I'm not able to see how to vote in the poll in the Second Life Answers that asks "What is your first impression of the Second Life Answers area?"
The question is "What is your first impression of the Second Life Answers area?"
The options given there are
I like it alot
I like it somewhat
I don't like it
Note that "alot" being spelled wrong is an error in the poll text, not my error.

So far it's another redundant and largely unintuitive "help" feature, much like the Knowledge Base, the old online Help, and the wildly unorganized SL wiki.

I looked at it, but found it unintuitive. I did not feel like I had any questions to ask, not did I really have any good answers -- the only questions I could find *to* answer were all long since covered. So, I'm sorry to say, it was all a bit "meh" to me. :-/

The poll is at https://blogs.secondlife.com/poll.jspa?poll=1004#cf . Using a different computer I was able to at least see the vote selector, so now maybe I can add my "I don't like it". The results of the SLA poll (no, not Symbionese Liberation Army, the SL Answer) will be skewed by the absence of those who find the blogs undesirable owing to the problems described in http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-982 , "Problems for blogs.secondlife.com", which includes whatever causes the ""Connection Interrupted The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."

I don't really like the format much, but I do like the fact that it's more focused on it's intended task.

By this point I'd have hoped to say "I like it somewhat," but I don't. Maybe I don't understand how to use it. I'd expected that if I had a question, I'd first search, and if no appealing matches were found then I'd ask the question. When I try to search, though, I don't get all the hits I should from existing questions and answers, and instead a lot of noise from all the blog posts. Maybe I'm just missing where to search the Answers section only. Without decent search, I'm pretty unclear what it's actually doing, then, besides awarding points that we can trade for chewing gum and cigarettes. Or something. (Of this genre, a model worth considering is http://stackoverflow.com/.)

I'd gotten used to using two computers, but I had decided to switch to two monitors on one computer awhile back, and forgot about that, so when I said I saw the vote selectors on a second computer, I should have said a second browser on the same computer. I saw the vote selector in the Flock browser, but was unable to see it on Firefox, and I can now report the vote selector fails to appear in Internet Explorer. (using accounts that haven't voted)
In addition to the vote selector's intermittent appearance, the display of the voting results is also screwy. Sometimes all three choices are shown in the results, other times only the first two choices appear.
LL might be basing decisions on the future of the sl website based on the useless results produced by this defective polling system, so for those who care, you could add a comment in the comment section, plus file a jira issue on the defective poll or vote for it after one gets created.

I'm getting "screwy" results also. I see "Open ended" but can't see HOW to vote. There are no options.

I got points when I wrote about Sneetches. A thing cannot be bad if there are Sneetch points.

From: Kornscope Komachi I'm getting "screwy" results also. I see "Open ended" but can't see HOW to vote. There are no options. Precisely. It's broken, grossly, blatantly broken. If you have other browsers available, you could try them and see if any others give a different result. You are using Linux, right? There should be a multiple choice selection control below the part that shows the results and above the comments, I think it was. The entire control is missing when it's gone wrong. Shambolic, Linden Lab's response to the jira about "network link interrupted" (last time I checked) is that they can't reproduce it, which from a practical point of view means "we aren't going to do anything about it, and oh by the way, have you been taking your meds lately?". I've gotten that message consistently since the new blog system came into use. Not every time I try to access a blog page, but very frequently, enough to make using the affected parts of the secondlife.com site not worth the trouble.

I've just tried with IE (spit), and lo, it works. So that's voice used to "discuss" matters when a lot of people don't use voice, and an apparent forum replacement that only wants to work with IE when a lot of people use Firefox. Excellent. At least now I can cast my vote, having seen how cruddy it is.

My first impression.....kind of the same as I have with the wiki pages and knowledge base....it's as if there's a secret plot to hire over educated out of work engineers to design these pages.......making them way way way over complicated and not very well defined. I recall years ago a project at the company I used to work for.......when they decided it was time to update their web site and make it more user-friendly......well lemme tell ya.......by the time the programmers and higher-ups got thru with it it was a flippen nightmare to navigate! And I worked in Customer Service...... can't tell you how many times i found myself APOLOGIZING to our members for the new upgrades on the web site.......not to mention the time wasted helping people use it......when I should have been focused on other things. Way to GO Geniuses!!! LOL this is much the same

Who designs anything around Internet Explorer these days? It's a virus magnet and a resource hog. Who is making these decisions???

I took a look at the German section as well. The spelling and grammar is appalling throughout so many posts there, and of course there is no one to do any corrections. The pages look like an "official" FAQ part of the SL web site though (not like some forum), and that makes it look really bad. I wonder what the "educators" think about SL when they see that?! That is worse than any shocking adult content...

My first impression was that I liked it somewhat. But now I've gone through multiple firefox crashes when replying to comments (the edit box seems to crash the browser while it configures itself) and the fact that I can't vote on polls is starting to piss me off. I do like this page a lot: https://blogs.secondlife.com/main-threads.jspa It's very convenient to be able to watch blog comments and answers comments in the same place and will be even better if they move the forums there. I haven't tried searching but I think this will be an effective way for people to ask questions and quickly get fairly authoritative answers. Better than the forums for sure, which has rapidly devolved into a bunch of fun chit chat rather than actual problem solving. I like the idea of competing to give the best answer. I guess a lot of people are saying the opposite but whatever, just my opinion. I hope they link blog points to some sort of in world benefit because I'll be deploying my army of bots to ask and answer dozens of fake questions per day! If they fix the bugs it will be good, somewhat. They probably won't though so that sours things for me.

I think it blows. Residents do not even have the ability to upload their avatars. Can not fill out a proper profile in there. The Polls don't work or they closed them before they got too much negative feed back. We can not have our identities in there.
I would say 80 to 90% of internet users are used to using forums like v-buliten and phpbb.
They can not deliver a decent user experience by creating mass confusion with that blog system. If they think new residents are lost. wait till this goes fully live and they take these forums down ..
I see sluniverse forums popularity growing in the near future

Crashwise, it's crashed me like it's crashed Elanthius, only worse... it's crashed the computer, requiring a taskmanager restart.
