Ok advocating, bitching, whatever.... I'm good with whatever you want to call it. I still think you should just go do what you need to do and if the market will bear the higher prices then you'll find out. From: Jillian Callahan Advocating? Is anyone out there advocating raising prices, or are you all who are taking about it, like me, bitching about the possibility of needing to? I don't want to raise prices to keep up with my costs. Who the hell would want that? I want a stable market where both sides kjnow what to expect. So I can set my prices where folks find 'em fair and work with my customer base that way. An advocate of higher prices is a nutter.

No, its in a thread that was created as a parody thread by someone who has already stated it was sarcasm and they aren't even a designer. That aside, since when do the actual words someone types get tossed out in favour of blind assumptions anyway? Nothing I said could even remotely be taken as complaining about markets...I didn't mention markets. Not amount of "context" can explain your assumptions addressed to me that had zero to do with what I actually typed. I choose this thread to post in because many of the people in this thread where doing exactly what I WAS complaining about...demonizing all designers and stereotyping every SL business as being some evil, greedy, money-hungry jerks. My point was to try to give some perspective to those massive generalizations and point out their hyposcrisy. Instead...I get more generalizations and assumptions that have nothing to do with my post. *sigh* This is why I don't bother posting on forums much...people don't actually hear what you are saying anyway. |
