*blinks* When I first read the title, I thought someone was looking for their father and husband. The implications of which boggled the mind.

*chortles* Come to find out, it's a personal ad for a guy but by his personal matchmaker? I'm glad to see the tradition of friend match making aren't completely dead! :p Not to mention.. not as mentally disturbing....

It could be worse. His friends could be coming in and defending him for naming himself after an erection........

/me thinks he had better move on now so . . .

/me would be interested to see what HIS friends would post if they wrote a lonely hearts ad for him.

Pep (And what those who weren't his friends would write also . . .)

Hey! No sneakin' round, I didn't look at this thread all day because of the drama factor... well, that and the part about not reading any further unless

Kitten one: You're sneaking around and not real woman I am cutting off your head.
Kitten two: But, but, but I thought it was "My world, My Imagination" not
Facebook.

I am constantly amazed that people get married and even more ridiculous, have cartoon kids.....I just dont get it. How can it get that serious without the intent to meet in RL.

Let it be a lesson to your friend and hopefully he will learn from it. Find a nice RL girl not something that was nevr real to begin with.

Sorry your friend got hurt.

And I thought I was being harsh LOL

But, really are peoples RL's so sad and are they so lonely that they resort to virtual relationships that lead to heartbreak? There surely has to be something lacking in RL, why else would anyone take a virtual being so seriously??

You asked this before in another thread. And really your's and Alicia's attitudes toward this subject are the sad ones around here.

I asked about Cartoon sex in another thread, something else that eludes me

My attitude is not sad, I have a wonderful RL fulfilling relationship, that's hardly sad.

No it's not. But making fun of those not as fortunate is.

My questions are genuine, I really can’t understand it. There are other people in this thread who have clearly ridiculed.

Bella 'cartoon sex' as ou put it is not about the pixels onteh sceen, or at least not for me. In fact dont think we have a single set of pose balls in our house above a PG rating. Connectiong to another human being on the most intimate of levels, the mind is simply waht it is about. Being able to express anything and everything I want without fear. For manyt he chance to play out thing theywould not feel comfortable to do in RL.

The mind is a much more sensual and sexual organ than those between your thighs.

As for the getting married thing. Well when i met my partner I had no intention of a relationship in SL. We were friends of several months before anything happened. The fact is we just clicked. We connect on every level. We can sit for several hours a day EVERY day and chat. The silences never feel uncomfortable and the siimple things make me smile.

Is having a relatinship with someone on the otherside of the world over the inernet ideal? Hell no! We want to meet n RL, but right now that is not able to happen. We both have RL's which prevent us from being able to meet until next year.

So we spend as much time together when we can and how we can. Marriage for us was simplyabout being ievn the chance to express what is in our heart, minds nd souls. That we both know we do want to spend the rest of our lives together. That we will happily wait for our RL's to organise themselves before that happens and that we will be there for each other throguh everything.

We have been together almost a year now. During that time I came out to friends and familyin RL, I have had problems with money, I ahve had problems with uni. She hhas been through to hurricanes and a heap of work stuff.

We cannot touch, and that hurts. But how can you see what i have described as anythign but real?

Well Eclectic I truly hope you get to meet in RL. I do understand the communication that we find with people all over the world and the internet is a wonderful tool for that forum.

As I have said before, I met my RL partner on a dating site here in New Zealand and we have been together for a year and half now. So to a degree I get it, I get it when there is the prospect or the intention of meeting in RL, that makes sense to me. And I know people meet in SL and get together in RL and I think that’s great.

Again, I really hope it works out for you and I can imagine it must be frustrating for you not being able to touch.

Do you talk on the phone?

lol cartoon sex...

leads to having to get a cartoon job, to pay for a cartoon house with a cartoon picket fence, while supporting a cartoon kid who's really 40 in rl, while paying those cartoon bills...
hehe sounds like the premise for comedy central series :P

Only if you don't take proper cartoon precautions.

I think that even if we had no intention of meeting in RL the connection would be the same. I can understand the relationships people have with others in here even if they never intend to meet in RL. As long as people are honest about who they are and open to it then I think that the connections that can be made through this medium can be truely wonderful.

The plan is to meet next year, likely after i fnish my degree. We have every intention of meeting and have been pplanning towards that end.

We have each others phone numbers but tend not to ue them becuase of the cost. Calling the US from Australia isnt exactly cheap. Instead we use voice via MSN every night when we are online together :) works well for us
