City of Heroes: Opinions Wanted

I'm on Guardian. It seems to have the lowest average load, and the people are friendly. I even saw George W Bush and John Kerry teaming up.

EDIT: Oh, and... 15 minutes before server shut-down tonight, I finally went into one of the dangerous areas of the game.

Took me 30 seconds to find a group, and MAN was fighting with them fun. I've never had that much of an easy time finding a group before in any MMORPG (not that I try often, because I tend to dispise socializing), and I've NEVER had that much fun actually BEING in a group.

well if Guardian has the lowest load, i propose Guardian for the unofficial SL server

BTW if anyones confused CoH is released this Wednesday, but the people that preordered have been on since Sunday.

I still think it's silly that 90% of the guys I've seen (admittedly only by watching someone else play) seem to have some kind of haste ability or whatever it is. What's that all about?

The haste ability is a prestige power given to those who pre-ordered the game. The game is being released today. Those who buy the game today do not get that power.

All that Haste is is Sprint with special effects. I use it to add Jumping enhancements to and add Run Speed Increase enhancement to Sprint.

does that mean there will or won't be a central SL server? just curious, so if i decide to try it i know where to go..

oh, and should i try to find it in a store so i can have the manual and the cool box and stuff? or is it cool to just download it from the site?

I got the game last night but could not log in.

Depends, how smart are you and how willing are you to do a search of the forums they have? The manual has info on /binds and /macros, but beyond that, not too much info besides a complete listing of powers.

The box does have a map, I hear. I'm off to get mine in a couple of hours.

Well I chose Justice based on some friends outside SL that are playing, and saw it mentioned here too. But I'm an alt-aholic so more than willing to play anywhere, and with the Sidekick system it won't even really penalize people.

The manual is really nice, a handy guide to pretty much everything. Like Moleculor said though, you can find it all on the web and I'm sure they have a pdf version somewhere or something similar.

This game is killing my mornings, I'm going to have to force myself to log out at a reasonable hour. ;)

I got up at 9

Rode my bike to Compusa.

Rode my bike to Best Buy, as the heat started to rise here in Az.

They at fist didn't have it, guy said it was supposed to be in tomorrow.

But then he was real nice and checked stock anyways.

YAY! they had it.

Rode bike back home in 95 degree weather.

Almost passed out.

Well i don't have a CC.

I plan to buy Game cards.

But since i spent all my money getting the game, i don't have one

it won't let me sign up W/O a CC or a GC

I"M SOOOOO TICKED OFF!!!!!

I doubt anyone would let me borrow there CC and then cancel right away just so i can friggen play :/

Any other ideas?

You expected something different? Hell, even SL has that kind of requirement.

Eh, some of them don't require credit card info until the month included in the box runs out. It is thus not an entirely unreasonable expectation. I know in DAoC you don't have to put in billing info until your first month runs out.

ya and with AO i didn't need a CC or GC.

Wich server is gonna be the SL one?

I am currently playing as Pyroblazer (guess my powers) on Pinnacle. I'd be interested in playing on a server with other SLers and forming a supergroup.

we have to many votes for all different servers of people with established characters, is anyone willing to all start new chars on a server just to get this SL group together? i am but LOL i just Finlay started last night

Options -> General -> Mouse Movement -> Inverted
Makes the camera behave similar to alt-zoom
