Could list dozens... But one close to me: I took a slide, slipping down a staircase A Piranesian dream My senses reeled, distorted about the darkness A lit my way with a scream And in the rave an alarum caused a Cracked mirror I got confused by the sound I turned around and touched it from a distance and then it fell to the ground Loud cry from the shallows Lust feeds on the fear Walls crack under pressure I think the end is getting near And in my mind that was the fury of a madness That consecrated the dirt I stumbled through the enigma of the reason And celebrated the hurt And then I found in an act of desperation A subtle rip in the heart I was seduced by the fear (taste) of devastation and then it tore me apart Oh no, nothing matters! When it takes me When it rapes me, breaks me Shakes me down A quick escape from the fear of commination I slept the night with my spleen A thin exuse, I was searching for some answers I broke away from the scene Because after all animality's an instinct And its Luxuria's slave To taste the truth, it's a seizure of the senses And its a foot in the grave Alarum, The Tea Party

I’m traveling in some vehicle I’m sitting in some cafe A defector from the petty wars That shell shock love away There’s comfort in melancholy When there’s no need to explain It’s just as natural as the weather In this moody sky today In our possessive coupling So much could not be expressed So now I’m returning to myself These things that you and I suppressed I see something of myself in everyone Just at this moment of the world As snow gathers like bolts of lace Waltzing on a ballroom girl
You know it never has been easy Whether you do or you do not resign Whether you travel the breadth of extremities Or stick to some straighter line Now here’s a man and a woman sitting on a rock They’re either going to thaw out or freeze Listen... Strains of benny goodman Coming thru’ the snow and the pinewood trees I’m porous with travel fever But you know I’m so glad to be on my own Still somehow the slightest touch of a stranger Can set up trembling in my bones I know - no one’s going to show me everything We all come and go unknown Each so deep and superficial Between the forceps and the stone
Well I looked at the granite markers Those tribute to finality - to eternity And then I looked at myself here Chicken scratching for my immortality In the church they light the candles And the wax rolls down like tears There’s the hope and the hopelessness I’ve witnessed thirty years We’re only particles of change I know, I know Orbiting around the sun But how can I have that point of view When I’m always bound and tied to someone White flags of winter chimneys Waving truce against the moon In the mirrors of a modern bank from the window of a hotel room
I’m traveling in some vehicle I’m sitting in some cafe A defector from the petty wars Until love sucks me back that way ------------------------------------------

The eastern world, it is explodin’. Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’ You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’ You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’ And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’
But you tell me Over and over and over again, my friend Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve of destruction.
Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today? If the button is pushed, there’s no runnin’ away There’ll be no one to save, with the world in a grave Take a look around you boy It’s bound to scare you boy
And you tell me Over and over and over again, my friend Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve of destruction.
Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’ I’m sitting here just contemplatin’ I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation. Handful of senators don’t pass legislation And marches alone can’t bring integration When human respect is disintegratin’ This whole crazy world is just too frustratin’
And you tell me Over and over and over again, my friend Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve of destruction.
Think of all the hate there is in Red China Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama You may leave here for 4 days in space But when you return, it’s the same old place The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace Hate your next-door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend You don’t believe We’re on the eve Of destruction Mm, no no, you don’t believe We’re on the eve of destruction.

I saw your Mommy - by Suicidal Tendencies
Yesterday, as I went out of the house I saw a body lying down quiet as a mouse Lying face down in the sewer I got up closer and realized that I knew her All her organs coming from her inside Slashed up skin sliced up hide Turned her over and saw the tire tracks on her head That's when I realized she was dead I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead
Twisted body chopped off feet Her body was minced meat Bugs crawling on her arms She's dead, can't do no harm Gnarled up legs, broken and bent Her last breath has been spent I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead I watched her as she bled Chewed off toes on her chopped off feet I took a picture cause I thought it was neat But the thing I like seeing the best Was the rodents using her hair as a nest I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead I saw your mommy and your mommy's dead
I saw your mommy nnd your mommy's dead I saw her lying in a pool of red I think it's the greatest thing I'll ever see Your dead mommy lying in front of me I'll always remember her lying dead on the floor I hope she dies twenty times more I saw your mommy and your mommy is dead I saw your mommy and your mommy is dead

Ain't Goin to Goa (Love, Love, Love & The Rev. D Wayne Love)
I believe I'm gonna Shut down my Shakras, shift Shiva offa my shelf Take down my tie dyes, my Tibentan bells Cool down my karma witha can of OPT Ain't no call for Castaneda in my frontline library.
There's one thing I know, Lord above, I ain't gonna go, I ain't goin' to Goa, Ain't going to Goa now Ain't goin' to Goa, Ain't going to Goa now
Ain't dancing trance, no thanx, no chance to t-t tranquilize me. Ain't sippin' no smart bar drinks, yo, that don't satisfy me.
Dosin' up my dharma, with a drop of gasoline. I ain't down with Mr. Mckenna, tantric mantra talkin' don't move me.
I don't need no freaky, deeky, fractal, geometry, crystal silicon chip. I aint walking on lay lines, reading no High Times, put me on another bad trip. Timothy Leary, just check his theory he sold acid for the FBI Well, he ain't no website wonder, the guru just went under, you can keep your California Sunshine.
'Cos the righteous truth is, there ain't nothing worse than some fool lying on some Third World beach wearing spandex, psychedelic trousers, smoking damn dope pretending he gettin' consciousness expansion. I want Consciousness Expansion.. I go to my local tabernacle an' I sing with the brothers and sisters.

Peace In the Valley (Love, Love, Thompson, Tonin)
She spends too much time with herself everynight Just fooling around with her fears. In the morning she mourns the decline of her mind, Drowning in a bottle of beer. It's too dangerous to think about Just what she might have been, If she'd sung for salvation If she'd jumped on her dreams.
But there's gonna be peace in the valley tomorrow Cos tonight she's gonna blow it all away Lord she feels so twisted, she ain't ever gonna fix it She's just waiting for the light to shine on a brand new day.
He don't know if he's communist, a hedonist or a whore Spent too much time riding on a white line to find the door And if he did and he opened it he'd find those letters in the hall he's too blind to read between the lines Cos the writing's on the wall
But there's gonna be peace in the valley tomorrow Cos tonight he's gonna blow it all away Lord he feels so twisted, he ain't never gonna fix it He's just waiting for the light to shine on a brand new day.
I got ecstacy, but I need some company You've got that mystery, Lord, I need a plan All I got is a compromise and a bag full of alibis Empty as the bottle of whiskey in my shaking hand.
But there's gonna be peace in the valley tomorrow Cos tonight we're gonna blow it all away Lord we feel so twisted, we ain't ever gonna fix it We're just waiting for the light to shine on a brand new day.

- Atlantic City - Bruce Springsteen (1982)
Well they blew up the chicken man in Philly last night now they blew up his house too Down on the boardwalk they're gettin' ready for a fight gonna see what them racket boys can do Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state and the D. A. can't get no relief Gonna be a rumble out on the promenade and the gamblin' commissions hangin' on by the skin of it's teeth Everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Well I got a job and tried to put my money away But I got debts that no honest man can pay So I drew what I had from the Central Trust And I bought us two tickets on that Coast City Bus Everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Now our luck may have died and our love may be cold but with you forever I'll stay We're goin' out where the sands turnin' to gold So put on your stockin's cause the nights gettin' cold Everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Now I been lookin' for a job but it's hard to find Down here it's just winners and losers and don't get caught on the wrong side of that line Well I'm tired of comin' out on the losin' end So honey last night I met this guy and I'm gonna do a little favor for him Everything dies baby that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City

Soooo many lyrics, I might post a few, but here is my first, it's one of many of mine and ma baby's song, I love you Fred Slipknot - Vermillion PT 2She seen trust in all of me, stretched across my shame. All the torment and the pain Leaked through the cover in me Id do anything ever to myself Just to have her for myself Now I dont know what to do, I dont know what to do when she makes me sane. She is everything to me The unaquited dream A song that no one sings The unobtainable, Shes a myth that I have to believe in All I need to make it real is one more reason I dont know what to do, I dont know what to do when she makes me sane. But I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me A catch in my throat Choke, dawn into pieces I wont No, I dont want to be this But I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me I wont let this build up inside of me She isnt real I can make her real She isnt real I can make her real

The Chicken Song(from BBC's "Spitting Image" It's the time of year, now that spring is in the air When those two wet gits, with their girly curly hair Make another song, for moronic holidays that nausiate-ate-ates in a million different ways From the shores of Spain, to the coast of southern France No matter where you hide, you just can't escape this dance Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes Paint your left knee green, then extract your wisdom teeth Form a string quartet, and pretend your name is Keith. Skin yourself alive, learn to speak Araphahoe Climb inside a dog, and behead an Eskimo Eat a Renault Four, wear salami in your ears Cassarole your gran, disembowel yourself with spears The disco is migrating, the sound is loud and grating It's truly nausiating - let's do the dance again.. Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes Yes you'll hear this song, in the holiday discos And there's no escape, in the clubs or in the bars You would hear this song, if you holidayed in Mars Skin yourself alive, learn to speak araphahoe Climb inside a dog, and behead an Eskimo Now you've heard it once, your brain will spring a leak And though you hate this song you'll be humming it for weeks Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes la la la la la la la.... (voice in the background at the end: "'ay - we had a laugh!"

art is hard by Cursive
Cut it out, your self-inflicted pain is getting too routine the crowds are catching on to the self-afflicted song well here we go again, the art of acting weak fall in love to fail, to boost your CD sales and that CD sells yeah what a hit, you got to repeat it you gotta sink to swim
First you dont, you dont succeed you gotta recreate your misery cause we all know art is hard young artists have gotta starve try and fail and try again the comforts of repetition keep churnin out those hits till its all the same old sh*t
Oh, a second verse well color me fatigued im hiding in the leaves in the CD jacket sleeves tired of entertaining some double-dipped meaning a soft served analogy those drunken angry slur in 31 flavours you gotta sink gotta sink gotta sink to swim immerse yourself in rejection regurgitate some sorry tale about a boy who sells his love affairs
Gotta fake (fake) fake (fake) the pain gotta make (make) make (make) a scene gotta break (break) break (break) a leg when you get on stage and they scream your name oh cursive is so cool!
You gotta sink gotta sink gotta sink to swim impersonate greater persons cause we all know art is hard when we dont know who we are

Pants On Fire Lyrics by Buck 65
Sky diver, your pants are on fire and the rest of your clothes is blowing And for some strange reason, your nose is growing My skin is crawling, everybody's chin is falling, jaws are dropping left and right Lost cause you came like a thief in the night With nice white teeth and a tight a$$ and long conversation Fascinating feeling to spend months in your company I never felt uncomfortable, even with my clothes off Chillin so hard, my a$$ almost froze off Everybody shows off and wants to look presentable But the fact of the matter is that accidents are preventable From the sound of the candy wrappers Down to the handicappers Everybody's got to exercise a little caution But every so often expect things to get hectic or Technically difficult and I begin to get skeptical Especially when the canadian bacon gets sizzlin Isn't it a sin when the ceiling is invisible We need new inventions that reveal peoples true intentions A portable pride protector, affordable lie detector The wild lifestyle has the tendency to intimidate But it isn't your invitation to imitate In front of my face, you spoke my gospel like an apostle But on the other side of town, you got coke in your nostril Just for example, we all want to live a bit Whatever, it's your body of water, why should I give a sh*t
Who are you anyway, and where did you come from Dumdum, just when I thought I could trust someone The mask comes off, and your face fades away You radiate eighty-eight full shades of gray
Black and white rainbow, you know you ain't acting right Game show hostess, stabbing every back in sight The time has come thicker than blood And make no mistake, I'm a stick in the mud I'm a kick in your pants and I'm a lump in your throat And I'm the hassle in your castle, I'm going to jump in your moat Splash, hypocritical condition the hospital Makes this mission impossible Pretty much, I've got no patients left and as a physician or doctor It puts me in an awkward position No magician can trick me, or lick me with a cattle whip So what makes you think you can sink my battleship We ain't family, drama queen, the camera's rolling Show me your swollen mem*ries before the moment's stolen Slow-motion Picasso, wearing the wool socks And coming with the full clip, I'm sick of this bullsh*t
Who are you anyway, and where did you come from Dumdum, just when I thought I could trust someone The mask comes off, and your face fades away You radiate eighty-eight full shades of gray

does an opening line count?
01-13-2005 08:54
Joni Mitchell's "Free Man in Paris" opens with a couplet that makes the whole song someone else's words which just trips my "clever" trigger: "The way I see it", he said, "you just can win it" "everybody's in it for their own gain" ... For a tune that never fails to rip my heart out "Little Green" - about putting her baby up for adoption - makes me misty just thinking about it. But her music is so wrapped around the lyric that it is mostly useless to post it here.

Mujeres Divinas

Green Day Boulevard of Broken Dreams --------------------------------------------- I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don't know where it goes But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams Where the city sleeps and I'm the only one and I walk alone
I walk alone I walk alone
I walk alone I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me 'Til then I walk alone
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah
I'm walking down the line That divides me somewhere in my mind On the border line Of the edge and where I walk alone
Read between the lines What's fucked up and everything's alright Check my vital signs To know I'm still alive and I walk alone
I walk alone I walk alone
I walk alone I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me 'Til then I walk alone
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah Ah-ah, Ah-ah
I walk alone I walk a...
I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one and I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me 'Til then I walk alone...

Paris,
It is 11:36 CST and you should not have posted "Por tu Maldito Amor".
A little early, but I am now headed for the kitchen for a cerveza and a shot of jack Daniels.
I am playing it full blast!

Terrapin Station- Grateful Dead
01-13-2005 09:41
Terrapin Station ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let my inspiration flow in token rhyme, suggesting rhythm, That will not forsake you, till my tale is told and done. While the firelight's aglow, strange shadows from the flames will grow, Till things we've never seen will seem familiar.
Shadows of a sailor, forming winds both foul and fair all swarm. Down in Carlisle, he loved a lady many years ago. Here beside him stands a man, a soldier from the looks of him, Who came through many fights, but lost at love.
While the story teller speaks, a door within the fire creaks; Suddenly flies open, and a girl is standing there. Eyes alight, with glowing hair, all that fancy paints as fair, She takes her fan and throws it, in the lion's den.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell? I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance. The sailor gave at least a try, the soldier being much too wise, Strategy was his strength, and not disaster.
The sailor, coming out again, the lady fairly leapt at him. That's how it stands today. You decide if he was wise. The story teller makes no choice. Soon you will not hear his voice. His job is to shed light, and not to master.
Since the end is never told, we pay the teller off in gold, In hopes he will return, but he cannot be bought or sold.
Terrapin Station
Inspiration, move me brightly. Light the song with sense and color; Hold away despair, more than this I will not ask. Faced with mysteries dark and vast, statements just seem vain at last. Some rise, some fall, some climb, to get to Terrapin.
Counting stars by candlelight, all are dim but one is bright; The spiral light of Venus, rising first and shining best, On, from the northwest corner, of a brand new crescent moon, While crickets and cicadas sing, a rare and different tune, Terrapin Station.
In the shadow of the moon, Terrapin Station. And I know we'll get there soon, Terrapin Station. I can't figure out, Terrapin, if it's the end or beginning, Terrapin, But the train's put it's brakes on, Terrapin, And the whistle is screaming, TERRAPIN.
Terrapin Station - At the Siding
While you were gone, these faces filled with darkness. The obvious was hidden. With nothing to believe in,
Sullen wings of fortune beat like rain. You're back in Terrapin for good or ill again, for good or ill again.

From: Malachi Petunia Joni Mitchell's "Free Man in Paris" opens with a couplet that makes the whole song someone else's words which just trips my "clever" trigger: "The way I see it", he said, "you just can win it" "everybody's in it for their own gain" ... For a tune that never fails to rip my heart out "Little Green" - about putting her baby up for adoption - makes me misty just thinking about it. But her music is so wrapped around the lyric that it is mostly useless to post it here. I think Joni Mitchell is the best lyricist ever. Always intelligent, insightful, and filled with beautiful imagery. "White flags of winter chimneys Wave truce against the moon..." It just doesn't get any better than that. She's an amazing writer.

The Clash - Lost in the Supermarket I'm all lost in the supermarket I can no longer shop happily I came in here for that special offer A guaranteed personality I wasn't born so much as I fell out Nobody seemed to notice me We had a hedge back home in the suburbs Over which I never could see I heard the people who lived on the ceiling Scream and fight most scarily Hearing that noise was my first ever feeling That's how it's been all around me I'm all tuned in, I see all the programmes I save coupons from packets of tea I've got my giant hit discotheque album An empty bottle, I feel a bit free The kids in the halls and the pipes in the walls Make me noises for company Long distance callers make long distance calls And the silence makes me lonely And it's not hear It disappear I'm all lost LOVE this song. I actually like "Clampdown" best but I don't think the lyrics are as ingenious as this one.

This tune has been rollin around in my head for a few weeks now... wanna hear it?? Here it goes...
In My Dreams With You - Steve Vai
I’m watchin’ you, I’m wantin’ you, but you turn away I’d crawl through broken glass to you, but it wouldn’t pay You take me for a fool, but if you only knew What I do in my dreams with you
You’re so cold and critical, and baby that’s too bad So my reality will have to come to me in my dreams
I know that you belong to me every night, you suddenly appear in my eyes It happens when I sleep, it isn’t right, what I do in my dreams with you It isn’t right what I do in my dreams with you
I love the way you come to me every night My fantasies are real, and they never lie If you only knew, what I do in my dreams with you, yeah It isn’t right, lord knows that it isn’t right
The world can make you cynical, with all it’s love and pain But I don’t have to carry the weight of the world
I know that you belong to me every night, you suddenly appear in my eyes It happens when I sleep, it isn’t right, what I do in my dreams with you It isn’t right what I do in my dreams with you
Baby don’t wake me, let me take you on an endless journey We touch, and the softest kiss explodes with lust, yeah It’s real, you can’t deny the heat you feel And if I die before I wake, baby, that’s all right
I know that you belong to me every night, you suddenly appear in my eyes It happens when I sleep, it isn’t right, what I do in my dreams with you It isn’t right what I do in my dreams with you
I know that you belong to me every night, you suddenly appear in my eyes (repeats out...)

St. Stephen - The Grateful Dead (I heard it live 2 times!!!!)
Saint Stephen with a rose In and out of the garden he goes Country garland in the wind and the rain Wherever he goes the people all complain
Stephen prosper in his time Well he may and he may decline Did it matter? does it now? Stephen would answer if he only knew how
Wishing well with a golden bell Bucket hanging clear to hell Hell halfway twixt now and then Stephen fill it up and lower down And lower down again
Lady finger dipped in moonlight Writing `what for?' across the morning sky Sunlight splatters dawn with answers Darkness shrugs and bids the day goodbye
Speeding arrow, sharp and narrow, What a lot of fleeting matters you have spurned Several seasons with their treasons Wrap the babe in scarlet covers call it your own
Did he doubt or did he try? Answers aplenty in the bye and bye Talk about your plenty, talk about your ills One man gathers what another man spills (wisdom!)
Saint Stephen will remain All he's lost he shall regain Seashore washed by the suds and the foam Been here so long he's got to calling it home
Fortune comes a crawlin, Calliope woman Spinning that curious sense of your own Can you answer? Yes I can, but what would be the answer to the answer man?
