Any ideas on how to get a neighbor to move?

This is true, Raymond, but would be a shame. If you look around Jessy's place, most of the rest of this area is really nice. If everybody just packed up every time a nasty piece of junk popped up, then the trashy people would win.

Jessy, I'm not sure where you've been, when you say "over the course of the weekend." That Medieval Borg cube has been there for at least a month or two. I had almost forgotten about it since I blocked it out so long ago.

Actually Avion, only the middle portion was there as of saturday morning. Over the last 3 days, she bought and expanded. Which is why Im now surrounded.

Thanks.. everyone...

I'll look into those screens. I'm obviously not happy about eating up my own prims to cover that nasty looking sky build. But the other scenarios people have givin me either subject myself to ARing for griefing, or losing money selling my land. My land isnt residential, i dont live there, just sell there. And Ive only owned it about 2 months I believe. And no... her and her ugly arsed build was not there when I purchased my land. So I'd lose money in this buyers market selling. Then theres the issue of what? Where would my business go while Im waiting for one parcel to sell and to buy another? So screwed... so screwed.. so screwed... I'll just suffer the prim loss, move all my builds in closer to eachother and erect massive arsed mountain screens. Considering my plot is 8100 meters... and Ill be covering 3 sides with screens... eesh... Ahh.. I know. Now Im just complaining. Sorry about that. And thanks for all your answers :)

Real shame too, because other than that, all my neighbors have beautiful properties

Isn't that the thing that blew up the White House in "Independence Day"?

A new renter on my sim border put up a hot pink club this morning. One very cordial and civil IM later, he changed it to a much more palatible dark purple. Sometimes you get lucky with your requests.

You wouldnt happen to have 8100 m2 of commercial land for rent do ya? :)

No, my sim is residential. But Darien Caldwell most likely does. Check with her or Sarah Nerd. Worst case you could put your build in the sky above my land until you find a new home for your store. But I just posted to SC that there is no reason for you to move until you find a new store location. Customers dont care about the surrounding plots if your store is designed to keep their focus on your products. Hugs, Ray

Wow if she really is surrounding you, that gives you more power. If you wanted to, you could fight ugliness with ugliness and set your land for sale really high. Doubt you will do that because you seem like a person incapable of doing anything ugly...

Not a chance. As much as I hate the sight of her build hanging inches from my land, if there were windows, I wouldnt even erect the screens. No clue why.

However, I hate being pushed... so no, I won't be putting a massive sticker price on my land. If it starts bugging me too much, I'll go find a new space for myself, I'll take the loss, price it lower and lower and watch the bots fly in, then run back to my new space and buy that :) (As you can see, I wouldnt dream of jumping tier and paying L anymore than necessary)

I would urge you to ban her and any members of the group (if the land is set to group) from your land. It helped get one of my neighbors to fix their build. They had a large castle but the outside was red with bloody pictures on it. Now at least it is stone. The owner wouldn't be an Italian vampire would she?

Hey now, let's not forget that my business is there, too. I have 12,000 prims, so I can push the mountains as high as necessary, but I prefer not to.

I've found that asking nicely and being polite usually gets you a positive result or gets you nothing, as you found out with your purple club neighbor, Raymond. Fighting something like this just gets you into a worse situation if it escalates. And what good is it going to do to fight this thing with ugliness? Ugly is obviously not a problem for this person.

Jessy,

I don't typically rent bare land, but I've been waiting to develop the "Masocado" Sim, about 2 or 3 Sims north of you. I think I have 24,000 sq m. It's very pretty, and fairly "protected" in the sense of having all good neighbors at present. There's a strip of beach along an inlet that would be great for your houses. Maybe in world this evening we could look at it. I'd be happy to revise my business plan to help out a neighbor.

Jessy, the obvious buyer for your land is your enemy. If you decide to move, why not make her pay your costs, eh? It may be a buyer's market for land, but that doesn't apply if there's a particular buyer who REALLY wants a particular parcel. And you're right in the middle of her build...a position of strength, what?

The answer is: you don't. The best you can do is pick your neighbors in the first place, by getting together with some friends and buying up a sim.

I just wanted to revive this thread to report that this horrible garbage dump is now for sale. As some predicted, junk like this doesn't usually last for long. It is a shame that we had to lose JessyAnne from the nieghborhood in the process, though.

Her area and all the plots around it are for sale. Unfortunately, this thing turned that whole sim and much of the land around it equally bad, since only the dregs of SL wanted to buy any land around it. She is asking a pretty outrageous price for it (around $1400 US if I remember correctly). This wouldn't be a bad price for nearly a whole sim normally. The beautiful irony is that she so ruined all the land in this area, she devalued her own return!

I've never had to look at the thing thanks to Dolly Heart's mountains, but being the nosy busy-body neighbor that I am, I keep tabs on it!

Come look and have a laugh, Jessy.

Put out a bunch of heavily animated camping chairs.

Put a big sign up in the air advertising great payouts.

Set your land for slightly higher than average price.

IM your neighbor and let them know they've won, all
you want is enough to buy a decent parcel of the same
size some where else.

It's pretty much true that most of the garishly done big clubs die within a month or two of creation. There are a lot of much better done, themed clubs that blend in with their surroundings or are on private islands (and still in better state) than this. Just gotta wait 'em out.

Wait - you have a plot completely surrounded by an adult-themed area, and no one suggested the obvious way to get them to move?

Why hasn't anyone recommended ARing the offender? This is something I would consider a nuisance. In this cases, the Lindens will remove the offending mega prims. She may later replace them with regular prims, but it will cost her dearly to replace those super mega prims.

It would Most Likely be because the BD/SM shop Owner hasn't said or done anything That is an AR Offence under either TOS or Community Standards. mega prims are NOT Illegal except where their presence is causing Sim Crashes and server performance issues That does not seem to be the Case here.

No one is going to give her a ticket for Disturbing the Ambiance.

I agree with a previous poster who will urge her owner not to Shop there. Once i become aware of the shops name, and location, I and my Girls will not go there Either. There are many more reputable Dealers of D/s merchandise who can Fill our needs. We won't Support people with no Courtesy, or Honor.

Angel.

Buy yourself some nukes, a good flame thrower and bomb the bast****

:D

Just joking...

seriously put a good price tag on your land and sell up . I suspect (from past experience of my own) that your neighbour is trying to force you out. You may as well capitlize on it.
Complaining to Lindens will do no good an army of us were complaining about the lunatic in my first region who tried all forms of intimidation to achieve the same thing. He owns most of that region now.

Yeah, so he's a lunatic who is crazy like a fox. He has the sim! That is the depressing thing about selling out. It feeds the evil...And you never know when it will come back to haunt you with some other "lunatic."

Agreed but what else do you do when you have a nutter plaguing you and no one does anything about it no matter how often he's reported for abuse and regardless of how many report him ???
