Nope. In fact, I removed my vendors from hub malls for lack of sales.

never bought anything from a telehub barrage, nor has relation to a telehub ever been a make/break factor in whether or not I buy something.

Some places are near to them, some are far. I've never, nor have I ever heard of, anyone suddenly 'impulse buying' because an item appeared at a telehub.

nevah evah.

i dont sell any products at those malls either. they tend to have no flair, like a consistent theme in design and are often eyesores. nowadays, i dont even wait for rez, i just fly up and rez in the sky.

You guys are ALL lying and this kind of lying makes me sick. Everyone shops at telehubs. You just don't want to admit it because you all are FIC and own BOTIQUES and could never get mall property because you're too busy taking college classes to even check in on your FIC BOTIQUES! I've been on a TOUR. I know how this works. You ALL need to stop LYING.

Also, I don't shop at telehubs, but then, I don't shop in Second Life.

Never. I hate even having to pass through the lag-festy places.

Never heard of you, Jarod, much less waste time lying to you.

Wuh? We've been in the same place since *before mall property existed*.

No. Like one of the PP's I have one store I frequent that is near a telehub, but I usually take off as soon as possible and get out. I also hate the newer telehubs that have unrezzed roofs over them that slow my fleeing of the area.

On some of the roofs, for example the Waterhead telehub's, if you rightclick near the peak of the roof from the undersdie, and select "Sit Here", you pass through the roof and sit on top, and can then take off quickly.

At the DAMB Welcome Area, some of the buildings have phantom skylights and I think two of the buildings have larger phantom sections in the roof to fly out of, if you can remember which building has them, which I can't. Also at the Welcome Area the beams or molding between the roof panels is phantom, and you can use that to walk over and fall down in. Flying up through these tiny gaps would take some precision aiming, though.

Calling people liars is bad enough, but accusing people of being college students is far outside the bounds of permissible forum behavior.

I have impulse shopped a few times at a hub. Usually I fly to the destination that I searched for, which is nowhere near a hub. But a few times I have had to do something in RL mid-teleport, so when I got back to SL, the hub and surrounding area had rezzed and something caught my eye.

I don't usually wait for it to rez though, I just go up and fly away.

No. I see no reason to give my money to people who block my flight path and have obnoxious builds to boot.

I think I've only bought one thing from a shop near a telehub, and generally if I do a "Find" for a shop and discover it's near a telehub or other lag generator (for example Tringo or camping chairs or some other dwell singularity) I'll go back and search again...

There is shopping at telehubs? I could never see anything, nothing would rez while I was fleeing there as quickly as possible.

Never. I use the "Find" button to find the destinations Ineed to go. However I did stop by at a telehub once because there was this gothic structure that looked nice. Too bad it was surrounded by these really tacky shops. Didn't stay too long though because it was taking forever to rez.

If so few of us shop at hubs, why the hell do/did people pay so much for the land? It defies logic.

I would love to hear from some hub land owners, what benefits they found from paying such huge amounts for this land, apart from those who then sold it on for even more money? Possibly they get sales from newbies who then soon learn to fly up and over?

I've never purchased anything at telehub shops in all my time here.

I very rarely shop at malls anyway. Certainly, when I am doing a Find on something specific, I will never go to a mall, because I know from experience that it will involve spenting ages waiting for things to rez while I fly around becoming increasingly frustrated and failing to find what I am looking for.

Yes.

Oh, okay, no.

I was thinking about this earlier. I couldn't work out WHY telehub land was so attractive if visitors were so turned off by traps and lagging, and why people continued to build the offending structures. Didn't they realise? Didn't they find it annoying? I could only conclude that either:

(a) it's actually NOT better to have a shop at a telehub than elsewhere - it might once have been, but now it's a myth that a lot of people still believe in, encouraged by high prices ("hey, it's expensive, it must be good";)

or

(b) even though it annoys 95% of users, enough people still buy that it makes it worthwhile. I called this "land spam"; spam works on the same principle. You'd think that nobody would buy spammed products, but enough actually do that it's profitable.

It's so rare that I ever just visit a telehub unless I'm visiting a region rather than looking for a particular shop. Even if I saw something attractive at a telehub that was well designed and polite etc, I'd still go straight to the place I was originally going to first. I might, possibly, then go back. But it's so rare that I can tell that something is a shop at a a telehub, rather than an invisible grey box purgatory.
