The results of the 2005 Aircraft Design Contest are in!

You people made this decision so very hard. All judges were very surprised not only at the sheer number, but also by the quality and creativity exercised by the contestants. After careful deliberation, however, the judges cast their decisions and settled on these winners...

In first place: Salen Welesa for her gyrocopter

In second place: Kamatz Kuhr for his VTOL tailsitter

And in third place: Trina Strauss for her float biplane

As well, I'd like to make mention of some designers who I personally feel should be acknowledged for their creative designs: Karsten Rutlege, Chase Speculaas, Maxx MacKenzie, Selene Gregoire, TxGorilla Falcone, Arrai Lobo, Akira Boyama, Mazack Frua, Miko Molinari, and Scifer Fielding.

All planes will remain on display until tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone who participated. It was great fun, and one of Abbotts Aerodrome's biggest events. I hope to see your designs again in the 2006 competition!

congrats to the winners... I was there earlier today, great builds there, it had to be hard to choose a winner :)

These planes will be on display until sometime tomorrow, so toddle on down and positively rate a few of these builders!

Really, if you've any appreciation for building or aircraft (or both) these will be a real treat!

(sigh)

You want people to toddle on down to a place where you sell merchandise?

And you're posting this in the general forum?

So, like, can I now post a thread in the general forum announcing winners of my contest and everyone can come to my plot where I sell my goods to see the winners?

You could have built for the contest, too. *pats Blaze's back* It's OK, there will be other events. :)

EDIT: Stealth edit, eh?

No, I want people to toodle on down there and look at the planes. Like I said. Don't project, lad.

OH, right, well the fact that you don't want people to do that makes everything all better.

Look folks, if you want to advertise your brand buy a classified like everyone else.

I don't care what your sign up date is, you have to play by all the same rules as the rest of us.

take a break Blaze this has nothing to do with selling or advertising, it was an event and I feel it does belong here, let the other threads do the drama thing. Until your the forum monitor I think you could spend your time at a more useful persuit.

HEY I'm all cool with flooding the general forums with my advertisements.

If you're saying I can go around posting branded contests here I'm HIP with that, just say the word GO and I'll do one every day or so.

I will also recommend to everyone else in SecondLife that's hosting a contest to post the results in the general forums because apparently it's OPEN SEASON.

I'm sorry but just because your collective start dates are whatever doesn't give you any more right than me or anyone else to go around using the general forums as your own little advertising forum.

But hey, a linden can come in here and correct me if I am wrong on this. I'd love to be wrong as I've been wanting to advertise in this way on the general forums for a very long time!

All your alts too!

I think if you did it constantly for a month eventually you'd be doing the world and the forums a wonderful service.

They weren't advertising, they were posting about an event that I think was pretty cool.. but then again you already know this - your just stirring the pot as per usual.

llSetAlpha(0.0, ALL_SIDES);

I see right through you.

Damn Blaze,

You really caught us out there. Who could possibly imagine that anyone would conceivably put on a event for the fun of it?

I'll note your complaint as meaning from now on, no one can hold an event unless it makes them money.

kthx

Even more pointed a response than I thought.

Blaze, you need to get laid soon, you are making the rest of us miserable. You need to pick your battles wisely because you are becoming part of the noise, not the message.

Look, let's go to the event tab in SecondLife for a sec, shall we?

Let's see, Today alone there is:

The Rock N Roll Jeans and T contents
Best in Thug Wear
PrimWorx Contest
Bling Contest

So you're saying, every day, these contests are allowed to post winners in the general forums?

Admittedly, they're not very original, but HELL, a flying vehicle contest? How original is that?

Tell me Huns, does that sort of ad hominem make you proud?

After you post that, do you really feel like you made a contribution by calling me a crazy person?

I'm sure you're a nice and smart guy, but really, you need to understand that everything you say reflects not on me or anyone else - but on you.

And if you want to be the guy "who goes around calling individuals crazy", then hey, that's how we'll remember you.
