Ok folks go start your own thread. Whatsa matter with youse? Can't you respect anyone? I want to have fun in my own thread without you badmouthing anyone. Can that happen. Obviously not - so take your sorry asses somewhere else and cry and moan about how SL isn't your dream anymore.
It isn't ML (MyLife) it's SL and the implications so far as I have been here are that ALOT of other dreamers are trying to share this place. If you aren't part of the solution - you are being part of the problem.
Work for change if you don't like it. If you can't change everyone to dream like you do, then get some firneds and money together and BUY YOURSELF A LARGE PIECE OF LAND and go live there. Ban people that you don't like and things you don't like to see.
But please for now be bold enoug to start your own thread and call it what it is. Don't hide in this thread. Its not for you. Can you stand it?

i don't see how you're actually defending anshe here. ' edit: change "helping" to "actually defending"

I find it hard to believe (given the history in the forums) that someone starting a thread like this wouldn't know what it was going to turn out like. This would only lead to the conclusion that the person's original intent is what we have here. This is a public (to SL) forum. Certain people in game are very public figures. As such, they are either going to create a positive or negative reputation. If they create a very negative reputation (through whatever practices) then it stands to reason that they are going to be not well received in the public forum. It's unfortunate that the ones who do create a positive reputation tend to generate no where near this volume of writing. For one job I had, I was fairly extensively trained in sells and customer relations. The trainer said something that has stuck with me. If you have a business, and you treat a customer exceptionally well, they will relate this experience to one of their friends (probably their best one). If you treat a customer negatively (either purposefully or through neglect) they are certain to tell almost everyone they know, and definitely anyone who mentions your business.. Sorry, have to run for now. Wanted to continue Viola's story. It is excellent

I actually don't like bashing in the forums and tend to want to counter balance the activity - which I have done a little. I think you are wrong in assuming I am not making any headway. Anshe herself made a comment early on. Though there will always be those that have negative things to say - those that just can't help themselves - well, its worth a try I think. Your comment is akin to saying that everything is bad. No attempts should be made. Nothing should be done. Well at least I am trying - His. I really have no other recourse. I am not a personal friend of Anshe - and in fact have never met her or had a conversation with her. I sent her an IM just last evening because I wanted her to know that not everyone thinks she doesn't have a right to play this game. So, once again I will ask folks, if you have nothing but bahhumbugs to add here... please move to another thread. Try to control yourselves. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. chant and light candles now please and hold your other hand. PEACE in the kingdom/queendom.

One of the things that really kills me about the current anshe business practices is the ripping apart of whole sims on the main continent. Whole sims are very rare.. and present some amazing oportunities for a unified group build. But groups wanting to develop the sim as a single unit, aren't able to pay as much as a land baron who is willing to carve it up to 512sqm blocks and resell it is, so alot of land with alot of real potential is essentially being irrevocably ripped to shreds and thrown as scraps to new players.
In consequence, there are only very few really ambitious builds happening on the main continent, and those of us who are trying to do so face the undesirable task of VERY slowly accumulating contiguous land and paying ever raising prices to try and re-assemble large pieces of usable land
I agree with everything you said up to the point where I quoted. I disagree that whole sims are very rare...as a matter of fact sims are easy to come by the Lindens can produce them at will. The unified group build theory holds no water ....where are these unified groups and why haven't they purchased the land. I am trying to do something build wise in Rose and I've had to gather plots...started at 1024m2 and now I'm up to 16000m2 if I can do this a group can surely do it....by the way I bought a good chunk of that land from Ansche and the price was very good....below market value at the time. Any group that wants to develop a sim either from scratch or from an existing sim can do it if they wish it just might take longer. If the supposed land baron doesn't buy the sim then these groups are? Why haven't they so far? As for ripping sims apart...well the lindens do the same with auctioned plots and actually they do a worse job because they leave linden land everywhere screwing up the other plots and possibilities. As for there being few ambitous builds in world I would sugest searching the world a bit more I think you'll find a great many ambitous builds going on. With even more on the drawing boards. You would be accumulating land slowly if you were buying in an existing sim no matter who the other land holders are. Ever raising land prices? Land prices have been and continue to drop.

Ursa,
Do you know me, have you ever met me?
You say you don't like bashing, and yet, you reply in one of the most condescending tones I have ever received in these forums.
If you read my post carefully, I was actually disagreeing with the bashing myself, but also, explaining why (shocking, I know) based on what has happened in these forums previously it might be expected to happen by anyone who wasn't daft.
Anshe herself would never post in these forums asking that people step forward and praise her. After all of the complaints that have been lodged against her, it would be hypocritical in the extreme for people to step forward and offer false praise.
I was involved in a thread with her recently, as you probably are quite aware (I imagine that's why this thread exists) and if you actually read that thread, I was nothing but civil to her. I presented my request in the nicest possible way.
I regret that others, more passionately upset with her, decided to join the conversation. It did become a shameful display of incivility, but if you Actually read the thread, you would see that I was not a part of that.
Now, unfortunately, Anshe (and I could see why she would do this, I don't blame her) took the rather harsh attacks as a sign that I had orchestrated them. This couldn't be farther from the truth. I specifically asked several people, who I knew would be passionate about this subject, not to post, as I really wanted it to be a constructive way for a discussion with Anshe. Unfortunately, I have no mind powers, and can't stop people from doing what they are going to do. Well, actually, I can always predict when Plinko is the next game on Price is Right, but that's another thread entirely.
Anyway, based on the assumption that I was the instigator of the attacks (and not just the thread) Anshe lashed out at me. Obviously, people are going to defend themselves when attacked, even if they are perceiving the wrong person as the attacker. And, obviously, if I myself am attacked, I too will defend myself.
I didn't put together the actual reasons for the attack (her misperception) and am sorry that I didn't. Had I known why she was mistakenly attacking me, I would have dropped out of the thread entirely. I only fully came to these realisations after. I sincerely regret what that thread became.
Ursa, you had to have known what was going to happen in this thread. No, I don't think your plans were actually Nefarious, but I'm baffled as to what purpose you thought this thread would serve.
If you'll look at my first post in this thread, I actually attempted to do what you asked. I offered up praise to Anshe based on her own criteria, which is financial success within Second Life.
I sincerely ask that all that have been wronged by Anshe (or have perceived that to be the case) to just stop posting in this thread, but I'd also advise that no one should feel compelled to post here.
And Ursa, how 'bout you actually try and get to know me before making assumptions about me. Pick 10 (or 100 even) people in world who have had contact with me. Ask them what they think about me. I'll gladly stand by that. Or, even more amazing a thought, how about actually talking TO ME in world, and formulate an impression of your own, and not one based on a single argument in a thread in this forum. NO ONE looks good during an argument, and even more so if that argument gets heated, but I sincerely hope that you have the ability to understand the difference between a single argument in a forum and a person.
I actually appreciated the sentiment behind this thread initially. I hate to see negativity in these forums. . . but this thread quickly became something else.
I'm not going to assume that you are a hate filled hypocrite from a single posting in the thread. I'd kind you not to make assumptions about me either.

From: Cristiano Midnight Ursa,
You start a thread to provide positive feedback, knowing full well the outcome, lamenting personal attacks, and then make one yourself. More than a bit disingenuous, I must say. Why 'must' you say, Cris, why bother? And what is the personal attack that I have made? Prey tell. I think I am defending myself against assumptions. By saying that someone has no clue as to who I am - is not an assumption - it is, a FACT! And I smiled at the end...because I have already 'spoken' to Oneironaut inworld via an IM - I went to his land after reading his thread about Anshe and wanted to see his place and what her land for sale looked like. I sent him the IM telling him how creative and wonderful his place was. Not exactly those words, but words to that effect. He has never responded, but that doesn't mean I have not tried to speak to him inworld. Both of you speak to me as if I have a hidden agenda. As if I must KNOW that folks like you are waiting to come into this thread and bring negativity. Well, life has its lemons, and I have learned to just make lemonade when presented with them. So, I may think of you as lemonade, but it doesn't mean I don't like you. And because there may be negativity when someone tries to do something positive doesn't mean they shouldn't try anyway. Otherwise nothing much would get done that is positive. You see? If I avoided situations because someone or thing would stand against it - what would that make me? I think a coward and someone complicit by default. I believe strongly in speaking up when I think something wrong is being done - I don't wait for a better time or situation. I do what is not popular or pleasant in order to make a point. Sorry if my attempt is annoying or irritating or not according to your 'rules' - but I am not playing by your rules - am I? Nor do I have to. Its my world - my imagination. If you or anyone else does not like what the heart of this thread is about - then please leave. If you believe that I am being insincere and calculating, I think that says alot more about you then it does about me. You think I have a hidden agenda - and I just don't. Sorry - I am just not that complicated. If you don't get it - start your own thread. Your responding to me here - like this - is just annoying and irritating to me, and, hey, its my thread!!

It may be "your thread" but it is a public forum. You did not say "You have no clue who I am", you said 'You have no clue", which implies ignorance and stupidity. I have never said you were insincere or calculating - hypocritical perhaps, but that is all. I did not say you have a hidden agenda, I don't know where on earth you get that from. It does however seem naieve to expect a "Anshe Chung Praise' thread to not attract detraction as well. She is a very polarizing figure in our community, for good or bad. It is interesting that you talk about "not doing something according to our rules" and then demand people act a certain way in "your thread". The very same people you are rallying against are the ones that are not waiting for a better time or situation, but speaking how they feel because they feel something is wrong, the same thing you claim to be doing. Why is your indignance more important than anyone elses? I said nothing negative about Anshe in this thread, thank you very much, per your directive. Notice your little comment about no clue also managed to attract the same reaction from the very person you said it to.I can say to someone "You're an idiot ", but the smiley faces don't soften it any or make it less offensive. You can use all the "making lemonade out of lemons" metaphors and huff and puff in this thread, but we are all free to speak our mind, not just you Ursa, your thread or not. You find people posting in your thread in opposition to your point irritating? Many find the thread irritating altogether. To each their own. There is nothing wrong with the thread, but if you post something like it, you have to expect all kinds of responses, including negative ones, as you do not control what people will post.

From: Ursa Falcone Cat, I 'singled' yours out for two reasons:
1 - Your buying and selling land thread is full of Anshe bashing - yes there have been others, but that thread happened to be the 'last straw' for me.
2 - I have read threads in the past - here and in SLUniverse - that were bashing YOU.
SO, yes to make a point. But I don't think that I said bad things about you.
When I said the part at the end of my post about life being short I was more into a universal YOU mode.
I respect your point of view and in many ways agree with it. I am sorry if I have offended you personally. That really isn't my intent. My purpose here and in other threads I have interjected my thoughts/feelings is to try to do things differently - and to maybe get others to see/do things differently. 1. did i bash Anshe in that thread? No 2. understandable Ursa; No worries ok I'm not insulted I was just wondering way I was being singled out. Thank you for the explination I have also read many of your posts and find that you do try to be very fair and open. Thank you *edit to add; As I continued to read the posts that continued. I would like to suggest you take a break from the forums. I tell you this from experience, I see your tone changing post after post and it saddens me to see your posts change in such a negative way. Perhaps a generic discussion would have been a better approach. For example, how should people behave when discussing a controversial member of the community whose actions have been demonstrated time and again to violate rules and accepted ethical behavior? Are there ways to approach such a topic without allowing the dialogue to degenerate into vituperative name-calling? Can we agree on how to behave when we disagree about a person's behavior?
Probably not, but -- by centering the discussion around a particular person in this thread, the comments were guaranteed to become inflammatory.

Well, I think Anshe rocks!
She tames the cycles of boom and bust and stabilizies the economy with her buying and selling. She is a market maker which creates liquidity and is paid a small profit for this service.
When greenspan says that the US market can absorb shocks, the same goes for SL and it is because of people like Anshe.

From: Cristiano Midnight I have never said you were insincere or calculating - hypocritical perhaps, but that is all. I did not say you have a hidden agenda, I don't know where on earth you get that from. . Cristiano, in the following quote you stated that I am "more then a bit disingenuous" Here is the quote: "You start a thread to provide positive feedback, knowing full well the outcome, lamenting personal attacks, and then make one yourself. More than a bit disingenuous, I must say." Disingenuous means: 1.Not straightforward or candid; insincere or calculating: “an ambitious, disingenuous, philistine, and hypocritical operator, who... exemplified... the most disagreeable traits of his time” (David Cannadine). That is the first meaning of the word. If you meant something else, then perhaps you should have used a different word. I find the above meaning to be the most commonly used. From: someone It is interesting that you talk about "not doing something according to our rules" nd then demand people act a certain way in "your thread". The very same people you are rallying against are the ones that are not waiting for a better time or situation, but speaking how they feel because they feel something is wrong, the same thing you claim to be doing. Why is your indignance more important than anyone elses?. I have not said that my indignation is any more or less important. A thread to counterbalance all of the other indignation and to give a different perspective seemed appropriate to me. One person cannot be responsible for such misery and suffering - if we aren't ever able to see that - then we will never get to a solution. Some of you seem to be stuck with the idea that Anshe is somehow the antiChrist. She is a good player - in a land of opportunity. She is not in a playground filled with little yippy skippy children - spoiling their fun. We should not be tar and feathering one of our community because of a system that allows things to happen that aren't 'popular'. I don't feel like I need to explain this to you again. If I do then I will state now that I don't have the patience. From: someone You can use all the "making lemonade out of lemons" metaphors and huff and puff in this thread, but we are all free to speak our mind, not just you Ursa, your thread or not. You find people posting in your thread in opposition to your point irritating? Many find the thread irritating altogether. To each their own.. When you are finished trying to diminish me, and my thread, please let me know. I wouldn't want to forget to come back and read the rest of your interesting insights and commentary - really fascinating! From: someone There is nothing wrong with the thread, but if you post something like it, you have to expect all kinds of responses, including negative ones, as you do not control what people will post. Nowhere have I ever said that I didn't EXPECT you folks to come here and try to take over the thread. I was/am willing to go ahead and take on the task of defending the right to take a stand against group bashing of an individual in RL and/or SL. And I am sure there are others out there who have not missed that effort, may agree with it in fact, and can see that I am not doing this for Anshe - herself. I am doing this because we as a group need to stop and think about what we are doing sometimes. Group bashing because of not liking the way someone plays the game - someone who plays by the rules. That is my purpose in this thread. Can you see that? There is a BIG difference. This is for Cat - thanks for the advice. I appreciate and acknowledge that I am being worn down by this 'stuff' - so I will take it from one who knows how it feels to be battle weary! *Ursa breaths a sigh of relief - and snuggles into her Saturday morning pillow*

From: Lisse Livingston I love that house too, Kris! She's using it in an ad?! Wow, and I try so hard not to include neighboring buildings when I take my property pictures too....
Oh, this is the anti-bash thread. Okay, sorry.
Um. Anshe once reported someone to LL because he was putting up rude signs next to a piece of land and snow cabin I had for sale. She told me what he was doing wasn't right. And of course she was correct. Oddly, the rude signs were defaming Paris Parks for cheating him, but anyway... Nice of you, Anshe. Thanks.
Eggy, do you still have my tree house on your beautiful estate? Need me to set it for sale? Yes Lisse, I would love to have a copy of that

Thank you for addressing my post directly and not just attacking Cristiano to avoid doing it. . . (THAT was sarcasm)
I received no IM from you (although I am OFTEN AFK, and could very well have missed it) I do appreciate the sentiment you have expressed here (THAT was not sarcasm)
We've had thread after thread like this come up, every time we have a new villain in SL. They always turn out like this, and it hurts me, because, more so than a discussion with said villain, these type of threads really do directly hurt that person, as no issue is being discussed, but rather the person themselves.
I said in my last post (which I'm not sure your read - I tend to be long winded and I apologise for that) that I did not Actually believe your intentions were nefarious, but was baffled as to what purpose you thought this thread would serve - and especially now, since you say you did know how it would turn out.
Please don't try and say your first post to me was not condescending. I have no clue? wth? Once again, try talking/getting to know me before you make such rash decisions. I do not think your one IM, which apparently I wasn't around to receive, counts as such.
I know that your intentions were good, but your method was, at best, misguided or uninformed (perhaps read some old threads, I suggest maybe a dablling of Alby Yellowknife) and you have achieved the exact opposite of doing something nice for the person you intended to do such for. And you 'knowing' the outcome, we once again hit a logical wall with the whole good intentions thing. Please go to the beginning of this paragraph and read again, and continue in this loop of illogic until, like me, your head pops.
Anshe can, and does, give as good as she get. Her resolve in her relentlessness IS extraordinary. I know I, if some day I became evil or decided to roleplay evil, would not be able to stand against such overwhelming social pressure. I absolutely do not appreciate what Anshe is doing in/to SL, but more and more, I've come to realise that THAT might be her true goal. Some people, as evidenced time and time again, LIKE to be villains. Just leave her to her villainy.

Ursa,
I won't quote your condescending post point by point. Thank you for your ability to run to dictionary.com and copy and paste. I know fully well what the word disingenuous means. I wanted to express more than just hypocrisy.
I have never said that Anshe was the anti-Christ. However, on the issue of "someone who plays by the rules", there are several sets of them that can be violated, as she has demonstrated. You can play by the rules to the letter, and still be a contemptible asshole. There is nothing wrong technically with convincing a newbie to sell their land for pennies on the dollar and then turning around and marking it up 1000% or more. It's just a really shitty way to act. There is nothing wrong technically from bidding on every plot in an auction as high as you can to win them, just for the purpose of turning right back around and marking those plots up to sell to the people you just beat out. It is just a rather lame thing to do just because you have the financial resources to do so. Many people do not have thousands of dollars to blow on auctions, but would still like the chance to buy land cheaply to build on without interference by Anshe's "service".
You can play by the rules of the game and still have horrible ethics. You can be publicly very nice and be privately nasty, because image is important to business. Those who have experienced it, however, know differently. Again, no rule broken, but hardly worthy of praise. I won't even get into the hundreds of dollars in land tier fees that were recently skirted while making thousands off of land sales, we'll leave that one alone I am not sure which rules you speak of, they change so often, but Anshe has never played by the rules that many people hold to be important.
As Oneironaut said, Anshe gives as good as she gets, if not more so. While your intentions on this thread may have been good, even if not really about Anshe, we all know what they say about good intentions.
