I think the cause of chat and availability indication control might be better served by a discussion of the idea's fine points and details between the idea's supporters than by a repeated attempt to persuade a brick wall of the idea's merit.

LOL.. It wasn't that much later that I found the definition in the Linden announcements. OK, so I'm a tard ... I knew it wasn't Pinpoint... No one came up with anymore outrageous suggestions... Mulch must have not seen the thread yet, or Siggy.

I considered being a smartass but decided to be helpful instead ;)

how about p2p = poop to pie?

If someone wants to be hidden, and remain private in Second Life, all they have to do is the following:

1. Deleat all calling cards and only keep the ones for those people whom you Do want to know where you are located.

2. Do the same for Friends list

3. Set your land to access by invitation only (A process where you add peoples names to a list).

If you want to run a shop section off your land to allow people only into your shop.

There is no need for further tools etc in Second Life on Privacy... They already exist.

Okay, so he said his piece. Those tools already exist for him. Now, let's stop yelling at each other, move on, and get the /right/ tools for *the rest of us*. ^_^

So far I have been 100% successful at avoiding troublemakers

This thread seems to contradict the above statement...

WE'RE TROUBLEMAKERS! WOOT!

Setting your land to private will keep them off. And it will cover intruders, uninvited guest.

Why should I have to shut down my land completely if all I want to do is stop teleporting?

Not talking about teleporting we are talking about keeping land private. Teleporting was last weeks major argument between us Hiro....

Then you only have to deleat 20% of them. And when people learn that to keep from being tracked all they have to do is deleat their friends card then things will be so much better.

I believe extra tools would be a burden to the Lindens who are working very hard at fixing the bugs that are in the system. New Toys are not the answer. We already have the tools to make our lives better.

So... if I follow your logic right.. Life is better without friends - well that explains your cheery disposition of late.

But I can follow your logic and raise you one besides - if you follow your own mode of thinking then the 'soilution' to fixing all your bugs and teleport problems is to simply 'deleat' Second Life from your hard drive!

Problem solved - shit they should hire me for live help, I'm freakin great!

You quickly forget, don't you?

This thread "The Tools for Privacy already exist" is a clear reaction to the thread:
"Privacy Controls: Now that P2P is in, its long overdue!"
/108/f9/77934/1.html

to which Flipper ends the post:

...
So what do y'all think? Isn't this long, long, long overdue, especially with P2P stalking now completely possible

P2P has been included in the discussion from the get-go.

What does P2P stand for exactly. I've been assuming Person to Person or Place to Place. But it could be Pasta to Prawns, P*ssy to P*nis, or Pinhead to Pittsburg. Anyone have the REAL answer. Feel free to reply with outrageous ones too.

Point To Point. (real answer)
