Did Frontier Linden give a reason why you would not recieve any help from the lindens in what seems like a grid crash caused problem? Did Frontier Liinden even bother to pull up any transaction info, check into anything? They have the ability to 'replay' what happened in a sim, they used to do that 'back when' in responding to ARs in the 'old days'. Did Frontier Linden give any reason at all why LL could provide no help in what seems clearly a situation where you were robbed by grid malfunction, something that they could easily confirm? Just curious why Frontier Linden declined to help you with something so obviously within LL's power to correct and within LL's responsibilty to correct.

And now you see why mainland is becoming wasteland.

Good Luck Stormy! I hope you get your land back before the seller sells it to someone else. I hate reading about these kinds of things and even more-so about LL's lack of help.

Please keep us updated, I really would love to see a nice resolution to this.

I mean I can really see this being gamed if the sellers find a way to crash a grid after a big sale and then getting paid twice for the same land...if LL won't help, why not?

No Breeze, nothing was done except to tell me to email support, and that it would probably be awhile since support is really busy. All further questions were ignored. There were actually 2 lindens on the IM session, Socrates, and Frontier. Socrates just logged off after awhile without saying anything, Frontier told me to email support.

It gives me a really negative feeling about Linden Lab.

I suspect that because there are financial transactions involved, neither Frontier nor Socrates would have been able to help you, thus the recommendation to go through support. If those guys had the means to help you right there on the spot, I've no doubt they would have. They are just Liasons, and I don't think they have the account access they would need to make the situation right.

The land owner you bought the land from wouldnt do the right thing, It seems?

I mean they were paid for the land already right?

A lot of people would have transfered you back the land since youd already bought it.

I have a strong feeling this will be resolved. Please let us know when it is. None of us should rely on Live help anymore. I think the moral here is to be patient.

There have been stories, though, of the sellers not getting the money even though it was transferred out of the buyer's account. So the money could have gotten stuck in limbo.

But it does sound like the seller wasn't very cooperative or sympathetic in helping the OP try to figure out what happened.

I do think everything will turn out okay in the end - it just might take a little waiting. Frustrating, I know.

Just to clarify, i do not know whether the seller got the money or not. When I asked her directly through IM, she didn't respond. When I informed her of my problem, she told me she still owned the land and TP'd away shortly after.

So yes, to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, perhaps she didn't get the money. But she also did not respond when asked directly.

to update, I have received an automated response through email saying that LL received my complaint. No resolution yet.

Linden Lab have the transaction histories on file for both residents and can see exactly what happened, what balance changes occured, and all the rest of it.

Pursue them in email, and phone if necessary.

Something similar happened to me last weekend with my land after they took the tier fee. The very next morning my land was "split" into being "MY LAND" and "group land". When I went to bed it was only group land and had the contribution points needed firmly in place. When I woke up they had charged me the correct tier fee of $40 but it said that my total for next month would be $75. I looked at my land to see what was going on, it had the parcel listed as my land. So I looked at group land and it was still listed as group land also but my contribution points had vanished and there was a warning that my property would be reclaimed if I didn't put in the proper contribution points..but go figure, I wasn't permitted to put those points in! So here I was being charged for 16000sqm of land use for the month while never owning more than 8704 (including the 512 given to me) AND being told that I was going to lose my land that evening! I contacted live help and was told to email billing on Monday. I will lose my land I repeated. I can't help you, you'll have to email billing. In desperation I sold the land to a friend who was willing to eat the tier fee just to get it out of my group land as I couldn't REMOVE it or ADD contribution points! She bought the land and low and behold it was still listed as MY land, no longer in group land but still my land and her land.

I finally managed to get Hermia Linden to come and reset the sim. Go figure, it was no longer in my land! So I bought it back from my friend and emailed billing explaining the sim was bugged and it was in no way my fault that I was being charged for 16000sqm land usage. After a few days with no answer I phoned billing and spoke with someone. After explaining it to her she says "you had no contribution points". Yes, and if I hadn't on billing day what would I have been charged? $75. Right, what WAS I charged? $40. Ok, so we've established the points were in group land and I only owned 8704sqm before I went to sleep and when I woke up it was all messed up. She says "as a courtesy to you I will reset your maximum land usage for the month" As a courtesy to me, no I'm sorry for doubting you, no I'm sorry for being condecending and rude, no I'm so very sorry your sim needed resetting and all you got for help was someone telling you to email billing in a couple days...as a courtesy to ME lol. I told her thank you for fixing SL's mistake as a "courtesy" to me but I"d rather you do it because the game screwed up and you are genuinly wanting to make the customer feel the sitatuation was corrected for them!

Seriously, good luck in getting your situation fixed. Hopefully someone will do you a courtesy also!

Stormy, have you tried something like the SLBB? They might be able to help you by talking to the seller of the land. It has now moved to a new location on Ethics Island I believe. Sorry if island name not quite right, but as can't get inworld, can't check.

It took 41 hours for my sim to get repaired. But they did repair it. I've had to learn and relearn patience here. I continue to have to learn it.

This is a problem caused by Linden Lab.

Even if I knew whether the seller received my funds (which I don't), I know it is not the seller's fault the sim went down & the land reverted.

I just thought it might be a way to get the seller to talk and sort things.

I know it's not the sellers fault the land reverted, but if I sold land and a glitch gave it back to me, I wouldn't keep it. I have had people buy items twice recently due to glitches and have refunded without them even asking, with land, no way could I keep it. The fact your seller has refused to even listen to you, makes it sound like they do know what is going on.

This right here is yet another reason that premium accounts should get some other benefit from being premium, aside from owning land. We need BETTER HELP! Criminy, we're paying for it.

Agreed..LL needs to start treating people like they are customers..this is terrible what has happend to you!!
Land transactions are not some small item to be dismissed like you bought an outfit..
i've never heard of a rollback or crash causing such a thing..If LL won't help you i would be looking for a source that they have to listen to or suffer some some repercussions if they don't..they have the ability to correct this or atleast investigate it and they are not..

It's a real shame they are getting too big for thier britches to act like a buisness..

sure they have over crowded complaint lines but is that anyones fault but thier own??
live help is only an afiliate of them a buffer for the small things..

they deal with so many people they forget we are people..
i really hope they get it together and fix your situation and any others like yours..
just think how many will spawn off this if that land does sell..

1 out of 5 million suffers??thats a real crappy attitude for them to have...
just hearing this makes me leary of buying land anymore..

How many times have you called? Have you gotten through yet? How many messages have you left? Is your parcel still for sale or did someone else buy it? I would be spamming every online Linden at this point, e-mailing every Linden I can find an e-mail address for, and continuing to request that the seller return the land.

I'm so sorry, maybe now that the big update is over they'll find some time for customer service. There was a blog post on Sunday about customer service being backed-up. Maybe they're still catching up.

so so sorry that this is happening to you!

Musicteacher, to answer your question, I have spent way too much time trying to get in touch with LL. Several hours at least. I would be better-served at this point probably to focus my energies on something more productive.

Like contacting a lawyer, if enough money was tied up in it. I really feel for you, Stormy. They have the proof of purchase and it doesn't take that long to process an L refund. I mean, my experience, it doesn't take that long to do a USD refund, so it shouldn't be that hard to do a simple L refund! (Not that we'll ever see LL do a USD refund...)

Stormy, contact Cyn Linden
04-26-2007 08:19
She's not only the Director of Customer Service but a good Linden as well. Her IM's may be capped but keep iming her daily. You might try email at cyn@lindenlab.com, also. If she gets your IM or email, I can guarantee you she will take care of it. She also has office hours in-world every Friday morning from 5 to 6 AM game time. I know this is a pain in the ass (been there done that) but once the right person gets your message, LL does respond. They simply need more warm competent bodies and minds to staff their Customer Service.
