Where the heck did the connection between furries and animal sex come from? I don't even think these classify as furries, do they? They're just animal avatars. I mean, in other games, like, Lineage II for example, do people get harrassed for being an Elf? No.

It's just another type of avatar. People create them because we can't create them with the appearance tools. No one is having sex with animals. (and I doubt anyone is having sex with you, either...)

Well, they called us Furries. We never really wanted to use that term. Actually, the avatar builders *specifically* tried to dissociate from that term, mainly because of what a lot of folks like the SA Goons "think" it means.

As I've said before, We'll build *any* sort of avatar. As long as it's PG compliant.

There is no sex in the champagne room, or anywhere else in our sim that I know of for that matter.

I think an anthro-av walk across SL is in order. Packs, herds, pods, etc. Maybe we can keep the SA'ers away with methane....

To anyone defending furries, I was once as naive as you, and I damn sure wish I'd have stayed that way and never heard about the disgusting zoophile perverts. If you can't see why we're so repulsed at the idea, you should do some reading up on the "lifestyle".

There's no reason to dislike an entire group of people just because they visit a different forum either.

Whether you are from SA or you wear an animal avatar, it doesn't matter. A lot of the people who play this game are taking things way too seriously.

Learn to read. I never specified him as a gay-basher. I was referring to the group as in the plural 'you', and the gay-bashing was in reference to an action taken by members of SA talked about on another post in a seperate area of the forums.

Each person is different and should be judged according to their own behavior and not the behavior of their race, sexual preference, or the Internet forums they visit of all things.

Some of you seem to be targeting the entirity of this massive and diverse assortment of Something Awful members, while at the same time telling them not to be prejudice against groups.

I think all of this is just a big joke by the SA people. Maybe they are just trying to get a rise out of us and it's working cos people are up in arms and posting about it, and they are loving the attention their antics are getting.

When it comes down to it...if they are harrassing people in game or shooting outside areas where shooting is legal, report them for abuse. Otherwise, best ignore it and they will get bored and leave. Don't give them the attention they want.

Being a furry isn't a lifestyle choice. It's a strange taste in porn/fetish for most, and a source of friends for lonely individuals for others. The exception to the rule is the 'lifestylers' who are another case entirely. You ever met one of those? Wowza.

They are downright rare though, and when someone attacks furries as a whole, they aren't talking about them specifically. (Although they are a major contributor to the negative opinions most have of furries)

The whole reason why SA people go after furries is because of how they react to it. If you chuckle at someone into almost any other messed up fetish, the individuals will usually laugh with you, and admit that yeah, it's pretty strange. Furries go into a whirlwind of fury (lol pun) and act like you just firebombed their hometown, because you suggested that getting off on bugs bunny is a little bit out there. They are a target because of the way they react to criticism more than anything.

And yes, I realize not every single furry is into furry porn. The ones who aren't are, frankly, the minority nowadays. Most of the sane ones don't even call themselves furries anymore, so painting the ones who still do as nutty is usually a pretty safe bet.

I'm not here to debate the ethics of somethingawful goons griefing furries for kicks, I'm just trying to explain why it's being done in the first place.



The difference is that we are human beings, and thus being sexually attracted to humans isn't considered beastiality.
