I learn a lot from the forums.. and I'd be looking at other places to spend my time and money if I had to stop and ask LIVE HELP for every little thing. I am not going to start on the gonna-be-outdated knowledge base. Every one of those I have dealt with has always been out of date and I wind up having to email a simple question and then have to wait to see if anyone bothers to answer it. Besides, given LL's track record for updating, the knowledge base would be offline within a minute after the update and down for hours.... But, hey, why should they care? They won't have to listen to us complain. *sighs* I know it sounds whiney, I'm sorry, but this is how I feel about it. _____________________

Although, I would ask why anyone is suprised by the decision, given Linden Lab's long history of nerfing features and functionality before having anything suitable to replace them, and given their long history of entirely ignoring customer feedback even on the rare occasions that there is a large united voice expressing the same opinions. Actually, I think that in certain respects it could be a 'good thing' - that is to say that with all the negative comments people have about LL and SL going on 3rd party sites accessible to joe public rather than here on a closed members only forums, then people will learn that the 'magic of SL' that gets portrayed in the media through carefully orchestrated press releases is all so much bullshit, and stories will rapidly be replaced by more truthful pieces about what SL and LL really are like. As such, I would urge people to not let Torley and Robin gag you... if you have an opinion about SL or LL that you would like to share... share it loud, share it wide! Plaster it all over the web! Make sure you're heard! Sure, LL will probably still ignore you - that's a given. But at least the message will get out loud and clear that SL isn't all watermelons and Linden Dollars falling from the sky after all.  Maybe when it starts affecting their bottom line, maybe, just maybe, LL might sit up and take some notice of us after all. _____________________
