Even with the sub-sub-sub folders that I have, I still have many hundreds in a couple of them.
:o

Before I started separating the clothing items out to higher more strict organisation, my Last Call folder had hundreds of outfits in it.

Clothes all go on the floor and I just select whatever looks cleanest or least wrinkled.

Clothing main folder:

Lingerie sub folder:
Tops
Bottoms
Hosiery
Sets

Outfits sub folder:*I don't use the Make Outfit feature
Costumes
Pants outfits
Dresses * Been meaning to break this down further, but haven't done so

Tops sub folder:
Tanks and Tees
Dress Shirts
Casual Shirts
Sweaters

Outerwear sub folder
Filed as named

Bottoms sub folder:
Jeans
Dress Pants
Shorts and Casual Pants
Skirts

Shoes sub folder:
Casuals
Boots
Sandals
Heels and Pumps

It's still generalized for the most part, it all could be categorized further, but I really don't have the patience to do so, so it works as it is.

I also have a shopping bag folder where I keep things I buy but haven't opened yet

Here is a shot of my Clothes folder.
There are some sub folders but this is the main bit here. All the things shown not in one of the categories are waiting to be sorted, I'm not sure what do with yet like the scarf Claire sent everyone or that I have not really had a chance to try on yet to see if I want to keep.

grrr ... the photo is not showing up.
ok ... fixed now :)
3rd time's a charm

The top folder in the pic is "@Sex Kinks" and under Clothing, the first sub-folder is #Ds gear ....

Is there something I should know, Dear?

FYI, you can simplify your whole inventory by just putting them all under a folder called, "Troll."

From: Pserendipity Daniels
Inspired by the attention to detail and commitment to finding the right outfit for each and every occasion shown by the girlies in this thread I have decided to establish similarly themed folders for my clothing as follows:

Outfits For
- Wasting my time dancing to slow songs and listening to stories of drama
- Hanging around pick-up joints avoiding escorts and gold-diggers
- Impressing at (nearly naked) body fascist beach barbeques
- Looking inconspicuous at trivia contests
- Appearing more aged than I am at "Older Men Rock" get togethers
- Looking smart when meeting prospective in-laws
- Disreputably leaning on the bar with a hangover
- Lounging around the Cartel Hangout annoying people who have muted me
- Playing golf (to wear when I am late for a date I don't really want)
- Making n00b men envious
- Pretending to be a submissive and pissing off dommes who expect me to obey
- Attending bad taste parties (Air hostess uniform)

Pep (That just about covers everything I think, but please feel free to offer further suggestions)

I actually have a folder called "Troll". Well, Sonia does. For a Dungeons and Dragons event.

This is for all who have massive bloated inventories - mostly full of clothing. How do you organize your folders? How do you find things quickly?

Are you happy with the way you do it?

Mine is a mess. Well, it's structured, but when I'm looking for some sort of look or inspiration, it's hopeless. I have things in my inventory I've never worn (beyond trying on as soon as bought). I'm looking for suggestions.
organise? Hm, I have main folders for among other things
-default appearance
-sets/full outfits
-tops
-bottoms
-footwear
-accessories
-crap I might need one day

...subdivided into different folders by designer and or style. There is no such thing as finding things quickly. Not really pleased with my "system" but the thought of reorganising makes me wanna cry blood.

Is it weird that my Clothing > Outfits > Costumes folder has the most subcategories?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Mine is all folders and subfolders.

Body - One subfolder for my main Avi with her shape, skins and eyes in, then others for extra shapes, skins, eyes, lashes, nails etc
Clothing and hair - the stores I bought them from.
Shoes - what type...Boots, Pumps, Sandals etc.
Misc items - what it is...ie...Furniture (and then further subfoldered into what type...beds, couches etc), Animals, Weird stuff etc.
Tatts - Which body part they go on (back, tummy etc)
Jewellry - What type (earrings, necklaces, rings etc)
Modelling stuff - For pic taking. Subfoldered into props, lights, sets etc
Poseballs - Sex, Couples, Standing, Sitting, Dancing etc

Even my opened but not looked at stuff has a folder "To Check Out" with subfolders for clothes, poses, hair, misc etc.

I'm a Virgo =)

You forgot one
- For falling asleep when with a beautiful woman
I have a folder called "Birthday Suit" but it has nothing in it.

Pep (Actually I have renamed my "male" folder "troll" at Love's suggestion; I have also renamed the "female" folder as "youcanthavetoomanypairsofshoes";)

OMG I'm not that organised, but I have a few subfolders and find stuff easily enough.

I am shocked that people have 55k in their inventory, I only have 3500.

I am surprised LL don't introduce a cap on inventory.

If they did people would create "Wardrobe" Alts and go on rampages when clothing makers used "copy no transfer".
