Jeez.. Another Nameless Twit..

OK... something I would be happy to share with any private island sim owner who cares to IM me, or anyone in the mainland with a substantial chunk of land.. is the name of the Nameless Twit who decided to build a 3,500 prim "stealth build". Luckily it was spotted quickly and though neither of the sim owners was online, a Linden was asked to come and eject said squatter.

This nameless twit continued to argue that they had a perfect right to do this provided they weren't caught... and that they had been doing it, and planned to continue doing it. That it usually took a few days for the owner to find it... yada yada.

So private sim owners.. beware and IM me so you can add this Nameless Twit to your ban list proactively.

Not only does he build unwanted crap on others land, he thinks he has the right to do this on the grounds that people don't notice right away? That's pretty nervy.

And yet, not the first time I have heard the "Its ok until I get caught, and THEN I will take it down" arguement.

If I were a script whiz I'd rig my land to secretly allow a specified number of outsider prims to be rezzed. Enough to let them get elaborate with their stealth build and devote some time on it Then they'd reach the fatal number and their
"masterpiece" would be autoreturned or deleted. Surprise!

lol great idea, have them spend sooo much time, and then poof all gone ( well all unrezzed) too bad there's no auto delete feature.

I DO wonder what these people are like in real life and I sincerely pity their neighbors, family, pets... passerbys, if they have the same attitudes they show here.

I don't really know what other action to take except banning at the first offense and warning other community members. We don't want to close our island either to casual visitors, nor do we want to make it difficult for the people who legitimately build here.

Maybe I can be accused of starting a secret inner cabal of private sim owners oppressing the asshat.

I bet a lot of them are more subdued with their Real Life neighbors, since there's the "get strangled" risk

The unfortunate thing is, of course, that all that rage gets crushed up into a tiny little ball and burns from within in the hellfires of denial and repression.

In the early days of my sim, I found a group of squatters in the northeast corner of my sim. They had set up camp. My first reaction was "friggn griefers". But some one pointed out the humor in their little camp site, with the tents and campfires. So I put a fish on the fire for them. I guess that was a signal to them, that as a sim owner, was approachable and they were not considered total outcasts on this sim. Ok so the moral of this little story is some of those guys matured in SL and have become creative and contributing residents, while revealing themselves not as griefers, but interesting and fun people.

I believe there is a subculture that does alot of "squatting". I completely agree that squatters do not have the right to squat, and I do understand the plight of a sim owner, but once and awhile there is behind that av of a squatter or griefer, there is someone worth getting to know.

Ferran imed me about this incident, and tho I am not terribly familiar with all the parties involved, and they are not the same guys as in my story, I do know one in particular. He is a good guy and does some extremely creative work. I am sorry to hear he was involved with this.

I dont think iming the names of those involved around SL is the best solution. There are always at least two sides to every story.

I logged on one day to find a beautiful little raised decked cabin on my beach - all custom made - including planted garden and furniture. It was so pretty I took a photo before I returned all the unlinked pieces

I've also had people refurnish Heaven or Hell to their personal tastes, with furniture and all sorts (some quite unmentionable!).

But then I've also had asshats rez 50 dance floors of 50 or so prims each and stuff. Oh, and one particularly sweet young lady decided to rez 10x10x10 transparent blocks over all the entranceways and doors to the various parts of the sim. I only found out when someone asked me 'how do I get into Hell' o.o

Fortunately she was suspended for it. Mwahaha.

Likewise, I'd like a name to add to my ban list please.

oeh i don't own a big land but i'd love to know the twits name so my pretty doggies Zohra , Dumak and Kazan kan attack him.

And reminder ban list only go up to 60m.

So a robot is more effective.

I also have my land on auto return...so anything that's NOT being built by my jumps right back into the person's inventory.

+ i'm nearly 24/7 on my land so if i notice someone building on it , i'll gladly send my 3 precious laser launching pit bulls after him/her.

And also against the TOS. The height limit is there for a reason.

IM me too, if you don't mind. We've had a lot of problems with this type of thing at the Aerodrome in the past, and Seacliff and Spitoonie are no stranger to it either. I'll update the ban lists and security at all three.

Is it just me. or do the Lindens seem to go to a lot more trouble to protect the griefers from us, than us from them?

It's not just you. It's rather tiresome sometimes.

He's banned from all of Indigo... and I believe, he's the first resident to manage to be banned from the SANDBOXES.
