Bann Christmas at Schools in the United States? What's next?

Because of this seperation of Church and State..now these ACLU people or whomever is trying to have the Holiday Celebration of Christmas banned from Schools. Next they will be saying because we pay Real Estate Personal Property Tax to the Government we can't Celebrate Christmas at home..THIS IS F*CKING RIDICULAS!!

I absolutely do think they should ban Christmas in schools. Or at least make it optional.

I am not religious. I absolutely do not believe in a Christ or a God. And yet every year at school I was forced to join in their christian religious celebrations.

NO one is forced..if you don't want to Celebrate it..don't.

I didnt realise you were at my school! I was FORCED. I can choose to get away from it at home, sure. I can't when I have to attend mandatory lessons where they preach religion to us, and teach us all about christmas and participate in christmas related activities.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm happy to learn about it, as long as it isnt forced down my throat as 'the way i am supposed to live my life' which it was.

They should learn to respect all beliefs and religions, and those who choose not to hold any.

So why do they actively promote christmas to all while denying people of other faiths or lack thereof of from pursuing their own beliefs in a similar 'sponsored' way?

Just a point and example..not saying anyone is UnAmerican. If I didn't believe in Nazi Germany..I would try my damness to get the hell away from it. Of course there are gonna be people that try to change it. What people want to believe or religion they want to practice is their preference. I don't think anyone should be forced to do anything as far as religion..I think schools should allow everyones beliefs..weather they be Jewish..Chinese..whatever. Take 1 hour in how ever many class rooms to acknowledge each ones beliefs..if you are athiest..then you don't need a class room to acknowledge any belief.

Oh and in answer???? Those that don't believe in god are in the United States because I and many like me gave the fucking best years of their life in uniform to insure they didn't have to believe in god. Happy ????

My point is..you gave your time to insure Freedom of Religion..not opress it. YOu have the right to practice or believe whatever you want. Though I don't do much preying..If iam at a school and bow my head and prey..should I or anyone be arrested or forced not to do so?

If there is a State sponsered school which should abide by "Seperation of Church and State" so be it..but I hope it never comes down to a Police State where individuals cannot bow thier head silently in preyer and then be put away in Prison for it. That's basically my point.

Forcing Christianity on people is just fine and dandy, but anyone who would force you to respect people of other religions and beliefs by not allowing you to have Christian specific rituals practiced in public schools is unamerican and should leave the country? Typical. And people wonder why some of us have such a bad attitude towards Christians.

Just what I mean't..what's next? Is there gonna be a Police State? As far as the "In God We Trust" statement...If I went to China and the Majority of the beliefs in schools practiced Buddism..and I don't believe in it..should I complain about it? The Majority may soon change in the United States regarding religion..and what the Majority believes I can only voice my opinion..if I hate it that much..I have no choice but to accept it or leave until it changes. I would not however be offended if I attended a Chinese school and had to respect the Majorities belief.

The very foundations of this country are based on a secular government and freedom of religion. The founders of this great Nation came here because of religious prosecution, if I remember correctly...

Religion does not belong in public schools. If you want your kids to have xian rituals as part of their school day, send them to parochial school. That's what they're for. The majority does not have a right to coerce children to participate in their rituals.
