The thing is I knew how to do this, but as we all KNOW, SL is tricky and my sim is lag hell!! And clicking buttons dosent always work LOL
The lag was hell and before I could sell to the named person, AHEM...ME!! LOL lets just say I got screwed by lag, next thing I know it was sold. I had 3 ppl with me on my land and no one saw a bot. Yesterday I got an IM from another land owner on the same sim and the same thing happened to her, same day same time. I did IM the ppl who did this and got no reply, as a matter of fact the land was sold to another person. So I KNOW these land bot ppl got my IMs to plese return my land with an explination as to what happened and if not pls jsut pay me my fair asking price. I also reported them, hey I had to try right *giggles* what really.. really gets me, is I am a paid acct and the ppl with the land bot are a free acct gaining money without paying to play. No I have nothing against free accts, I used to be one LMAO! But I do have a problem with what I consider thieves. I know I cant name them, But THEY know who they are lol. I am more upset the I could not talk to a linden and let them know if the sim had not been lagging, I could have done this with NO Problem, as I have done it many times before. I got SL LOCKDOWN and paid dearly for it. Most of the time I embrace the lag, this time I got royally screwed by it....without dinner and a movie!!! PFFFFT!!

Contact support. If it was lag that caused the problem they may refund your money. PRovide as many details as possible.

Okay, say if I was feeling a bit bored... I could buy some firstland (Havnt purchased mine yet) make it damage, set it up to sell, pull out my shotgun and go 'skeet shooting' when the bots start flooding in?

Ohhh I need to try this.

Sadly the bot can buy the land from out of range and might be quicker on the draw then us humans. Thats why we need the death trap.

I don't really understand the problem with landbots. It's not like they force you to sell for less, or faster, than you wanted to. They're a blessing to anyone who really wants a fast sale and decides to slighly reduce the price to achieve it. I suppose there could be a 3rd setting in the "sell to" box, in between a named person and "anyone", could be "by negotiation" which means you expect to deal face to face with your purchaser. Not sure how you would implement the communication but once you have agreed the sale you change it to "sell to" theirname and the price you agreed.

Landbots are arguably barred under the TOS because their programs are not "substantially similar" to the Second Life Viewer, but unfortunately LL have taken no action against them so far.

Most landbots will not buy land on private islands. If there are landbots that do this, there are very easy ways in which the landbots could be bitten back.
