[UPDATE] San Francisco Power Outages and Stipend Payment Delays
Tuesday, July 24th, 2007 at 2:37 PM PDT by: frontierlinden
This afternoon power outages in San Francisco have been affecting our offices and local co-location facilities causing widespread grid issues. Residents may be unable to login and experience other in-world issues. Our Support Portal and billing phone lines may also be down during this time.

We are also aware of delays in payments of group dividends and weekly stipends. While we believe most payments should be completed by this point, further research into the state of stipends and dividends has been delayed by the power outages.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!

[UPDATE 3:10pm PST] While our Ops team works to return the Grid to health, we have disabled some features on the Second Life website. Please check back here for the latest updates as they become available.

[UPDATE 3:48pm PST] Logins have been disabled temporarily as we continue to work on the Grid.

[UPDATE 4:27pm PST] Residents who are still logged in are advised to avoid making transactions of any sort for the time being.

I have been in for about an hour, but my alt (also premium) cannot login. Of course when LL says don't do any transactions, that to me means 'do not mess with your inventory', so there is not much to do!

Yeah chatting is about all there is to do for now, must admit i tried buying something for L$1 just out of curiosity, strangely enough it vanished

It's ok I have it all under control....ok I dont, but this is funny anyway.

Dont worry if you cant get in SL, those of us who are here you cant do anything anyway but stand in one place. TP's are borked as well as just about everything else. Just received a grid-wide message about the power outtage, and apparently log ins are locked as of now.

Yah, I went to check the BETA download and now the snapshot is July 17!!! I can do beta now!

Wah, I get a message "Login Failed. Unable to complete transform: 'fetch fresh inventory.' Please contact Support at ..."

Somehow I have a sneaky suspicion I'm not going to get much sympathy for my beta issues, out of support today.

Well, for those of us locked out of the main grid and the beta, here's an interesting distraction I ran across while googling "Dan Linden" (my kids were raised on the mantra, "Go Ask Google." I google everything.)

shows the power was restored by 4pm and it is now past 5:30pm and SL is still down. Would be nice if there was an update to the blog.
