From: Najmah Handayani ummm let me get this...... someone scammed you in SL.... so its Lindens fault? May as well sue Ford for getting ran over by a drunk driver. heh linden labs is responsible for what goes on on their servers even if you dont want to admit it otherwise the recent issues over gambling and the various age issues (of which i have now lost count) would not have come to light this may be hard to believe but when it happens in your house or on your front lawn and you know about it or are informed of it and do nothing your considered guilty to .. Yes yes i know everyone has been brain washed somehow to think not but the fact of the matter its kinda not so cut and dry as that if it was then anything and everything would be going on all over the net and no one would bother doing any work to get rid of the issues because in all honesty most companies only want to cover their butts from getting arrested or sued cause patrolling everything is a lot of work so believe it or not if they are aware of it (and they are) they actually have some responsibility to do something about it and not just let it sit just like the gambling/casinos/illegal pron etc only difference is one is a criminal issue and one is a civil issue. Criminal issues require no law suits or anything the police walk in anda rrest you civil issues are a bit more expensive for users so they aren't gaurded against as much. Doesn't mean they dont have a responsibility to do put rules in place and enforce em just acuse they dont wanna doesn't mean that they shouldn't I remember having this same argument over the TOS and everyone said that well TOS is like "law" and it will protect well as you can see it didn't. What leads you to believe that TOS will absolve linden lab of responsibility and liability just cause it says so? They claim only 50USD worth of liability that they will cover well I hate to say it they can't put a number on liability issues and damages its not for them to decide or dictate so here we go again... very curious to see if the person is serious or just blowing hot air I always suspect sensationalists are just blowing hot air which is sad really those who are serious say nothing and just do it. Was gonna make a post about sensationalists but this was better just happened to be here but iw as wondering what people thought about sensationalists ONe thing i never would do is run and scream and post scam on a forum and crap like that or even go to media i just quietly gather all my "stuff" and then deal with it. /shrug

From: Tracy Welles I am 40 years of age. I've been on the web since it's introduction. And prior to it's introduction in the form of early BBS and communications. I also have a degree in technology. I would assure you that the web in it's right state and in it's infancy was a true democracy. I have participated in it's development since that time. I have also lived to see the the dictatorial demise of the web. Which as mentioned, will not be tolerated. *blinks* Umm.. right. This is soo helping the case! Linden's case, that is. You know, you should have quit posting after the first one right?

From: Tracy Welles Companies are not going to permit the fraud perpetrated on Linden Labs servers.
Our case will be known public and broadcast via the internet as to the land scam being allowed by Linden Labs.
I would accept an apology and the funds lost to be recompensed, but our company will not allow what we see within this corporation and we will take action legally.
Linden Labs will take a responsible position in fraud related charges or this community will hold them accountable in a court of law.
This is it Linden. Cerze Ophelia and Surbus Demontrond (online users within Second Life) will be held responsible as well. Your determination in protecting those that preserve your business with these scammers managing over 100 sims will not be left as it is. You will either respond, or you will confront my company in "OUR" state to represent yourselves in the matters.
Consider this your last warning:
You have been sent a documented 50 Abuse Reports on this matter. You will respond. You have been contacted by the president of this company. You will respond. We will not tolerate your "not accepting" telephone calls to Linden Labs corporation. You will respond.
Prove it? okay. No problem, and you WILL respond to the issues. One way or the other.
Thank you, Hoch Sim Protest Tracy Welles You might want to delay posting your legal notice for a week or two, in case you decide that your in-world suspension or banning for contravening numerous forum guidelines is worth suing them for too. * GUIDELINES link is at the top of the page.

From: Tracy Welles Which as mentioned, will not be tolerated. *notes that the OP's foil hat has become loose or unattached* According to the Terms of Service (which you agreed to): From: Terms of Service 5.1 You release Linden Lab from your claims relating to other users of Second Life. Linden Lab has the right but not the obligation to resolve disputes between users of Second Life. You might remember the Terms of Service as that document you agreed to whilst you were registering for Second Life.

From: Porky Gorky Im sure I read a few years ago that some woman sued Macdonalds and won because the coffee they served her was hot.... I hate it when people bring up that example. She sued because she needed to be HOSPITALIZED for Third Degree Burns! We are not talking 'Ow, it hurt,' we are talking about in-patient burn care and serious medical bills, which is what she sued for. I don't know about you, but when I spill coffee in my lap, I expect to go 'Owww owww!' and mop it up with napkins and then I'm done with it. I don't expect a serious injury. She won because her lawyers could prove that the branch in question had repeatedly been warned that they were serving the coffee at an undrinkable and potentially dangerous temperature, and they refused to change it. The continuing perception that she sued for an ordinary situation is a good example of why trial-by-media is bad. (Now, the burglar that fell through a skyroof and then sued, successfully, for his injuries, that's an example of the system going haywire.) None of this has anything to do with the current threat of a lawsuit, anyway, other than both of them being tort law.

Linden Labs is a service provider and is not liable for the actions, fraudulent or not, of any user of the service. Nor is a forum post the appropriate place to submit notification of legal action. Such notification would be handled by a certified letter, sent by courier with a signature of receipt required.
Your posts, while entertaining, make no sense at all due to the poor structure, that I can only hope, comes from not being a native English speaker.
As you provided no details as to how or what your company was scammed on. I would presume it was either land or a build. If it was land... well your company should probably have gone directly through Linden Labs to purchase your own island. If it was for a build... As a company you should have had a real life contract with real names if the sum of money was so great as to cause this much distress that you are seeking a lawsuit.
What it boils down to is whoever contracted with the supposed scammers failed to do due diligence and as a result they cost the company whatever money was lost. I'd think the company would be better off looking to that person for an explanation then to pursue a frivolous lawsuit against Linden Labs that will do nothing but cost more money.

At least this thread has brightened my day, and for that I thank the OP for that from the bottom of my heart.
