I have to say that it's kinda nice to see the RL faces behind the SL ones..... For me there are certain SL elements of my av that are way different than my RL ....height being one of them as I'm only a little titch in RL...lol But I change my SL appearance quite a bit, with different skins etc...the only real SL constant for me would be my shape that I made myself...

Its called MorphVOX

Downloaded it, tried it (it works like a charm) but won't use it. Guess why: As soon as I open my mouth people tell me "you don't need to use that cr*p DUDE" and laugh about me. If you are female like I am and you use a voice changer for privacy people think you are a man. It's so sad. I hope the announced nickvoice feature will make voicechangers more common.

Nickvoice would be a LOT of fun for RP, but anyway back to the topic:D

Usually I dress my av more like I dress in RL, but that "conservative" pic was the closest facial match I could find with the lighting :P

Too bad I shaved off the fighthawk when my favorite barber's shop burned

Here's another avatar I did for the 2007 MIT Media Conference. Again, I have recieved permission from the client to show this as an example of my artwork.

With this project I was asked to composite and age reverse a series of recent images (not shown here) to approximate the RL photo shown on the left within SL. The hair line was brought forward and the skin lines and complexion were heavily retouched and tanned within Photoshop.

On a side note, the people that posted images directly to LL's servers should either repost them to a third party site and link them here, or try reposting them to LL's servers. There were some really cool images that got lost to some sort of corruption, and it would be nice to see them again ;).

Wow, it's a crime that most of the attachments in this thread are corrupted. :(

Hi guys-
I went back and looked at my original post, and, sure enough, the pic was garbled. I've uploaded the original photo again, and I encourage others to do the same!
Cheers

That is so cool....people can *really* run around SL as their own younger selves!

I've been *trying* to make her look like me. So she's a bit younger version of me, with my younger, trimmer 20-something waist, and my larger, not so trim 30-something breasts! With better skin (I tried skins on that looked as pale as my RL skin, but it makes me look too ghoulish in SL), some makeup and lots of different hair! :D

I'm a neko (catboi), and worked very hard to make sure my SL avatar looked like me. In real life, I was created in a government genetics laboratory in the UK in 1988 as part of a secret military project, where I'm kept imprisoned and not allowed contact with normal humans, or with normal cats.

In second life, I can be free to play, own property and hang out with other nekos.
