BTW, if you remember correctly, you received an offer to stay away from SL and its forums. I guess we never came up with the right amount — you never mentioned skulls in your counter-proposal. Now we know where we missed. We made the mistake of offering you — yuck! — "money". All it took was some old bones. Hmm.

I don't know which is more mind-boggling -- the size of the ego or the amount of stroking it gets. Nothing personal, but just ... wow.

In all honesty, I was turned off by your offer. Originally, we were negotiating the rights to the "Neualtenburg" name, all my textures and other assets, as well as back pay for my past work on the city. Halfway through negotiations your group added three clauses that called for the closure and archiving of the Neualtenburg group forum, the addition of a gag clause that would prevent me from discussing the project or posting in the new forum, and a requirement that I never compete with the project.

I'm sorry but there is no amount of money in the world that I would trade for my freedom of speech, my right to compete, and content in the N'burg forum. Out of principle they are not for sale.

With the breakdown of those negotiations, you'll recall that you then tried to "take over" the N'burg forum by locking all users out and deleting all new posts. After a DMCA filing and an appeal to the Lindens regarding the forum, your sim name was changed and the N'burg forum was returned to Kendra and me. Also, don't think for a second that I've forgotten that I have not received compensation for my past work. I will absolutely be back to settle that in the future. You can count on it.

Remember, Alex, that Ulrika is a character, not a real person. I recognize that this character has the ability to command and hold attention through humor, creativity, drama, anger, and jealousy. Folks like Cristiano need characters to draw and maintain traffic on their site. Please recognize it has also 'ability' to be found annoying thanks to aforementioned constant egotism and atempts to grab attention by all means possible. Which i guess Alex was referring to... being a roleplayed fake or a real person has little to do with it, it's just dubious 'quality' of character in question just like self-asserted humor, creativity etc.

The other day I noticed pickled pork rinds for sale in the grocery store. It seems that some people buy them and even eat them. I don't question that they enjoy them, but I think i'll pass.

What really happened is we decided to discard the name neualtenburg. Your DMCA forced us to do absolutely NADA! It was completely in error, as DMCA has nothing to do with names. As for the forum, LL has rules that require the people who set up the forum to maintain control. Even though you both agreed it would be controlled by the N'burg government, which you both left, it had no bearing on LL's policy. Hence, you and she were able to keep it.

So, your DMCA filing was a waste, it never forced anyone to do anything. Thank you for allowing my the opportunity to clarify this issue.

It accomplished one thing, Kevbo -- At least you can no longer claim to be a Neualtenburger. Frankly that always turned my stomach.
