Feel free to post from the DMCA to make your point, or I'll continue to post your opinions where they belong. Nnnno - you seem to be confused once again. I post my opinions, because they're my content, and I hold copyright over the expression of them. You /don't/ have copyright over the expression of them, and perhaps that goes to the root of your confusion. You seem to have confused me with someone else. I have some experience and familiarity with intellectual property law in my day to day job, so I do have some idea of the implications of it - which is why I post opinions and why I also take pains to point out that I am not a lawyer so that my opinions cannot be confused with legal advice. My experience is similar to Ulrika's, in that I co-authored/contributed to a major games system where my contributions were misappropriated after a great deal of work. Before that happened, I routinely had to deal with copyright and intellectual property for that games system while designing and contributing to another games system so that I maintained a clear distinction between the two. And that was just my hobby - where I am also a published author with Library of Congress catalogue numbers for several of my publications and registered copyrights, which I registered and administer myself. When Creative Commons came along, I promptly consumed everything they had available. I rather like them. Professionally I hold several copyrights as well - it's not a co-incidence that I happened to have the background necessary to debunk several of your claims in other threads in this forum, because /surprise/ I'm a professional researcher & scholar, as well as a former computer systems administrator. Until N'burg had the incident regarding Ulrika's intellectual property, I was participating in Second Life as an interesting advancement in computer science in distributed platforms - the 'novel social experiment' was in the back of my mind until I saw the N'burg fallout happening and then Second Life - and the Forums - became /fascinating/ to me and even valuable to my studies. I'm not going to quote from the DMCA because that would be irrelevant, and frankly I feel that beginning a discussion on the relevant points of intellectual property law and theory would be like showing a dog a card trick - The Moving Finger Writes, and Having Writ - Moves On. -- Omar Khayyam. |

Yeah, we wouldn't want this most important thread to be derailed. We MUST know who will bribe Ulrika into joining their forum. |

In Summary

1. AV makes a Govt on a Sim, does majority of work, enlists a loyal sidekick.
2. AV posts intelluctually in forums about her govt - admired by few. 3. AV humbly campaigns that her govt is run by the people and if she is voted out she will be happy to step aside. Loyal sidekick agrees its a govt run by the people. 4. AV continues with intelluctual and promotional posts, creates her own forum and moderates accordingly - gains a few more sidekicks, admired by many more, annoyed by few. 5. AV gets voted out of her own Govt, cant really step aside, feelings hurt, turns into sour grapes. Turns trival forum moderation matters into full blow forum drama because she cant let go of her founding creations. Loyal sidekick continues to defend her bosses outrageous actions and adds a few of their own. 6. AVs forum posts are no longer intellectual but mostly sour humor and personal attacks on various SL communities. Still admired by few, but mostly forum drama trolls who feed on her rants by stroking her with compliments in order to get a chuckle. Loyal side kicks pronounce all out war, trolls add fuel to the fire, overall annoyed by many, the rest dont care. 7. AVs initial govt started now becomes a flop due to forum drama. AV realizes her govt failure was due to her emotional instability and constant flame wars in the forums. Her loyal sidekicks and unwavering forum trolls magnified the seemingly significant SL govt project into a historical SL joke. 8. AV continues to seek approval and recognition in forums by disguisng her bitterness and failures with caddy humor, an occasional intellectual topic, and witty commentarys or polls. Continues to be admired by her sidekicks, humored by many who still need forum drama to pass their time away, annoyed by most, and the rest dont care. 9. After damage is done and most is forgotten, AV campaigns "this is not the real me its my character" hire me because I can keep the pot stirred on your somewhat dull forum. As Jack Nicholas quotes in one of his movies, "You want me on that wall, you need me on that wall!" 10. Laugh Out Loud, and you all thought I was crazy! |

Yeah, we wouldn't want this most important thread to be derailed. We MUST know who will bribe Ulrika into joining their forum. No, we must determine which forum you are migrating to. What would your forum experience be like unless you had Finning /and/ Ulrika commenting on your public gaffes? |

Would he be more Norman Fell or Don Knotts? If Gwyn and I are Chrissy and Janet, and Kevin is Jack, then she herself would have to be Mr. Roper! There is a bit of a resemblance, (think of that episode when Mr. Roper was in drag.) I vote for Ulrika being Norman Fell because I happen to like and respect Don Knott's a great deal. ![]() As a trivia side note I can't miss the opportunity to point out that the entire 3's Company show was a horrid rip-off (word for word in the first season) of the truly excellent British comedy "Man About the House." _____________________

As Jack Nicholas quotes in one of his movies, "You want me on that wall, you need me on that wall!" 10. Laugh Out Loud, and you all thought I was crazy! actually it went more like this: The Little Red Hen Sara Cone Bryant (Retold from Joseph Jacobs) One day as the Little Red Hen was scratching in a field, she found a grain of wheat. "This wheat should be planted," she said. "Who will plant this grain of wheat?" "Not I," said the Duck. "Not I," said the Cat. "Not I," said the Dog. "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did. Soon the wheat grew to be tall and yellow. "The wheat is ripe," said the Little Red Hen. "Who will cut the wheat?" "Not I," said the Duck. "Not I," said the Cat. "Not I," said the Dog. "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did. When the wheat was cut, the Little Red Hen said, "Who will thresh the wheat?" "Not I," said the Duck. "Not I," said the Cat. "Not I," said the Dog. "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did. When the wheat was threshed, the Little Red Hen said, "Who will take this wheat to the mill?" "Not I," said the Duck. "Not I," said the Cat. "Not I," said the Dog. "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did. She took the wheat to the mill and had it ground into flour. Then she said, "Who will make this flour into bread?" "Not I," said the Duck. "Not I," said the Cat. "Not I," said the Dog. "Then I will," said the Little Red Hen. And she did. She made and baked the bread. Then she said, "Who will eat this bread?" "Oh! I will," said the Duck. "And I will," said the Cat. "And I will," said the Dog. "No, No!" said the Little Red Hen. "I will do that." And she did. From The Gingerbread Guide: Using Folktales with Young Children. Copyright 1987 Scott, Foresman and Company. _____________________

As a trivia side note I can't miss the opportunity to point out that the entire 3's Company show was a horrid rip-off (word for word in the first season) of the truly excellent British comedy "Man About the House." Many popular American shows were remakes of Britsh shows including All in the Family. I even hear rumors several years back that Rosanne Barr was considering doing an American version of Absolutely Fabulous, thankfully I don't think that ever materialized. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_British_TV_shows_remade_for_the_American_market _____________________
