/me remembers i cant swear in here O M G ! ! Hell yes I am thinking I should ahve joined Fash Con weeks and weeks ago. While I have been sleepng more sales. I truely think i can attribute the bulk of the sales to fash con. I was very dubious about paying the 1000L before being allowed to send notices, so I had held off until now. But when I come back to like 15 sales overnight just while I was sleeping, and some of that my more expensive fat packs and my brand new jewellery set. This is wonderful. You see last week I ruined a load of washing. ALL my pale clothes are now pink stiped, and not in a good way. This accounted for 90% of my summer clothes, which left me with old T shirts and crappy shorts to wear. I felt like such an idiot. I took the money out of SL las week to pay for a few new items cos my budget doesnt stretch to a whole new wardrobe. This means I can buy a few nes things yippe I wont be naked for summer now (though i think my partner was excied aboutthat bit )

Felicitations E on all the sales!
Remember to send invites to all your friends and Store groups for ~Cheap Peeps~ That is the kind of results I envision- on a grander scale cause it will go to more than just folks that usually shop one type of store or item. Don't forget to spread the word to designers/creators you know too.
And get cracking on the Holiday stuff!! (/me tells me to!)

eeek sorry about your clothes..before you throw them away, try washing them with just the tiniest bit of bleach in the water. If some get ruined, well...they were ruined anyway. and you might save some. Red bleeds lol

Well, its official, since today is my tier payment day, I measure my profit monthly after paying tier. This months sales hit a new record low for me. 25% less then last month. Most of the decrease has been in this last week. Thanks to LL's OS pricing change I believe.

From: Ralektra Breda Re: the Trunk show, I have a group with no one in it except me and an alt, I'm thinking of setting my Romanenko land (if we use that) to that group once the store is down and ppl can join that group/use that tag to set up. Or, can make a new group if ppl think that is better like 'Trunk Show grp' or something bleh I dunno I'm thinking a very simple format, like a 4 or 5 hour event (trying to give it time coverage for UK and US) where we basiclly bring our box o'stuff, and giving everyone a set # of prims. Any feedback? and if anyone is interested in helping manage this please let me know because I overorganize everything I touch and get lost in details sometimes (I have 3500 items in my inventory! THAT is organization ) I'm very interested in participating in a Trunk Show. I'm more of a solo "overorganizer" as well...lol, so I'm not too much help in that dept. Will keep watching this thread for any updated info. Good luck on your Grand Opening. I plan to be there

Rah...I am sorry you having those issues...I used to work in a large company dealing with immigration issues and I know how upsetting it can be. I can relate....hubby is having RL surgery this week and it is happening two hours away, so kinda puts a kink in your plans when big things are going on.
Love the increase in sales by getting your names out there! GREAT WORK!
I also like the idea of a trunk show and might like to participate. Ive been around a bit less and will be offline for a few days later this week, so not sure when you are planning it to be held. If I am around, Id love to play!

OOps...meant to also say...
I still have experienced intermittent transaction failures, tp failures, groups not loading and search not loading this week. So, dont give up hope if you have had low sales. I still say those issues have more impact than people might think on whether people will venture out and make purchases.

ACK! try a cold water wash with just a tad of bleach. it probably won't get rid of the pink completely, but it might salvage one or two of the items. also, if there are 'just tiny spots' from red dye, wine or blood, try spotting it with hydrogen peroxide. edit: oops. someone else already suggested bleach before i got here.

They are HUGE pink stripes all over the items. Maybe one or two will be salvagable we shall see i guess hehehe. I certainly cant make them any worse than they already are. Ok something so must be in the water though cos I have been sitting here writting an essay (yeah yeah i know not very well if im on herre chatting) but anyway most sales I have go to my email cos of the vendor script i use. Well sales are sill popping up here and there today. It is a nice little boost. I am so glad to know that i have a little more money I can pull out of SL if needed. SOrry i know im harping on about it all. But well I have had a few financial issues this year and to be able to make a little money out of somethign i love and costs me no money is wonderful. Hheheh i know pulling out like 20,000L isnt much to some on this thread, but for me that was over $100 Aussie (woo hoo for exchange rates right now) which is like my food budget for a fortnight. Anyhoo it is making me want to get in word and finally organise the other stuff i have in my inventory to put in my shop (which is bad cos i have an essay to work on!)

From: 3Ring Binder is it just in the past 24 hours that you've really noticed the boost? There has been a small rasie this week (i suspect from the hunt) however in the past 24 hours I have made what would normally have taken me a month or two.

From: 3Ring Binder and didn't you just place a new landmark giver in a certain mall not more than 24 hours ago? Hehehehehe that i did but that also gives me reports when anyone clicks it and so far I think only one person has clicked it (who purchased too, so YAY and thank you). I do think the huge increase is directly related to the Fash Con group which has such a huge user base. I didnt expect to have such a big response though. Iguess i figured there are much better designers in the group than me and well a LOTof notices are sent out in that group so mine would probably get ignored, but it didnt

From: 3Ring Binder good luck. thanks for respecting my wishes 3 and not quoting my very personal post personally I think that was about the lowest thing anyone can do, very low and very tasteless beginning to feel like you are stalking me (and you called me psycho... at least I do not quote personal info from posts when the poster asks ppl not to)

From: Amaranthim Talon and- another thing I have been pondering.. Gift certificates... I hand them out let and right- doesnt bring peeps in and no one has yet returned on- how about u? Kind of in the same vein, I read on the forums awhile back (I think on the subject of profiles) that someone put at the bottom of his/her SL profile something to the effect of, "If you have read this far, IM me and you will receive a free item from my store. Seriously." (Paraphrased from memory) I thought that was a fun idea, so I did the same in my own wording. Had that in my profile for months and not one IM. Currently I offer a Class Discount to students taking my classes, good for any merchandise in my store. I announce it at the beginning of class, making note that the class materials includes a note card with the specifics. Granted, I've only taught about four classes since I began doing this but again, no takers. I'm going to keep doing this awhile longer, but I guess we each just have to find out what works for us individually and the customers we serve.

WE sometimes use gift certificates from my store or my partners at our club. These are generally redeemed. I think folks much prefer the automated gift certificate systems though. I personally do when i shop.
I cant use the gift certificate system though while i am using the permission script im using so oh well I will leave it as is for now. People can buy the transfer option from my store as gifts anyway

I have not retired anything, there are a couple things I need to update and rephoto for the ad but nothing gets retired... it just becomes a dollarbie
and people like the tombola, fun way to buy a dollarbie
tried gift certs, more work and hassle than they were worth for me
I like what you said once Amar... throw it all at the wall, and see what sticks
so if you are thinking of trying something... try it... life (SL and/or RL) are too short to wait

From: Eclectic Wingtips WE sometimes use gift certificates from my store or my partners at our club. This made me think of something else: Those of you who donate things to clubs to give out as prizes, etc. as a means of advertising: have you found that gift certificates, actual merchandise, or lindens are the most successful?

From: Czari Zenovka This made me think of something else: Those of you who donate things to clubs to give out as prizes, etc. as a means of advertising: have you found that gift certificates, actual merchandise, or lindens are the most successful? Czari - I found that direct giveaways work best. Right now I'm doing my birthday give away where I send everyone who has bought from me my newest animation set before I put it out for sale. It takes a long time to send out a gift individually to a few thousand people but it always drives up my sales. I have a freebie AO that people can pick up at my stores, but I rarely see someone who gets the AO come back and spend money on my animation sets. I also provide sets for events like BCAM auctions, while it gives me a warm fuzzy to see people paying for my stuff and the money going to a good cause, really I don't see much of an increase in sales from things like that. All - Okay now after two months of 50% below average sales all of a sudden in the first four days of Nov I have blow past the last two months. If I keep going at the current rate I will double my best month ever. What's changed? I would like to think it was my birthday give away, but last year's only represented a 25% increase over the previous month, so I'm thinking there is something else driving people to suddenly start parting with their lindens after two months of holding everything tight. Any ideas?

From: Marcel Flatley Anyone knows if there is such a thing as Fash Con for furniture? My main problem after the move is that I of course lost my search ranking, and that is very clear in revenue. With a bit of time, I will correct that one though. As for advertising, I want to spend my lindens only on sensible things. Last try has been on the NCI Adnodes network, and it is still to early to tell how those work. But a network like Fash Con might be a wise investment as well. Anyone? Yes, there is a group called StuffLink which is for furniture and other non fashion content creators. IM me in world if you need help.
