What a wonderful way to open a debate!

think the OP wasnt interested in debating - merely trolling.

Some of the follow up posters are debating, some are merely commenting. Others are trolling.

---------------------------------
I thought on something though,

I wonder if part of the reason that some people dislike Escorts and Prostitution in SL - is they see people making money doing something that they are no good at - such as cyber sex.

---------------------------------

As far as RL prostitution - its interesting to note that throughtout most of human history and in most urban places it was completely legal , or else totally ignored. Its only to placate those with a moral agenda that its cracked down on at all.

Of course by making it illegal and enforced they make things more dangerous for those on the fringes - thus ensuring exploitation of people, that otherwise might have not been.

Since prostitutes/escorts/call girls/tramps/doxies/whores/ladies of the evening - all fare better in places where it is legal and their safety is guarded by law same as everyone elses.

Next time make a more interesting thread when SL is down please... who gives a damn about the difference or non difference between an escort and a prostitute anyway. If the price is high enough i think most people would sell their bodies for money anyway lol.

Technically an escort is an expensive tease, and a prostitute is a cheap living blowup doll.

Back in school they were Prudes and sluts... and no matter if you gave them money your class ring or your letterman jacket and or married her... since the beginning of time no matter what... in one way or another you paid for it or were paid for it by accepting gifts.

Lets face it we are all in one way or another guilty of some form of prostitution, intended as such or in simple acceptance.

So if a lady wants to be blatent about how she is paid let her be at least she has a job and from what I hear... thats a difficult thing to find in SL...lol

I'd probably get in trouble with follow up examples so I'm just gonna say I agree lol

I've been told I'm pretty good. But I agree, that or they think SL should bend to their personal belief system.

Now I definitely agree here...while I'd be very upset if my husband searched one out, I'd have to say, if they'd just make it legal it would be safer for all those involved. I for sure think the rate of disease would go down significantly if everyone would get off the moral high horse and let them do what they are doing anyway and just "health inspect" it.

Know where prostitutes can charge the most?

Salt Lake City.

Why?

Because anything but missionary in the state can earn jail time.

They are selling SL sex for SL dollars.

They are prostitutes.

That doesnt occur in the dictionary. Cybersex is not real sex. Sex for me is two real people going at it. What goes on in SL is not sex.

But call it as you like... everyone needs a fantasy :P

I personally would not be surprised to see the folks who insist escort services are not prostitution houses, get busted at one eventually, either :P

Ok how is this spitting on them? Im just saying that prostitutes basically perform sexual acts for money, isnt that what escorts do?

Like your dancers/strippers argument...... not necessarily.

A dancer can strip - a stripper does dance.
An escort can have sex - a prostitute does.

Hey, I see selling virtual sex the same as selling real sex. Thats why I personally hate phone sex lines.

Even -if- I accepted your definition, they are still virtual prostitutes - and I'll keep calling them prostitutes.

Ok, here I go again.. sigh..

ok, it is quite rude to point at someone and hold them up for censure.. That is what I meant about spitting on them.

I apologize but I do feel it shows a lack of empathy for those around you.

The words whore and prostitute are ugly and words used in a deragatory way. To insist on calling someone in a community that you share a word that is commonly used in a deragtory way shows a lack of ettiquette as well as just a self absorbed way of going about things.

Regardless of what someone does behind closed doors it is neither your business nor mine. (within reason -.-)
And someone that works as an escort, prostitute or whatever is doing it behind closed doors, it is not something dirty or to be whispered about it just simply does not matter at all and ppl should find something better to discuss...

Alot of people misunderstand polygamy, in the mormon sense.

1 out of 10 men were picked and offered extra wives due to financial and emotional stability. They did not have to accept, and they often discussed it with their current wife.

The practice started when religious fanatics (other christians) would kill the men of a farm, and leave the women, because then a woman couldn't own land. The other sects members would then claim the unoccupied land.

The women weren't untouched, but I'll leave what happened to girls over 6 years old up to you to fill in.

This practiced killing was part of the reason for going west, and polygamy was to support and protect the women left homeless within the church.

At least, thats how it started. :P

Phone sex lines are only a problem for people who spend too much money on them :P I don't spend money on them, so I could care less about them. Doesn't affect me at all.

The men didn't have to accept or agree, but what about the women?

Also, coming from a family tree that was half mormon, I think the encouragement (doctrine) of having huge familes to "help spread the word" had something to do with the multiple wife thingy.
