What amazes me is that Keith Richards is still alive.
About ten years ago my sis sent me a fake ad for the (then) upcoming Stones tour: "Rolling Stone Live! Plus Keith Richards." :p

Classic rock band The Scorpions indicated Monday that it is breaking up, an announcement that will come as a surprise to many who will read this and suddenly remember there was a once a band called "The Scorpions" - a group endeared to many as "that band who did that one song, I forget what it's called".

Honestly - who here can say with a straight face that they knew The Scorpions were still ALIVE, much less together as a group? The kicker is that the story actually made CNN:

Holiday was a good one they did.

Of course it made CNN, that legitimate news network, unlike Fox News. ;)

You're kidding, right? If CNN is so legit, then why is Fox beating them up in the ratings at like 5 to 1. You can't be serious. I already know your response... everyone else is wrong, and you're right. Personally, if CNN doesn't shape up and start reporting a bit more balanced view of the news then they're going out of business (along with CNBC).

The winky face ;) is a visual clue that someone is joking. Do you have them disabled?

Greatest Band which influenced more guitar players than all others combined.

You know that chick that used to dance a lot
Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got
Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot
I mean she was steaming

And that time over at Johnny's place
Well this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face
Man we just fell about the place
If that chick don't want to know, forget her

I've seen them, live twice. I have liked them since i was a kid. I knew they were still alive and still a group.

It's not a surprise if you are in the music scene and listen to 80's metal.

They were not a one hit wonder band, they had a lot of songs that made it.

I grew up with Scorpions playing in the house.

On this board, if you want people to talk a lot about the Scorpions and include extra delicious drama, post a link to the original cover art for their album "Virgin Killer".

Saw them a couple of years ago ... their whole set is just too rehearsed and perfect...

If you've ever had to sit through (or play in) badly and/or under-rehearsed bands be thankful that they were over-rehearsed.

Hey, some of us are old enough to not only remember them, but to have seen them live as well.

Now...GET OFF MY LAWN! :p

I remember them during the 80's =^-^=. Now it seems all that is on the radio and television is rap, instead of Rock N Roll.

Who didn't see that coming?

I'm not convinced that Keith Richards can die.

i actually think if he dies we all die..there is some strange force holding him here and i believe that he is the key to our existing today..
Long Live Keith Richards..the key to the survival of the human race..

But then again he has been mentoring this younger fellow for some time now..so we may still have a few centuries left

Keef does have that 'undead' look about him. And what's with that magnifying glass? Too vain to wear specs? Or too cheap to get a decent prescription? We'll never know! As for vanity, I'll bet Ozzie sends his missus out to the supermarket to buy his hair dye.

Ozzy looks younger now than he did in the early 70's when I frightened my parents with Sabbath. That's just weird. Well, I hear he works out. Good for him!

I once heard an interview with Keith Richards that cracked me up. Went something like this:

Interviewer: What do you think about your legacy and the fact that you have inspired and influenced so many people and other bands down through the years

Richards: [Long silence] Ummm . . . . eh. mmm - mmm ah. well . . . . eh. I play -- I play guitar.

Maybe because the majority of Americans like watching fluff?
