Of course the money is gone out of my account and my tier fee increased. What should I do? I called Live help and Frontier linden told me that he could not help. I emailed support but have received no reply. Does Linden Lab care about their paying customers?

By the way, this is not a landbot issue. I purchased the land, and then the sim went down. When it came back up the land was no longer mine.

Is your land on the mainland ?

This is mainland. It is not on a private island. I do have the transactions in my account showing money was removed from my account.

There was a thread a little while back about a bunch of people who paid for land but the land didn't get transferred to them. Linden Labs corrected it overnight and credited their accounts. _____________________

If it's owned by Gov. Linden, they should be able to help, if there is a transaction history of the purchase. Good Luck!! ![]() |

The seller still owns the land, although I did own it long enough to join it all together. The seller showed up at the property and would not tell me anything except that she owns it. and then she split it back into pieces and set it back to sale.

It did show me who I paid. The same person who now owns the land. Who claims to know nothing and is re-selling it.

When you buy land, you should have two transaction numbers: the one for the money you pay, for whatever dollar amount that is, to the seller, and the next transaction should be a $0 transaction that indicates that the land has been transferred from the seller to you. Make sure you give LL both transaction numbers when you contact them. And send them copies of the chat you had with the landowner. _____________________

I did NOT set it for sale. the sim went down, and I no longer owned it when the sim came back. I am not allowed to post the transaction history here because that would be "naming names" and against the rules. If you know of some way where my transaction history helps me get my money back, or my land, by all means, feel free to share. |

I bought the land by clicking on the ground, the normal way you buy land. Not by transferring money to someone with a slightly differnt name, etc.

If you know of some way where my transaction history helps me get my money back, or my land, by all means, feel free to share. The transaction numbers are the only way (I think) that Linden Labs can trace that your land purchase actually happened. If you can give them the numbers, they can go into your account and the seller's account and verify that you did buy the land, and that the money was transferred to the seller. You'll probably have to sit on hold on the phone, though, since they're so slow on the support email. _____________________

Not by transferring money to someone with a slightly differnt name, etc. Abuse report and call to get a ticket number and call again when they open Monday. Sounds like a crash and rollback reverted ownership. Your transaction history and tier increase are your only evidence. _____________________

Live help already told me they can't/won't do anything. They declined to meet me at the parcel.
Support isn't open on Sundays. I will be on the phone with them tomorrow. |

LL can correct this, if it transpired as Stormy suggests. It happened to me, granted this was back in the telehub days of '05, but none the less, it happened. I bought a trac of land (I think a 4096) in Tiretta, the sim crashed about 15 mins later. When it came back up, it had reverted back to the previous owners. It took the grid monkey on duty to correct it and look over "things" (logs I assume). It took the GM on duty at that point another 3 hours to correct it, including taking the sim offline for that time.
It can be fixed, you need to stay on top of them, do not let too much time pass by, things like sim state saves, etc may only deepen the discovery of the issue for them to find it. _____________________

It sounds like what happened is you bought teh land, then shortly after, the server crashed and LL restored the sim from a backup made before the land purchase.

If you can't get through on the phone, the normal procedure is to send an email to support@secondlife.com with the amount, the sim name, the location of the parcel and the time of the sale (which you can get from the transaction history, along with the transaction ID).
Wait for the automated response to get the ticket ID, and leave an IM with Guy Linden along the lines of: [BAD PARCEL SALE] Ticket #xxxxxx |

sad situation

Did Frontier Linden give a reason why you would not recieve any help from the lindens in what seems like a grid crash caused problem? Did Frontier Liinden even bother to pull up any transaction info, check into anything? They have the ability to 'replay' what happened in a sim, they used to do that 'back when' in responding to ARs in the 'old days'. Did Frontier Linden give any reason at all why LL could provide no help in what seems clearly a situation where you were robbed by grid malfunction, something that they could easily confirm? Just curious why Frontier Linden declined to help you with something so obviously within LL's power to correct and within LL's responsibilty to correct.
