So I still can't see the problem clearly here. Are you complaining you can't play for 5 hours 1 day a week or that when you are on you lag a little when the grid is up the 163 hours?

If your sim that you pay for is lagging you may want to look at what is on it.

If you are worried that you can't build and sell items, then SL has become a second job and therefore you should be interested in making sure you can continue doing so by giving up some free time to check out the preview grid.

Alot of MMOs have 'Test Centers' that players can go to and run around on and test things. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that they get to see content first, or that they like helping out or they are trying to getting into an actual paying position with tht company as QA, who knows?

We are already LL's content creation team, wich spares them a LOT of money from creating a competent and functional one by themselves

{ and later }

They already have an HELL of a content team completely for free (and do ABSOLUTELY nothing to protect or incentivate their work, by the way), so i guess many of us help LL even too much already.

If we're doing them such a huge favor, please explain why so many content creators pay LL instead of the other way around? Collective hypnosis?

MAYBE it's because we create content for ourselves.
(for fun or personal profit)

I'm trying to work out if the problem is that there are bugs - or there is downtime because of updates.

Cause it has to be one or the other.

Pshaw, without downtime, there would be no bugs. Right?

No i'm complain that in addition to those 5 hours a week (That now will at least become 5 hours every other week) there are continuous bugs, instability and problems (let's just think about the big problems the grid had for the whole day yesterday, that made almost impossible toeven send an IM to a friend).

The problem is that continuous updates done at an excessively fast pace and without proper testing by LL don't leave any time for the grid to stabilize. So when the grid is up it's continuously plagued by bugs, and before it stabilyzes it's already time for a new update, that will introduce new ones to replace the old (or on top of them).

Ok so you answered one of my questions...what about the other one how does it effect you? I'm just curious as to why laggie IMs are an issue as well as all the other issues you have.

For what it's worth I had no issue yesterday as far as lag, or any other bug that had been mentioned...but then again I may be lucky ;)

Ok then I can see your point.... I just think it bollocks.

Althought I don't agree with with LL's schedule for major point releases (big shiney features) - I do think that many of the updates that follow are useful, and tend to focus on actually trying to fix things.

And what is the grid 'stabilizing'? Bugs don't magically go away by leaving them to sit.... they have to be actively fixed and then the software updated for the changes to take effect.

Of course the big picture being overlooked is that although most updates are on a Wednesday - thats not EVERY Wednesday.. sometimes more frequent after a major point update - but by no means EVERY.....

And if it were - hell I'd be happy if every update meant a few more bugs were taken care of..

I think this is a 'damned if you do and damned if you don't' thread... Ive seen folks complain about Updates - I've seen folks complain about bugs.. this is the first time I've heard someone complain about both.
