From: Donovan Galatea Perhaps a generic discussion would have been a better approach. For example, how should people behave when discussing a controversial member of the community whose actions have been demonstrated time and again to violate rules and accepted ethical behavior? Are there ways to approach such a topic without allowing the dialogue to degenerate into vituperative name-calling? Can we agree on how to behave when we disagree about a person's behavior?
Probably not, but -- by centering the discussion around a particular person in this thread, the comments were guaranteed to become inflammatory. Well said. Thanks Donovan!

well, I started this thread and I guess its time to wrap it up. The idea of causing an uproar is with the hope that out of chaos will come clarity. I think that the evolution of ideas/thoughts and emotions takes time and that every bit of painful discussion is helpful if a community really cares about its survival and its members survival. So, for the record, I do care about the members of this community. If any of you were being held to a fire by others I would step in to try to help. My methods are evolving, but my heart is pure. I hope that we can agree to disagree. I have made some good connections as an aside to this thread - I am happy that all of the 'unhappiness' wasn't for naught. If others of you got nothing out of it for all of your efforts well, better luck next time. I agree too, that I could have been more generic in my presentation, but you figure it out: my personality type is: Introverted, Intuitive, Judgemental -- I am IN emotions alot and presenting to folks who want logic and explanation is not my forte. Be it good or bad, I will jump in when I feel like I can't take it any more. So, you now know more about me too. Thats good. When I get involved again, and if I stick around here long enough I will, maybe you will remember - oh - right. Ursa. She is trying to translate a feeling, emotional, judgemental thing. Not great at it, but her heart is in the right place ! Gotta go! Bye! Go forth and Prosper! Nanu Nanu! See you in world!

From: Cristiano Midnight Ursa,
I won't quote your condescending post point by point. Thank you for your ability to run to dictionary.com and copy and paste. I know fully well what the word disingenuous means. I wanted to express more than just hypocrisy.
I have never said that Anshe was the anti-Christ. However, on the issue of "someone who plays by the rules", there are several sets of them that can be violated, as she has demonstrated. You can play by the rules to the letter, and still be a contemptible asshole. There is nothing wrong technically with convincing a newbie to sell their land for pennies on the dollar and then turning around and marking it up 1000% or more. It's just a really shitty way to act. There is nothing wrong technically from bidding on every plot in an auction as high as you can to win them, just for the purpose of turning right back around and marking those plots up to sell to the people you just beat out. It is just a rather lame thing to do just because you have the financial resources to do so. Many people do not have thousands of dollars to blow on auctions, but would still like the chance to buy land cheaply to build on without interference by Anshe's "service".
You can play by the rules of the game and still have horrible ethics. You can be publicly very nice and be privately nasty, because image is important to business. Those who have experienced it, however, know differently. Again, no rule broken, but hardly worthy of praise. I won't even get into the hundreds of dollars in land tier fees that were recently skirted while making thousands off of land sales, we'll leave that one alone I am not sure which rules you speak of, they change so often, but Anshe has never played by the rules that many people hold to be important.
As Oneironaut said, Anshe gives as good as she gets, if not more so. While your intentions on this thread may have been good, even if not really about Anshe, we all know what they say about good intentions. You just once more mentioned my name in a post where you talk about breaking rules, people who talk newbie into "selling for pennies" and being "asshole". Thank you very much Cris.

i cant respect ANYONE who rips people off for their own personal gain Nor can I Could we change the topic on these forums from flaming and labeling honest land developers to actually dealing with those who grief, lie and rip off people? Please report your incidents where you were cheated or ripped off by a person Don't forget to include details and actual proof.

I wasn't referring to you as an asshole, but glad you recognized yourself in that post, Anshe. I was speaking of anyone and illustrating how rules can be broken without breaking TOS. The only direct reference to you is on skirting land tier fees, which you cannot even begin to claim you did not do - it is well documented and you have been chastised for it, to the point of a policy change by LL.

I hope that those involved in this discussion can take the frustration they are feeling with the land situation and channel it into a debate about ways to improve the system. While the debate over at Buying and Selling Land has problems, there is a much better chance of making some progress when the system rather than on individual is being discussed. A reminder from the Guidelines - Flaming, Spamming, Trolling – Flaming (posting a message that is intended to incite anger or directly attack a person or persons), Spamming (multiple posts of the same topic or discussion), and Trolling (a post with an intentionally contrary opinion written with the intent of inciting or getting argumentative opinions) are strongly discouraged. If you think your post might be over-reactive, or that it might fall into one of these definitions, please reconsider posting.

From: Merwan Marker Anshe has been nice to me - although I've not spent much time with her.
Ursa you rock! I agree, Anshe has always been nice to me and even gave me an opportunity to display my plants at no charge in her mall. In addition - you do rock Ursa, for calling out that group bashing anyone is cruel and non-productive. Rose

Thanks Rose! I got too involved in defending this stance, but I am glad to see that the gist of the thread has not been lost.
