you are missing a grand opera, and then speaking about how off key things are

there are many levels to some posts... the clues are there to guide you if you want to follow them, but if you want to skip over this particular threads nuances because you think this is your typical gorean/ageplay/furry rant, then you are missing out on some deep history

there is far more than a virtual rape allegation in this story, that is just sort of "icing on the cake" for this screenplay

It would be interesting to see how long that external forum survives though. Forums like that tend to fall into itself and disintegrate, often taking the users with them.

I think these people have been far too repressed on SL forums, and thus have to lash out like that there. Some of these posts are hilariously childish.

And some of these posts can be legally taken as threats. IMHO.

Oh I'm sure more than a few <ahem> special-interest <ahem> forums will be set up by law-enforcement agencies and run as honeypot traps. They can take whoever they want with them.

if someoneG wants to involve Law enforcement, they should know SC complies with law enforcement requests, as some of those threats are very serious and the fact that the transmissions cross state lines is certainly a federal matter

besides, if you haven't noticed, the established community (like more than 5 posts ever) is pretty much not giving them what they want... check the people who have been there awhile with the higher postcount, they think this person is a tool as well

Seeing his posts and I don't see how credible law enforcements cound be on that site. Look at the amount of childish garbage generated by him, including the topic at hand.

How are we to know that things would be handled unbiased? It's impossible with someone like that at the lead. I've seen forum admins like this "see l2blah forum", who take onto themselves to do whatever they like to the members, including threats to reveal RL info, IP info and so on.

Mulch, I was seriously considering that forum, but given the lack of leadership there, I don't know how well it would survive. Basically I need a long term forum, I'm not interested in Stratics and right now SLU is starting to look pretty good other then the fact not many people post there.

My own interests in that forum would be to lurk, cause I don't feel the place is unbiased enough to warrent posting.

#1 it is unbiased because it is not modded... anyone can say what they like there... and in the current case where law enforcement may indeed become involved for the threats of a random internet nutjob, if you break the RL law you will have to deal with that... since it is unmodded, an unbiased method of free speech applies

#2 there is an option to turn the IP of each poster on, it has not been done, but that feature is built into THIS VERY SOFTWARE. it takes 2 mins to get a new anonymous email account, you shouldnt be sharing personal RL info on the internet anyway... what exactly needs to be trusted (not that there are any violations of trust, but if this is indeed your issue, you must be very new to the interwebs)
