Being denied access to the very game this person crashed will certainly teach the rapscallion a lesson!

And it will send a clear message to others! "If you try to crash Second Life you won't be allowed to play it for a few days! "

:D

I have a feeling this is temporary... I have it from a VERY high authority that legal action IS being taken against this person.

Funny thing is they are probably in game now with an alt.

And P2P will make it easier to get around. ;)

It better be. If this is all, this is extremely pathetic.

Every time one of these bullshit attacks happen, it costs me HOURS of time to recover, not to mention the business is costs me. I'm just one of many - it costs US a hell of a lot more time and effort than LL. It pisses me off when we seem to care more about the stability of their product than they do. I'm one of LL's biggest supporters, but am really peeved that they still haven't done anything even as these grid-wide attacks continue to grow more and more frequent.

I'm going to continue to be peeved until we hear something about them actually doing something to dissuade these useless pieces of flesh from wasting a lot of my - and other citizen's - time. Time that is now increasing valuable as P2P without privacy controls makes getting any meaningful work done nearly impossible.

Regards,

-Flip

I am surprised that you're surprised that this surprises anyone. I'm also surprised that you, of all people, would have something negative to add. :)

Im guessing LL didnt "GO OFF" on this individual with extreme bannishment until more of the legal action side of the house has moved forward. Its probably the best route legally and finanicially until its 'proven' and/or 'admitted to'.

Don't hold your breath. you won't hear anything about it unless it is rumor or unsubstantiated. And don't expect much more than this to happen, or much to come of it if they try.... you see, repeated attacks that have not resulted in prosecution give this jerk good probability of asserting they thought it was (if not acceptable) not actionable since so many people since the beginning have made attacks on the virtual world with no more reaction than suspension.

As for what you lost as a result, you may as well suck it up now... LL doesn't owe you squat for lost time or items and you agreed to it. Re-read your ToS and welcome to SL: The Game.

Negative? Oh yes, I forgot.... anything not 'Hippy-Groovy-Chill-Out-It's-All-Up-To-Karma-Man' is 'being negative'.

WhatEVER.

They have perma-banned past global attackers before, why not now? There has to be more to this.

I would hope this is the case.

Do they ever say, "permanent ban" on the police blotter? So we can watch the blotter and see if it ever says this?

I stand corrected. You were not being negative at all.

I wrongly assumed you were both insinuating naivete on the part of previous posters while also knocking LL's enforcement of the incident.

You were merely pointing out that given LL's previous foibles, we should not have expected any better in this incident.

Apologies. :)
