Lots of people are working on many amazing projects in SL. Most of these people rarely make a peep on the forums. SL really is making a difference in many people's lives. Don't let the bad signal to noise ratio on the forums get you down.

Cubey, you're one of the few big names in SL I respect(besides some of the IRC big names -- but they don't count. ). Don't let this shit get to you. Build for the enjoyment, not the money.

On a serious side, Cubey, growing a world ground-up is bound to have some issues and some personalities - some good, some not-so-good. We've all seen the bickering back and forth, but thankfully, most people recognize thier error and come forth with it.

It's not going to be a perfect world, but it is a world which only those that participate can help shape. You and your skills are needed - not so I can continue to buy your amazing crafts, but so others can see what *can* be done.

Please take some time to breathe, relax, and think over your decision to leave Cubey. You would be sorely missed.

Cubey I gotta throw my vote in with the "don't leave" crowd. Your work is beautiful and you contribute so much to SL. I hope you change your mind.

Cubey, I'll rehash some advice I keep meaning to follow myself.

First-
The world seems a better place if you step away from the "news" for a while (in this case the forums). Take a couple weeks away from them. Everything will seem a lot friendlier.

Second-
Sometimes it seems like the whole group or community you are involved with has gone sour, but it's not the whole group. It's always just a few specific individuals. They make out like their opinions represent the larger community, but they don't. Any attack or bad influence in your life can always be traced to a particular person. Disconnect with that one person, not the whole world.

And Cubey, I hope you manage to get back on your feet soon, and make a good life wherever it may take you.

Everyone else is just as sick of Ulrika's crap and sees through it as easily as you did, Cubey. She is the exception, not the rule. Don't let people like her and attitudes like that drive you out of the game.

actually, that's barely true. most people don't decide between vehicles they buy one of each of comparable models. though some take longer than others. Not to mention you're a bit more prolific than I am . so in truth I'd be loosing a sort of brother in arms :/. Anyway, I like you, so don't leave darnit!

Cubey, I hope it's not only about the forums. I rarely visit. SL is SL, not people writing about it here. Stay in SL and let me continue to buy your planes - I've only just discovered them

Don't you dare leave before paying me for that last shipment of faux leather for your aircraft seats. I've had a crew out all last week slaughtering the fauxcows, stripping, tanning the hides; there's no demand at all for fauxcow meat right now either, so the carcasses were just left out in the field, they're stinking my place up to high heaven!












Seriously, if you have RL stuff that you need to contend with, it's one thing. You're one of my consistently favorite creators in SL though, and I have a small collection of Cubey Terra aircraft. I look forward to seeing each new thingy that you create; if you're disappointed with how people are acting inworld or in-forums, take a break from the forums for a bit, and restrict yourself to hanging with friends and people you admire for awhile. Hope you don't leave, Cubey

I for one would be very sad to see you leave. I've never had anything but respect for you. I know my boycott post has upset you because I'm taking on your business partners but I give you my word of honor it is only to affect positive change. I feel terrible about hurting you.

Still I want you to try and understand that addressing and understanding social and political issues is just as important to me as building planes is to you. It means so much to me! Please respect my right to pursue my own interests in SL. Please.

Let's all take a break for the forums for a while and come back when we're feeling better. We'll have a group hug session.

I'd like to echo these two wise sentiments in the "take a few breaths" department. Cubey, you and your various creative endeavors have become such an integral part of many folks' Second Life that I hope you reconsider this decision. I also hope you are not finding yourself in a financial situation that is contributing to making you feel bad.

Take a break from SL. Especially, take a break from the forums. Everyone deserves a respite now and then. You are an extremely talented designer and scripter that I look up to in SL, and I would sincerely hate to see you leave the place that we all dream about becoming the Metaverse.

Get some rest, refuel, and come back and see us again when you are ready!

I've said it before, but I'll say it again... LL needs to clamp down on these forums. These forums are not an integral element of SL. SL should be able to exist without the forums. The forums should be the accessory to SL - helpful forums. However, for a few people, the forums have become the "Main Event" with SL becoming the accessory.

I wonder how many non-forum goers in SL would recognize many of the names frequenting these forums. To me, there are two separate SL worlds, in-world and forum-world. And I don't see any of the forum-world residents in-world save two... Cubey and Torley. As far as I know, the others don't exist in SL. Of course, this statement may be slanted for me because I don't get out much beyond a few projects and the Welcome Area.

Cubey, ignore the forum users whom you don't agree with. There's nothing wrong with that. Yes, it's personal censorship, but so be it for the betterment of your SL life. I don't think you came to SL or the forums to argue. If you have problems with folks in-world, then handle those problems... but don't let the forums get in your way. If you have problems with accusations made against you in the forums, then file a complaint - but don't try to take people head-to-head. As for forum-fighting, there's no reason a bunch of "bleacher creature"/sideline observers should participate in certain discussions of which they don't have all the facts.

By the way, SL is not a democracy, nor a Republic.
