I know this is like 4 pages in but maybe you will read it and understand where im coming from.
Ive been considered christian all my life, but really am starting to doubt and turn into a psuedo athiest of sorts. Lets put down some 100% statements, We cant remember anything about the 100s of thousands of "years" before we were born. After we die in this world we never ever return here to make any impact ever again. Next take a look at whats going on in the world, poverty, death, war, crooked politicians making millions. Racism and other predijuices still going on constantly. These things do not just happen a little bit, this is covering the globe. As we are constantly making more and more babies, everything will get more and more expensive. Can you see where im coming from, basically how would The Christian view of God let these things happen.. Besides(and this is my main point), growing up in school around the 90s, We were taught very little on current events and the like. We were taught about old civilizations mostly. Ive gone and looked up information for my own education to find ive learned many many lies from the school. If the school cant tell us the truth about the last 300 years, how can you believe they are telling the truth about 1000s of years ago. If they cant document anything from 7000-1400 truthfully, how can i be expected to believe these legends from 1000s of years ago. I think Religion is basically just to teach good morals and ethics and wish it would work, yet if you look how many rude jerks you run into everyday it isnt working.... Hope you read this, i think i explained what i meant to well. |

He had to...I mean, what's the point of making mindless automatons? But the thing about Free Will is people get to choose death, doom, destruction, and entropy. If you tell a child, "I have a plate of cookies, but I don't want you to eat any them."...I will bet you money the first question the child asks is, "Really?? Where are they?" God doesn't cause racism and prejudice, humans do. He doesn't even cause hurricanes and tsunamis; that's just the natural world behaving in the way it has to....the behaviors that supply us with life in the first place, BTW.Besides(and this is my main point), growing up in school around the 90s, We were taught very little on current events and the like. We are all jerks, and will step on each others toes until the day we die. Belief in God, or any higher power, is seperate from worldly things. Faith is not about what you can see, it's about what you *cant* see. What you know in your heart. Your morals and ethics come from faith...because it's plainly evident that having no morals or ethics can get you far in this world. Most people do not get this paradox, but it is very true: Absolute Truth is subjective. Come to terms with that, and you'll be much more comfortable in your faith, whatever faith that may be. _____________________
