One of them is actually a freind of mine. He's male, too.

I don't actually disagree with this, which is why I have no more emotion toward this thread than mild amusement. Okay. I am a former virtual prostitute. I really don't feel like it says anything terribly important about me, so it's difficult to get that upset about it. To me, it's like, "Yes, and?"

But I did sort of take it as a given that "escort" and "prostitute," at least within the context of SL, were totally interchangeable. It's interesting to learn the history of the term "escort," but I do agree that it's naive to think SL escorts aren't prostitutes, yes.

Technically an escort is an expensive tease, and a prostitute is a cheap living blowup doll.

Back in school they were Prudes and sluts... and no matter if you gave them money your class ring or your letterman jacket and or married her... since the beginning of time no matter what... in one way or another you paid for it or were paid for it by accepting gifts.

Lets face it we are all in one way or another guilty of some form of prostitution, intended as such or in simple acceptance.

So if a lady wants to be blatent about how she is paid let her be at least she has a job and from what I hear... thats a difficult thing to find in SL...lol

Ok everyone lets get real here. We all know that an escort is a sugar-coated term that means prostitute. (And I know someone is going to try and say that they are not here and claim that I offended them and if I did, well I really dont care.) Basically I want to see how many people here actually agree with me and how many are in denial. (also this is something to do while the grid is down)

Oh and for the record, Dancers and strippers are two different things. Granted the basic difference is that Dancers dont take their clothes off and I know this because long ago I used to work as a dancer in SL and no one ever expected me to take my clothes off.

And?

repair = mend = fix

DR = MD = physician

housewife = homemaker

In SL..... Escort = prostitute

What's your point? Are you really bothered by the word usage or are you just hoping this seemingly innocent question will open a can of worms about the moralities of you can then jump into?

I've known several escorts - men and women who are witty, intelligent, charming, mannered, with decent wardrobes and decent-to-good looks.
