If /I/were informed by someone publicly (who had previously found cause to file a DMCA complaint with Linden Labs over /my/ handling of her intellectual property) that other legal recourse may in the future be pursued regarding /compensation/ for work performed - I wouldn't ever post a single iota of information - not my opinion on it, not even acknowledging the situation - without that public statement first having gone through my lawyer and my PR department. If you read her filing and feel both moved and competent to offer an opinion on it, why is it that you are apparently confusing trademarkable intellectual property with copyrightable intellectual property? Why is it apparent to me that you are unable to distinguish between the two or recognise where they overlap? Why is it apparent to me that you fail to read the entirety of what some people write, and when you are forced to, fail to construct anything of substance in response? Why is it apparent to me that you do not understand whereof you speak with regards to the law?

I have read the version of her DMCA request that she made public in the Forums. I am also bemused by the discussions that followed in which many people protested that they knew for certain that names were solely trademarkable and not copyrightable intellectual property, unaware of the possibility that when used part and parcel of a copyrightable intellectual property, the name is considered to be copyrightable as well as trademarkable.
