Inside Out Skins all the way baby!
They have some of the best male skins and clothing in game in my opinion.

I just found Charlotte Hausdorf (I think that's how you spell it) she has a freebie skin at NCI, so I went to her store.. she just started making skins.. and I like her Sweet Newbie skin.. very realistic without being TOO realistic.. no butt veins... and affordable.. oh well.. I liked them.. but I'm gonna check some of the stores on this list too... I've been needing a good skin..

I currently wear a skin by Launa Fauna (very cheap for the quality, L$300). I am very happy with it, but have been searching for a darker, African-American skin that works well with my shape (have tried dozens of demos and some are more successful than others, but none have given me the natural, dewey look that I am interested in)---but that is a separate problem. I would recommend reading some reviews of skins on sites like pixelpinup or Linden Lifestyles. You certainly can't learn about EVERY skin out there from these sites; but, like this forum, you can get an idea of places to check out.

From: Richie Waves I find photorealistic skins creepy.. the dead lifeless eyes just dont mix. I'm glad someone else feels this way, I've tried on a few, and I always feel like Buffalo Bill wearing his suit made of dead girls.

The best male skins I've seen in SL are "by Max". They look like, well... real men. Good lookin' men. Right now I'm in love with Gala skins, for women. Just beautiful. The right balance of realism and still looks right "in world". Pure photorealism just looks strange in SL, like a photograph pasted on your avatar.

I prefer Robin Sojourner's work. She does some awesome detail on the skin, in a lot of spots that most people miss. Makes for a realistic skin all around.

Some skins that haven't been mentioned: LUXE Skins by Lo Jacobs, and recently, she and Ginny from Dazzle had released a new line of skins, Crushed. I wear those second from Gala skins, they are both awesome. Also Helyanwe Vindaloo from Curious Kitties released some new detailed skins, I tried on the demos last night, and they are great for my shape, just wish they would go a tad bit more tan, but of course, for the kind of store it is...I probably wouldn't expect that anytime soon
