I am very frightened by this story so far.

Only "so far"?? Brenda Brenda Brenda - think woman - think of where this can lead. And 10 kids? Twins? We're gonna need social services soon.

We all want this woman out of his life. They broke it off but I know William is going to go back to her because he had grown so used to the idea of marriage and kids in SL, and this woman is just playing him so bad and wants to keep him away from his friends.

Dax

OMG this story is soooo good, I wanna meet William and have 10 babies with him!!!

For some women, I think that's exactly how they see it........RL I mean.

And I thought I was being harsh LOL

But, really are peoples RL's so sad and are they so lonely that they resort to virtual relationships that lead to heartbreak? There surely has to be something lacking in RL, why else would anyone take a virtual being so seriously??

Hmmm last I thought, these were real beings behind the keyboards.

Are they really all NPCs or bots??? Why didn't anyone tell me??? I've been cybering with a bot??? OMG! :O

But seriously, you assume that RL has to be sad or one has to be lonely to enjoy a relationship that takes place in a virtual world. Believe me, that is far from the truth in many instances. And it's too bad that you can't understand the richness involved. Because it really can be rewarding. On it's own, not "in comparison" with anything else.

My rl is pretty sad but I am probably the exception and I am definitely not interested in it here it can be hard enough just dealing with emotional stuff around just being friends.
I don't think a SL love affair is going to fix what is missing, nor am I interested in that type
of drama nor relationship here and it isn't that I haven't, I have and I don't
want to go there again.
Saying all that a while back ago I saw this news show that was talking about how
large percentage of Human beings have become more and more isolated, more dependent on the internet for friendships and romance.
If that isn't your reality, lucky you, feel free to gloat but I know personally in my situation it has to do with many personal factors, health, circumstances that my real life world has
become more isolated and more disconnected with other Human beings and
Second Life is probably one of my few places when I choose to connect that I do.
When it comes down to it there just not places for me to connect with others like
myself or that I would want as friends or more that I can afford to go to without some type of problems.
Good thing about connecting with others here, when I am tired of it I can
log out or teleport home.
In real life when I am tired of interacting with some one face to face, or on
the phone it is much harder to log out or teleport home.

The OP’s story reminds me about RL. In RL, I often see very nice men with what could be compared to harpies. (http://www.occultopedia.com/h/harpy.htm)

I often think about this, and frankly, if the man is so weak and soft that he let nasty, dramaseeking sluts take advantage of him… well then there’s hard to help him unless he has enough spine to stand up for himself and quit.

It is like this with women too. I can see really sweet nice women with nasty, brutal, careless men who ignore them and just demand more, giving just irony and sarcastic remarks in return. There’s no higher justice in SL or RL, or else the Harpy would end up with StupidMacho.

That said, I would advice this man to pack down the crib and nursery. Rent out the land to somebody else. Find something that interests him in SL. Build, landscape, or photography. Or just set up a bachelor skybox and party. What ever he can do except looking for a woman who want marriage and kids.

Meet one who never wanted SL marriage and kids, but like your friend so much that she changes her mind. (I know – I’m too romantic!)

Yep FD, that’s why I never engage myself too deep in rescuing the “poor nice” ones.

Speaking from a younger generational P.O.V. than maybe some here (although I feel old when I see some 20 year old ditzing around) I think men are really in need of a good shake-up. Especially the early 20s bracket. They seem to lack so much elan and style and are such boors. Snuffing around and really can't hold a conversation. Older men - much older, really - have more to offer. In SL it's the same thing. The older male who is educated and culturally "with it" is sexier and generous in spirit.

My gran had good advice "never marry a man you feel sorry for" and my mum always says "Don't let a man interfere with your education and career, don't get pregnant, don't share a bank account and, if you can avoid it, don't get married at all." Works like a charm:)

And this to FD Spark; I don't know you but you sound incredibly sensitive. I am just recovering from a serious event in my own health so I know how isolating it can be even when you have friends to support you. Don't get down babe, listen to some rich and ripe music, read a fantastic poem, take teh time to enjoy a sun-dried black mission fig with the natural sugar coating its skin, look at sunlight on the water, speak to us here in the forum and sl. I'm a bit annoying but some of us can make you laugh, I'm sure.

Honey, you realize that growing up I used to hear "You'uns git! Yer trackin' mud all over the floor I done warshed! So git afore I strip y'all down and take the hose to ya!" -- almost every day in the summer.

I was a teenager before I realized detergent was the proper name for "warshin' powders".

"Y'all" is being tame ;)

Besides, I couldn't say all y'all. I was only talking to the OP and her friend. :D

And you warshed the car on Saurdy cuz we didn't know Saturday had a t and 2 a's in it?
