In reply to my own post, now I'm talking to myself, thats not a first, I know.
The red flash can be stopped by turning off the "property lines" option under view, and replicated by turning it back on. At least for me. |

I'm finding myself crashing when trying to do a movie to disk from within the firstlook viewer, which I was trying to do to demonstrate another bug. Anyone else experiencing this?
The issue I was trying to capture a movie for is the "Local lights flickering a lot" JIRA issue, I'll try again, but may have to use an external capture app: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3248 Appreciate it if anyone else with the same flickering issue can beat me to capturing a movie, I don't have a lot of time to do this lately! _____________________

I've also noticed that avatar animations skip frames when viewed from a distance (the framerate of the animation decreases). So, if someone has a fancy dance animation that looks great close-up, it turns into stop-action motion around 10-20m viewing distance. ![]() If you turn off Avatar Imposters, things should look normal again. With imposters turned on, the viewer will render an avie onto a low resolution 2D image every few frames and render that instead of the full 3D mesh. Also, if you look at the edges of avatar imposters, they'll be heavily pixelated. |

Looks like I no longer get the "Windlight sparkly, reflecting water" now. Great job, LL, it was the one thing that made the FPS loss in WL actually tolerable

ok i looked through and havn't found anyone with this issue. its hard to explain, but ill try. its like random points of textures are moving from there respective objects and to the "camera" and by that i mean to where the camera would be if i moved to 1st person. its very hard to explain what it looks like. its like a bunch of 2d triangles, goign from a bunch of objects. tot eh camera. If I'm understanding this correctly (and I may not be) ...do you mean like described here?: /111/a9/215994/1.html If so, the problem is not Windlight & the remedy is given on the same thread |

My first impression is that everything is overexposed!! Like a very bad photograph. My skin is almost white!
The shading difference between prims and skin is bigger than in the old viewer. My prim attachments don't blend very will with my skin anymore and look a lot "primmier" than before. It's like having pieces of rubber glued to your body. Nice water and all, but this looks like the end for furry avatars. |

Odd skybox errors, random hex-shaped black areas randomly appear when moving when in the linux client of 'Second Life 1.18.5 (74642) Nov 28 2007 16:51:36 (Second Life WindLight)'
http://www.moyloon.com/SL_skybox_error.png other then that little bug, it runs amazing, everything else i've seen before acts as normal.. |

After changing settings and then logging off the whole screen turns yellow, if I wait for 10 seconds i can see my desktop again.
This is only happening with the new WL viewer, never did this with the old viewer. HP Pavilion dv6238ea Notebook PC | Ubuntu 7.10 2 Gb RAM | 120Gb HD | Nvidia Go 7400 256MB | Intel® Core™ Duo CPU T2250 @ 1.73GHz |

Yep, not only avatars, but also too much contrast on textures. The difference between sun-lit and non-sun-lit objects/textures is far too big. The picture lacks dynamic range and is overexposed all over. It looks like a photograph taken with a very cheap digital camera. To be honest, I was completely disappointed about windlight. Yesterday I went to the meeting with Torley and he said all those issues will be addressed. It's not even alpha, so I heard, but it looks extremely promising. |

Highly annoying, and my main bug. |

argh, am ithe only one who'se getting what appears to be a memory leak in object-object occlusion? with it turned on, my memory footprint slowly raises until filling up my ram and crashing after about 20 minutes. soon as i disable it in debug, the growth stops, then comes back then re-enabled. this has happened in the latest two versions of windlight. i've had to leave occlusion disabled ever since just so i can stay logged in v.v

If you try...
http://jira.secondlife.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&&type=1&type=4&query=windlight&summary=true&description=true&status=1&status=3&status=4 You should get the current list of open WindLight issues. 131 at the moment. If you can be bothered to find the ones that concern you, please vote and comment on the JIRA. |
