I've never heard of Hard Alley. I'm tempted to visit and see for myself what's so terrible about it.

I was very curious so I went and visited Hard Alley. Want to know what I think? It should be re-named Boring Alley.

All I saw was a bunch of people standing around doing nothing. If they were IMing the dirty stuff without taking advantage of the many sex balls they just aren't with the program.

Well, now you have ruined their fun, with the tourist buses and "I wandered around Hard Alley at night and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" and people taking pics, it just won't be the same. I hope you are all happy.

Thing about what the original poser said is.. why does anyone care what others do in the game it is ALL CONSENTUAL there is no way to force yourself on anyone else so if they like it let em go at it just don't go there. I find a lot of the things people like to do here rather disgusting but i'm not going to go tell them how they can enjoy their game. As long as they aren't shoving it in my face it's their buisness not mine.

AL narrow minded people (and they are in SL to of course!) get feeded by looking at things that the have decided are BAD.. and at once tell al its so bad bad bad.. and then start to try to get laws that forbid it at once.. ,.. its a kind of kinky thing they are doing... and love to do..

They cant stay home and knit.. the have this inner force that they must save us from what we love and dont need to get saved from. And they off course get aroused of doing it.. and.. ohh they..

Wow, that was my first ever attempt at sarcastic, over use of netspeak. I'm relatively happy with it. I went to Hard Ally once, started a scene, the guy was very good to be honest - then a griefer ruined it all. I can only comment on said place after far more extensive testing

Hard Alley/Gor/BDSM/....they are all fantasies on sl...they are consensual in sl, so both/all parties have agreed to do what they are doing.
If people don't like it, then don't go there...simple as that.

In all honesty whats up with the moral outrage against RP lately. Did a bunch of overly religious people come to SL or something or are people doing it sheerly out of spite to try and piss people off. There are numerous threads there have been in world protests and its rediculous even at its highest point. Im not morally superior but i do understand the concept of tolerance and know to learn about a culture before i actually judge it. I try not to judge people from different communities/cultures even if i find them disturbing sheerly because its intolerant and if i say something without knowing about the culture it really just proves my ignorance.

That being said I know people involved in all forms of RP in SL and have gotten to understand most of the cultures very well in fact helping out a few when the situation arises. The protest of the RP community as a whole as of late seems rather rampant and done in spite at least in my opinion. I find most people protesting it to know little to nothing about what they are actually protesting and I also find these people quite intolerant and even harassing in nature. Saying a group is bad from a few bad eggs is just absurd in any context. Its alot like racist stereotypes of certain groups. The subject matter has just been fuel in the past few weeks and its not going anywhere.

LL has told the protestors of RP time and tme again their standing on it and explained that the people are within their rights and yet it continues. I honestly wonder why people cant just try to get along with one another instead of bickering of issues that they arnt even forced to be a part of. And Vera thats exactly the point. The people that dont like it dont have to partake in it at all. They dont even have to partake in SL if they dont like the openness of it.

No No, it's the Goreans! Those poor people are being mentally abused; punished beyond any rational human's limits...choosing to do this even though their skin crawls while they force themselves to finish.

And that's just when they read the novels....

LOL I admit I've felt that way at times while reading the books!! Mostly during all the war parts Professor Lange may not be an overly poslished writer, but even the most harden critic will have to admire his attention to detail into just about every aspect of gorean life. Nevermind the occasional discrepency. He put a lot of thought into everything from flora and fauna to animals, ships and alliances to commerce.

I just went there. There's only guys standing around. I shouted "OKAY WHAT GUYS WANT TO BEND OVER?" and they ejected me. It didn't seem that scary. Or hard.
