When reporting sandbox harassment, better to just report and ignore the assaulter?

Strife is doing a great job! B*** L*** (and his alt) is well know for these types of comments.

Just a shameless plug, check out the private sims. I know that the sandbox at Explorers Rangeland is extremely well managed and a great place to be, though I am only ever there in Aussie play timezone.

This seems rather off-topic and unfriendly.

Personally, I don't see why there cannot be "premium" areas in-world that only "premium" members have access to. Far and away the vast majority of griefers (as defined commonly) are unverified/unpaid accounts - and yes, they are almost all under-aged kids who do not belong in the main grid anyway. I've dumped several hundred dollars into this thing in the short time I've been a member, and let me just say that the experience as a whole has been grossly over-rated by Linden Labs in their brochureware.

EXAMPLE:

This is on the index page right now:

"Land in Second Life is your blank canvas. Build a dream home, a club, a shopping center, or plant some trees and construct a secluded retreat in the pristine virtual wilderness."

That is a complete load of shit. You have to purchase land from 3rd party private sim owners to get anything close to "pristine".

As regards the sandboxes, they are there for the purpose of giving residents a place to build, develop their skills, etc. They are NOT provided as an arena for griefing and combat. LL is really quite negligent in NOT doing something about this issue. It is patently unfair to those of us who PAY for the service to have them continually shrug their shoulders and say "all's fair, look isn't it great that everyone just can do whatever the f*^k they want? Wow! What a great world this is!" Until such time as I see they are getting the picture here, my dollars over and above the 9.95 will ONLY go to private sim owners, NOT to LL. The private owners are getting this right, and maintaining some order and civility over their domains.. LL has completely dropped the ball on this in every way, and it is ridiculously out of control. The mainland is one giant heap of trash. The sandboxes may as well be completely given over to the kids who can't afford WoW.

One last thought - Phil mentioned that alot of issues have to do with having limited staff, and it's great that it's being worked on - but please guys, read carefully the ideas in this thread - many of them can go a long way toward self mitigating certain issues in world. You cannot just allow this "anything goes" attitude to persist, and insist that ToS violations are being dealt with seriously and swiftly - Sorry, we're not buying it.

There's a difference between creating messes and cleaning them up.

This thread is messy enough. If you're going to attack him, at least do it in a thread where it's on topic:
