YIn Puppeteer, uncheck the menu item "Fill Skipped Frames". The pulldown menu is reached by clicking the little triangle at the top right of the Puppeteer window

Nice! I didn't realize that was there, thanks for pointing it out.

Is the BVH exporter working correctly for use in SL in the latest version of Studio, v1.7.1.5?

I have gotten so used to using my own script I never checked. I will test it and report back, Darlisa.

Out of the box it does not. It appears that the movement for the hip and torso are not being correctly exported. I haven't got time at the moment to play much with the mapping to see if I can come up with one that works, though I strongly suspect it's possible.

To illustrate this, I captured two videos (sorry for the crappy quality) that show how the exported animation looks in Second Life.

They can be found at :
http://www.daikonforge.com/downloads/DazExport_BuiltIn.swf
and
http://www.daikonforge.com/downloads/DazExport_Plugin.swf

The difference is pretty obvious.

I placed a ZIP containing the figure, the .DAZ animation file, both .bvh files, the source for the plugin that I use, and whatever else might be necessary for you to test this issue in-house. This zip can be found at http://www.daikonforge.com/downloads/DazExportIssue.zip (for a limited time due to storage size limitations).

I hope that helps.

Daz Animation Tutorial
09-16-2007 12:03
Hey folks. For those of you just looking at this thread hoping that Daz is the solution to your animation problems, I have a beginner's tutorial.

http://secondlife.dolphpun.com/daz3d/

I would make that a link but BBCode is off on the forums. (which sucks)
