light street And I ain't too old to hurry 'Cause I ain't too old to die But I sure am hard to beat
But I'm lonely Lord I'm lonely What am I gonna do -
Ride on Ride on, got myself a one-way ticket Ride on Ride on, going the wrong way Ride on, gonna change my evil ways Ride on, one of these days One of these days
Ride on Ride on I'm gonna ride on Ride on, looking for a truck Ride on Ride on, keep on riding Riding on and on and on

Gus: The Polar Bear From Central Park
What's troubling Gus you sound demented is it because someone talked and she told me he no longer thinks anything that moves and everything he sees is something to kill and eat? What's troubling Gus is it nothing goes quiet? the whip-poor-will at dusk...
What's troubling Gus overhearing conversations that it's because you're too either them or me when it's either them or it's us anything that moves and everything you see is something to kill and eat What's troubling Gus? Is itnothing goes quiet? Is that what's troubling ya Gus the mere mention of the name used to be enough to make every bird stop singing? Is that what's troubling ya Gus? No is afraid enough?
What's troubling Gus is it nothing goes quiet? Is that what's troubling ya Gus? The mere mention of the name used to be enough to make every bird stop singing the whip-poor-will at dusk tells you no one is afraid
no one is afraid enough is it afraid or is it afraid enough? it's troubling Gus
At the hundredth meridian
Me debunk an American myth? And take my life in my hands? Where the Great Plains begin at the hundredth meridian At the hundredth meridian where the Great Plains begin
Driving down a corduroy road, Weeds standing shoulder high Ferris wheel is rusting off in the distance
(chorus)
At the hundredth meridian At the hundredth meridian At the hundredth meridian where the great plains begin
Left alone to get gigantic Hard, huge, and haunted A generation so much dumber than it's parents Came crashing through the window
A raven strains along the line of the road Carrying a muddy, old skull the wires show their approval Off down the distance
(chorus)
I remember, I remember buffalo And I remember Hengelo It would seem to me I remember every single fucking thing I know ( If I die of Vanity, promise me, promise me That if they bury me some place I don't want to be That you'll dig me up and transport me Unceremoniously away from the swollen city breeze, garbage bag trees Whispers of disease, and acts of enormity And lower me slowly, sadly, and properly Get Ry Cooder to sing my eulogy
(chorus) Where the Great Plains begin at The hundredth meridian At the hundredth meridian where the Great Plains begin

Save the planet
The man 'cross the street he don't move a muscle Though he's all covered in dust When constitutions of granite can't save the planet What's to become of us With a painted restraint I don't move a muscle Though a turbine roars If the bathwater's clear and my ear's underwater It's a tolerant hum from the core
Sleep's beckoning from the depths From the cracks and from the crevices Join the army of ghosts The murmurs in the mist
That's when the powers of observation Come to the periphery town And we carry their water We don't make a sound And after gaining our resignation The come through the chain-link fence You only enemy's panic Your only chance is to start making sense
Sleep plunging into deeper debt Into bunkers and black minarets On a geyser of ink A morning voice faint and yet
And it sounds heroincredible Sound that makes the headphones edible Awake affiliated and indelible
The man 'cross the street he don't move a muscle Though he's all covered in dust Says constitutions of granite can't save the planet What's left to captivate us What's left to captivate us What's left to captivate us What's left to become of us

LIVING IN THE ROSE (Sullivan/Heaton) 1992
The lovers they kiss and slowly they turn for drawing a breath there is nothing but time A thousand million years before we crash in the sun And I know we will be still here in Her arms In the thick black night we could lie in the grass And gaze at the sky and watch the satellites pass A thousand million miles, the earth She will turn Then still we will be here in Her arms And if we can float away in our dreams There's a city that waits under the sea The days to pass living in the rose The seeded land slow and old The scented air heavy and warm Whispers, touches . . .
MARRAKESH (Sullivan) 1989
They found us in the courtyard at our table in the shade We toasted our last few moments and then the end came They took us back to the airstrip in that beaten up old car And we rattled across the African scrubland in silence Our hands locked together with cold steel cuffs Sometimes I wish it was still that way Now a whole world has died since then, so many faithless days I was born alone and lucky and I'm just used to it that way My dice still roll in sixes and yours still turn up ones And I have taken my good fortune and I've run and run But I always swore I'd come back for you Is it too late now to come back for you ?
Now beneath this lonely junction on the northbound M6 We spray our words of signature on the concrete bridge And between the words of wisdom and the slogans of despair Someone's just gone and written 'I'm sorry' there Well I always swore I'd come back for you Is it too late now to come back for you? You're the only one I'll ever love
ELEVEN YEARS (Sullivan/Heaton) 1991
Stevie said now don't look round they're watching us Two girls in the corner of that dodgy club And the grey eyes, the storm that I've come to know and wish for Before I caught a breath, well, she was standing there. We walked the streets of our town just talking And the dawn broke grey and freezing through the deserted blocks Just when your life is stale and there's reason there for everything Something comes to kick you up inside Eleven sweet years and no nearer home A hundred thousands miles through this battle zone Still high on the wire above the hollow darkness Trying not to look down
No Rest for the wicked is still how it goes Twisted up and turning in my bed alone And separation pains like a blunted amputation Pushing endless coins in the telephone Eleven sweet years and no nearer home A hundred thousands miles through this battle zone Still high on the wire above the hollow darkness Trying not to look down
So rest in these open arms and lie until they come for you And tell me everything you've ever felt, tell me everything you want to see . . .
Forever running even when we are standing still Driven on and fired up as the whirlwinds blow And shouting out inside "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of you" Ten thousand footsteps echo down the Brixton Road Eleven sweet years and no nearer home A hundred thousands miles through this battle zone Still high on the wire above the hollow darkness Trying not to look down
THESE WORDS (Sullivan) 1992
Through the years of decay we walk like tigers in cages With each passing turn the smaller and smaller the circles Every weapon and word legitimate now as protection But these things should never be spoken These things should never be spoken
I stand undefeated alone in the ring just pacing The sweat and the blood dried on my hands all wasted I'm shouting "come back and fight for I am the king" But the lights are all out and the people are gone We always burned brightest when no one was watching Now I kiss the lines on your beautiful face But these things should never be spoken These things should never be spoken
And sometimes your hunger for life seems like desperation And when I read about the world these days all I can feel is hatred The fortune teller is closing her doors She looked into the crystal and saw nothing at all They're waiting round here for something to happen They won't really want it when it rolls out to greet them But these things should never be spoken These things should never be spoken

Tom Waits - 9th and Hennepin
Well it's Ninth and Hennepin All the doughnuts have names that sound like prostitutes And the moon's teeth marks are on the sky Like a tarp thrown all over this And the broken umbrellas like dead birds And the steam comes out of the grill Like the whole goddamn town's ready to blow... And the bricks are all scarred with jailhouse tattoos And everyone is behaving like dogs And the horses are coming down Violin Road And Dutch is dead on his feet And all the rooms they smell like diesel And you take on the dreams of the ones who have slept here And I'm lost in the window, and I hide in the stairway And I hang in the curtain, and I sleep in your hat... And no one brings anything small into a bar around here They all started out with bad directions And the girl behind the counter has a tattooed tear One for every year he's away, she said Such a crumbling beauty, ah There's nothing wrong with her that a hundred dollars won't fix She has that razor sadness that only gets worse With the clang and the thunder of the Southern Pacific going by And the clock ticks out like a dripping faucet til you're full of rag water and bitters and blue ruin And you spill out over the side to anyone who will listen... And I've seen it all, I've seen it all Through the yellow windows of the evening train...
Nick Cave - Papa Won't Leave You Henry
I went out walking the other day The wind hung wet around my neck My head it rung with screams and groans From the night I spent amongst her bones I past beside the mission house Where that mad old buzzard, the reverend, Shrieked and flapped about life after your dead Well, I thought about my friend, Michel How they rolled him in linoleum And shot him in the neck A bloody halo, like a think-bubble Circling his head And I bellowed at the firmament Looks like the rains are hear to stay And the rain pissed down upon me And washed me all away Saying Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Well, the road is long And the road is hard And many fall by the side But Papa won't leave you, Henry So there ain't no need to cry And I went on down the road He went on down the road And I went on down the road He went on down the road Well, the moon it looked exhausted Like something you should pity Spent an age-spotted Above the sizzling wires of the city Well, it reminded me of her face Her bleached and hungry eyes Her hair was like a curtain Falling open with the laughter And closing with the lies But the ghost of her still lingers on Though she's passed through me And is gone The slum dogs, they are barking And the rain children on the streets And the tears that we will weep today Will all be washed away By the tears that we will weep again tomorrow Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy For the road is long And the road is hard And many fall by the side But Papa won't leave you, Henry So there ain't no need to cry And I went on down the road He went on down the road And I went on down the road He went on down the road And I came upon a little house A little house upon a hill And I entered through, the curtain hissed Into the house with its blood-red bowels Where wet-lipped women with greasy fists Crawled the ceilings and the walls They filled me full of drink And led me round the rooms Naked and cold and grinning Until everything went black And I came down spinning I awoke so drunk and full of rage That I could hardly speak A fag in a whale-bone corset Draping his dick across my cheek And its into the shame And its into a guilt And its into the f**king fray And the walls ran red around me A warm arterial spray Saying Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Well, the night is dark And the night is deep And its jaws are open wide But Papa won't leave you, Henry So there ain't no need to cry And I went on down the road He went on down the road And I went on down the road He went on down the road It's the rainy season where I'm living Death comes leaping out of every doorway Wasting you for money, for your clothes And for your nothing Entire towns being washed away Favelas exploding on inflammable spillways Lynch-mobs, death squads, babies being born without brains The mad heat and the relentless rains And if you stick your arm into that hole It comes out sheared off to the bone And with her kisses bubbling on my lips I swiped the rain and nearly missed And I went on down the road He went on down the road Singing Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Papa won't leave you, Henry Papa won't leave you, Boy Well, the road is long And the road is hard And many fall by the side But Papa won't leave you, Henry So there ain't no need to cry And I went on down the road He went on down the road And I went on down the road He went on down the road Bent Beneath my heavy load Under his heavy load Yeah, I went on down the road Yeah, he went on down the road Woah, woah Woah, woah Woah, woah Woah, woah And I went on down that road

On a cobweb afternoon in a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death reading how we'll die alone And if we're good we'll lay to rest anywhere we want to go
In your house I long to be room by room patiently I'll wait for you there like a stone I'll wait for you there alone
On my deathbed I will pray to the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised the wine was bled And there you led me on
In your house I long to be room by room patiently I'll wait for you there like a stone I'll wait for you there alone
And on I read until the day was gone And I sat in regret of all the things I've done For all that I blessed and all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on
Like a Stone. Chris Cornell

i got dosed by you closer than most to you what am i supposed to do take it away i never had it anyway take it away and everything will be okay
in you a star is born you cut a perfect form someone forever warm ... lay on ...
way upon the mountain where she died all i ever wanted was your life deep inside the canyon i can't hide all i ever wanted was your life
show love with no remorse climb onto your seahorse this ride is right on course this is the way i wanted it to be with you this is the way i knew that it would be with you
way upon the mountain where she died all i ever wanted was your life deep inside the canyon i can't hide all i ever wanted was your life
i got dosed by you closer than most to you what am i supposed to do take it away i never had it anyway take it away and everything will be okay ...

Love ridden, I've looked at you With the focus I gave to my birthday candles I've wished on the lidded blue flames under your brow And, baby, I wished for you Nobody sees when you are lying in your bed And I wanna crawl in with you but I cry instead I want you warm, but it will only make me colder when it's over So I can't tonight, baby No, not "baby" anymore -- if I need you I'll just use your simple name Only kisses on the cheek from now on And in a little while, we'll only have to wave My hand won't hold you down no more The path is clear to follow through I stood too long in the way of the door And now I'm giving up on you No, not "baby" anymore -- if I need you I'll just use your simple name Only kisses on the cheek from now on And in a little while, we'll only have to wave.
Love Ridden. Fiona Apple.

in a little while surely you'll be mine in a little while ... i'll be there in a little while this hurt will hurt no more i'll be home, love
when the night takes a deep breath and the daylight has no air if i crawl, if i come crawling home will you be there?
in a little while i wont be blown by every breeze friday night running to sunday on my knees that girl, that girl she's mine well i've known her since, since she was
a little girl with spanish eyes when i saw her first in a pram they pushed her by oh my, my how you've grown well, it's been, it's been ... a little while
ooh ...
slow down my beating heart
a man dreams one day to fly a man takes a rocket ship into the skies he lives on a star that's dying in the night and follows in the trail, the scatter of light turn it on, turn it on, you turn me on
slow down my beating heart slowly, slowly love ...

Things can be broken down In this world of ours You don’t have to be a famous person Just to make your mark A mother can be an inspiration To here little son Change his thoughs, his mind, his life, Just with her gentle hum So different, yet so the same Two sisters only have their parents to blame It’s rare that two can get along But when they do, they’re inseparable Such a blessing comes to few
The sky is full of clouds and My world’s full of people All different kinds with different ways It would take a lifetime to explain No one’s exactly the same
He and she, two different people With two separate lives Then you put the two together And get a spectacular surprise ’cause one can teach the other one What she doesn’t know While still the other fills a place inside He never knew had room to grow
Chorus Once in a while I sit back And think about the planet Most of the time I trip on it To kick back and think about How massive it all is And how many others are one it
I often think about the world In which I live today, of animals and plants And nature’s gift set on display But the most amazing thing That I’ve seen in my time Are all the different people And all their different minds And different ways It would take a lifetime to explain Not one’s exactly the same
So many different people So many different kinds So many different people So many different kinds Look at me, I’m a person Look at me, I’m my own person So many different people So many different kinds For better or for worse, different people

You Talk Too Much
Joe Jones
[Words and music by Joe Jones and the FIC]
You talk too much You worry me to death You talk too much You even worry my pet
You just talk Talk too much
You talk about people That you don't know You talk about people Wherever you go
You just talk Talk too much
You talk about people That you've never seen You talk about people You can make me scream
You just talk you talk too much
---- Instrumental Interlude ----
You talk too much You worry me to death You talk too much You even worry my pet
You just talk Talk too much
You talk about people That you don't know You talk about people Wherever you go
You just talk Talk too much
You talk about people That you've never seen You talk about people You can make me scream

The Origin of Love
05-07-2005 06:57
From my favorite movie, Hedwig and the Angry Inch:
When the earth was still flat, And the clouds made of fire, And mountains stretched up to the sky, Sometimes higher, Folks roamed the earth Like big rolling kegs. They had two sets of arms. They had two sets of legs. They had two faces peering Out of one giant head So they could watch all around them As they talked; while they read. And they never knew nothing of love. It was before the origin of love.
The origin of love
And there were three sexes then, One that looked like two men Glued up back to back, Called the children of the sun. And similar in shape and girth Were the children of the earth. They looked like two girls Rolled up in one. And the children of the moon Were like a fork shoved on a spoon. They were part sun, part earth Part daughter, part son.
The origin of love
Now the gods grew quite scared Of our strength and defiance And Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all With my hammer, Like I killed the giants." And Zeus said, "No, You better let me Use my lightening, like scissors, Like I cut the legs off the whales And dinosaurs into lizards." Then he grabbed up some bolts And he let out a laugh, Said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half." And then storm clouds gathered above Into great balls of fire
And then fire shot down From the sky in bolts Like shining blades Of a knife. And it ripped Right through the flesh Of the children of the sun And the moon And the earth. And some Indian god Sewed the wound up into a hole, Pulled it round to our belly To remind us of the price we pay. And Osiris and the gods of the Nile Gathered up a big storm To blow a hurricane, To scatter us away, In a flood of wind and rain, And a sea of tidal waves, To wash us all away, And if we don't behave They'll cut us down again And we'll be hopping round on one foot And looking through one eye.
Last time I saw you We had just split in two. You were looking at me. I was looking at you. You had a way so familiar, But I could not recognize, Cause you had blood on your face; I had blood in my eyes. But I could swear by your expression That the pain down in your soul Was the same as the one down in mine. That's the pain, Cuts a straight line Down through the heart; We called it love. So we wrapped our arms around each other, Trying to shove ourselves back together. We were making love, Making love. It was a cold dark evening, Such a long time ago, When by the mighty hand of Jove, It was the sad story How we became Lonely two-legged creatures, It's the story of The origin of love. That's the origin of love.
