My take: There is no RL physical contact whatsoever. So I cannot refer to SL prostitutes as prostitutes or even escorts. I can only go so far as to call them "virtual/cyber prostitutes" and "virtual/cyber escorts" (since they are not even physically near their customer). If they do not engage in av-sex then I won't call them cyber-prostitutes. I could call them prostitutes and escorts but only within the context of SL, that is, in-world reference.

Someof these guys are willing to pay good money, not to have sex on the phone, but to have a friend to talk to about anything. Some guys get an escort to have someone accompany them somewhere. Welcome to 10 years ago. Prostitution has evolved into escorts. You very rarely will see the street corner prostitute unless they are seriously spun out and looking for a drug fix. Escorts are now paid by the hour to have sex with you.

I happen to run one of these Escort Houses, Island, club what ever you choose to call it. First off I can't believe this thread even started! Who the heck cares! And most of the one's that hire them I'm sure are very aware what they are doing and know darn well what they are paying for. So at least the one's calling themself Escorts try to have a little class about it.. OMG I can't even beleive I post to this! Like who the hell cares?

I swear, some of you people need to read the dictionary. And Google is your friend! Just stick "escort" in the blank, I dare any of ya. Just. Do. It. Tell me what you get. After the first few hits, well, its mostly going to be "escort services" which are mainly fronts for RL prostitution. Duh. Welcome to the real world. What occurs in SL is not prostitution in the strictest sense of the term (there is no actual SEXUAL INTERCOURSE going on, I don't care how attached some of y'all are to your avatars, its not *real*, you haven't even got decent bits unless you buy them at a shop ), but it sure falls under the word "escort".
