I'm polite most of the time with people in SL and RL. Getting instantly IM'd when you log in can be a little annoying but we've all done it lol. Of course I'm always polite towards the ladies,good manners can after all lead to good times

Yeah I've read profiles before where it almost is like your being insulted from the time you open it lol. The only disclaimer I put is if you IM me acting like a total jackass do not expect me to respond. It hasnt helped because the people that are total jackasses arent going to be stopped by a simple request

I can absolutely understand it.
The other day I was told that if I didn't want to receive spammy notecards I should put that in my profile. Like its an opt out or something. Its not like ANYONE wants junk mail - I've never in my entire longevity ever met someone that looked in his/her mailbox and said 'oh my look! I can get 10 bucks off a watersoftener and an electric ashtray wow - thats so usefull!' So why would anyone in their right mind think anyone would want unsolicited crap thrown up on their screen? I don't have an abusive profile - but most people that send unsolicited notecards get the message when I send them back 3 times. _____________________

When I joined SL 2005 in februari - and many many many months from that date - I mostly - to 98% - meet really wonderfull people al the time.. I got ansvers - I got help - - people used there time and helped.. and more.. And AL of them was completly NEW TO ME!
Today.. its not the same atmospehre - I cant point at any special cases (OK I can to a few - - but dont).. But the ”feeling” are not the same kind-hearted..... Why?.. /Tina - And yes Ingrids PreFabs are EXAKTly great! _____________________

Today.. its not the same atmospehre I haven't been here that long, but I must say that in all these months I have only found one person who was completely rude and out of place, and if anything the atmosphere around me has been increasingly improving. Of course, discount griefers from the equation. Those don't count. |

I have been griefed so many times it's ridiculous, so I just put up all the info up front in my profile for any would-be griefer to parse:
If you're considerate of other people, and won't be a pest, feel free to hang around... Do NOT annoy/bug/grief/irritate/pester me unless you want to be reported (which can lead to a warning, suspension, and/or banning from SL). Test weapons in combat sandboxes! That "about" field could be made bigger too (largest capacity yet 3rd smallest field--after the 254-character desires/skills fields which are, oddly, only a single line tall). LL needs a better GUI designer... Also, the problem is a lack of privacy in SL. Not being able to remain hidden/invisible is a BIG issue with harrassment. I'd be completely invisible in SL if I could--like I am in Active Worlds (which has MUCH better privacy options!). Until LL addresses the issue of privacy, people are only going to become more and more hostile and aggressive towards griefers et al--especially as SL grows in user count! _____________________
