Autism in SL

Just browsing the posts by a certain Torley have given me a kindof "I'M AUTISTIC LOOK AT ME" vibe. Now, firstly, she can't be autistic as the way she is using the word implies, because an autistic person is not capable of the kind of interaction she is displaying, to call yourself "Autistic" puts you to the low functioning (bad) end of the scale.

Someone with an autistic spectrum disorder who could be called autistic WOULD NOT be on a social game like secondlife, and would definatly not be displaying the extreme level of social awareness and motivation Torley appears to have. You must be low functioning to say "i have autism, and if you're low functioning it's highly unlikely you'll say that, because if you've ever met a person with it you'll know.
I took offense to the fact she referred to it as a "disibility". Low functioning Autism is a disability, and there is no way she has it, it is illogical as she displays non of the symptoms.
Now, where i am going with this is that telling people you're "autistic" when in fact you have "an autistic spectrum disorder" is an extremely mis-leading and wrong thing to do. I know because i have Asperger's Syndrome, and i have never felt the need to mention it to anyone, ever, nor would i want to, and i am definatly NOT autistic.
Also another thing which bugged me is the fact Torley said in her SL universe interview that she found it hard to explain things without emoticons, well, anyone with anything that could be called Autism is about as likely to understand meaningless horseshit like as i am ready to stop trying to make women like and accept star wars.
So, i just want to advise Torley to tone it down and stop giving mis-leading information about being "Autistic", because i know a consider amount about autism, having an ASD myself, and i know that it is terribly mis-leading to introduce yourself as Autistic, because calling yourself Autistic is telling people you have an illness which you do not have, and this is a lie so it is wrong. I also feel that with every post and comment Torley makes about autism, a little more ignorance is put into circulation and social standards which i nor any of the people with ATDs i know are erected which we cannot stand up to.
Music makes my ears hurt and shakes my brain so i don't like that either. And flame me if you wish, because i'll probably never read this post again.

But there are no implications of you being a liar, but there are implications for people who suffer and are thought of differently and without sympathy because liars pretend they have a disability for some reason which many people have told me is to get friends. This also angers me because i sometimes lose friends because i can't understand their faces and don't know what to say to them.

Interview with SL universe, you told ignorant people to look into disabilities when dealing with people with autism. The implication of Torey who i now believe is you having a disability is out of the question.

The implication is that people should learn about a disability, but in fact you have no disability because i have what you have, and i know that it is not a disability and take offense to the implication i do. Also, as you have no disability you have lied so you have done wrong. Pretending you are disabled is also illegal.

My parents BOTH work with autistic children, and they all express themselves in different ways, this thread is utter bollocks and the sooner they lock it the better.
