my major complaint is it is very hard on the eyes. If I spend over 5 mins reading it the text blurs for me and I have to shut it down..... maybe this is planned

What strikes me is that it's hard to even find, I have to look up an email that I keep the url in to get to it. How about make it http://answers.secondlife.com ? as least the person looking for an answer would be able to find it. And from what I see on the site, it's a bunch of experts asking and answering their own questions.

And from what I see on the site, it's a bunch of experts asking and answering their own questions. Mentors were ASKED to fill it with questions. _____________________

I like *the idea*, really.
Mentors are answering the same and the same questions over and over. A searchable, persistant FAQ system is needed for SL so you can point a newbie straight there. If those incentives/points have some real value, that would be awesome as well. I don't like the idea of spending my SL time working on some website for free. However there are problems. Those posts don't seem to go through some QA process. Spelling and grammar are an embarassment to the SL community (at least in the German section, that is what I checked first). The page looks like it's part of the official website while it is really user generated content. That should be made more obvious. Or hire official answers mentors or whatever (like the moles) to work on that page. No avatar pics and profiles? At least let us link our answers presence to our in-world personae. I also like the general appearance of the pages, yeah I do. _____________________

Spelling and grammar in the English sections are atrocious too, MonaLisa.

A rather rubbish and poorly implemented way of getting residents to do their jobs for them.
I really wish they'd just keep the forums. |

Given this alternative, I'm going to stop asking for the forum software to be upgraded.
This makes "downgrading" from XP to Vista look like an actual "upgrade". ![]() _____________________

The formatting leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't work right on my home or work PCs, both using IE, and really seems to hit the CPU pretty hard.
I also notice that NK is commenting in the adult blog discussion and find that I sorely miss the Ignore feature that these forums have. _____________________

Well, to an extent this is true, however SL changes constantly so what's a good answer on Tuesday may be wrong on Sunday. Sometimes the changes are by design, sometimes it's bugs, sometimes it's a temporary thing - but documenting something in flux is a losing battle, which is why Resident Answers works. _____________________

So do you lose points if your answer is no longer correct? ![]() _____________________

By "working", I take it one would mean that it showed the multiple choice selector one time, then not at all, assuming you vote, if you don't vote, you should see the vote control every time.
I'm not tracking the vote total with precision but it seems like it was at 25 yesterday morning, which iis what it shows this morning as well. Note that the poll has been open since April 12, I think it was, and has only 25 responses. This poll has a good bit more. _____________________

There's some poll discussion here: https://blogs.secondlife.com/thread/1345?start=15&tstart=0 and I think we largely agreed that it's totally f'd up and no-one knows why.

Sigh, attempting to foil the link posted just above yields the
"** Connection Interrupted The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." error here. Links to the blog pages quite often don't work. The poll doesn't work. The results of the poll don't even display correctly consistently, sometimes only the results for the first two choices display. This grossly dysfunctional Jive system that LL doesn't seem to recognize is defective is the foundation of their new user help system and will be the replacement for this vBulletin forum. This is not encouraging. _____________________
