Ralektra, did you send the group only script out on the Biz Network? I would like one as well please. I don't recall a notice on it (and not inworld atm to check) but then my mind has been really scattered lately.

Thank you very much in advance :)

my bad, I don't have it after all. I remember now that when I went on the scripting forums looking for it, I was told that I can just put the items in a prim and set it to 'share with group' and I was like um yea I saw that there but never thought of it lol

Low prices:

Someone once told me that my prices are too low and, compared with similar products available elsewhere, they are very low. But my thinking is that I'd rather sell 11 @ 100L than 1 @ 1000L. It works for me because I do sell a lot of items - hundreds every day, even on bad days.

The idea that low price = cheap quality is true in RL, but SL is different. There are no cheap materials in SL and what you see is what you get here. If it looks good here, it *is* good, regardless of the price.

There's another point about low prices too. People can easily decide to buy, even if it turns out not to be not quite right, because they won't lose much. I.e. they can be less fussy when buying.

A number of people in this thread deal in females clothes, and I think they are a little different because the quality in use can't usually be seen - only a picture is seen. People tend to trust the quality of well-known clothes shops but, if the clothes in a hitherto unknown shop are priced similar to those in well-known shops, they might not be as trusting of the quality. So low prices can help there. I'm not a clothes shopper so that's just my guess.

I have been told before that I am selling myself short, also that people assume it's not good if it is too low priced. Sometimes I let that influence me I think, on some level, because often when I make something I set it at a price then lower it later. While I don't want to cut my own throat, I do realize that I am still learning and learn something new almost every day. My stuff now is a lot better than my stuff before, because of what I have learned, and I have started to try to edge my prices up a bit. That may work, and it may not. It has always been my thinking that first you make a name for producing quality work, and then you start to raise your prices (as far as clothing goes anyway) and if anyone is calling me any names I haven't heard them!

*shrugs* i am told over and over again thatmy prices are so low that i could sell them for much more than i do. But i make what i make becuase i love it. I want everyone to be able to enjoy it, including the newbie who might only have 200L.

Everythign besides fat packs and one very intricate item and a colour change item are priced at 50L or below. For most peope they dont even have to think about it to buy my stuff and I like that. If they like it they will buy it.

I have never really thought about people not buying cos the price is too low. I am not like that, i think woo hoo bargain. I rarely spend more than 300L on an outift. Yes i am cheap i admit it! But with so much on the market why spend mroe than that when i can get it for less??

Well my sales will drop for a while I guess!

And I am happy about it :D At this very moment, I am in the middle of a move, so somewhere this weekend my store will be on my own open space sim! So there go all the picks, there goes the search all result, there go all landmarks. But for the better, as soon I will re-open on my own full region of space  And 3750 prims to decorate it as well, yay!

Greetings, Marcel

A very bold move. Are you keeping the current store open for a while?

I see people raise prices but I tend to lower mine still don't make many sales but
Friends were saying if I sale this newest creation in signature for 400L versus
the 30 to 50L I usually sale it will say it's better quality.
I don't know but I am extremely hard on my own work once it is in world.
I also heard if you sell for lower prices more people will buy but if no one is buying
or knows about your work, or those that know don't buy it doesn't matter what the price is.
Put one of newer things here for those who want to see who don't see signatures.
I don't like because the detail of pattern some how has changed.
Any way I sort of got to point it doesn't matter if people buy things I make
as long as I enjoy making them and the challenge of figuring out how
to improve whatever I am doing and producing the best I can.
Still sometimes would like to figure out why certain designs don't turn out
the way I wish but I figure it come in time with enough practice.
I don't know I think price really matters if no one is buying.
It could be 0L and if no one bought it for 0 no one would buy it same
way if you had set over over 0 and no one bought products that you designed.
Thing is just maybe, there isn't enough people buying things to buy every designers
products. Or maybe not I don't know.
Photo totally sucks I couldn't get a better quality imagine even at highest setting.

Nope the Sim I am on is going to be split in four pieces. But I was on #2 and I will get back at #2 in Search, if the picks do not too much harm that is. The decision of the split was pretty up to me, and I decided to go along with it. Indeed a bold move but I am sure its worth it :D

well now I know why my sales are down

on the freestyle blog, an annon poster decided to reply to a comment I made, in a post creamy was asking for feedback on regarding freebies

my stuff lack quality...

From: someone
Oh and Rhaorth, no offense but I've seen some of your stuff and I wasn't really impressed. I guess that might be a reason why your sales aren't going to well.

so apparently... this person stands by their word so much, they hide behind an annon tag when they posted to the comments, to pin point me, to say my stuff is unimpressive

so... now I know why my sales are down...

how about you?

(please insert sarcasm throughout the previous comments and the post will make a lot more sense)

I just don't know why they decided to pinpoint me, in a blog post that had nothing to do with why ppl are making sales or not... and why they are hiding...

I am suspicious of who it might be, but no proof

thanks phil and jojo

sadly it did hurt, but not because they did not like my stuff, I know we can not please everyone

but because they chose to do it in such a tasteless way, and to hide while doing so. Very very low, why not just come forth and disclose who they are? Probably because then it will show folks what this person is really like.

speaking of new stuff... got a pair of boots coming out, THEN I will be working on some custom stuff

I wouldn't think that something like that could do much damage, it's an opinion and you know what they say about opinions, they are like a nether part of your anatomy.

Congrats, Marcel!!

That is exciting! Please let us know when your new store opens. (I don't think I've been on an open space sim yet, so seeing one will be fun too.)

Hi Klyks

Just wanted to say that I recommended someone to your store when they were looking for fog hehe, I was there at the same time, and watched them wander around, hopefully it got you some sales.

PS I LOVE that big thing outside... the one with the little stars that come over it... (forget what it si called) have it outside my store, just need to decide what to put on it LOL)

I wish I knew how to do the particles like you do, very nice work and so few prims too.

What a total ass- if you don't like something don't buy it and if you have something to say have the face to stand by your comments. Worthless opinion, Rha- while I am sure you -like everyone else- has at some point made something not up to your standards- (I thinks it's a given none of us walked in knowing) your stuff is way cool and of excellent detail and quality - I love my body jewels and still wear them to rave reviews ;)

Some points...

My sales have been low the last 2-3 days also, but I have seen that some transactions of my own are timing out, not goign through etc. Not sure if this is happening to others, but if it is, im betting that is the source of the lower sales. People get nervous about spending money when transactions are messed up.

About pricing....this is a hard one...I tend to have items in my store at all ranges of pricing and they tend to be on the low side esp for one prim things. I figure someone wo needs 8 sets of curtains should pay more than someone who needs one, so my items are always no copy, but i keep the price down to make getting 8 more reasonable.

I also have gradually increased the prices on certain items as I have added more expensive textures, scripts and more features. This seems to work well. I also have to charge more on some items that include others' animations because I am not allowed to sell my items below their prices. I would prefer to sell mine at a lower price, but in these cases it has been ok. Some of these items include bits n bobs and pillow talk full perm animations and poses and we know they dont sell their own stuff cheap. LOL

Things of mine sell in all price ranges and I think for me that is a key point. With such a wide range, someone on any budget can come into my store and purchase something. I really hate going into very high priced clothing stores where the only things they sell are 1200L and up for a giant fat pack or outfit with lots of pieces. Sometimes I just want the shirt...LOL.

based on recent fallouts, i want to say that 'just in case' you are thinking this is me, it's not. for one, i don't post anonymously. i stand behind my beliefs and words. secondly, i don't go around stalking people and annoying them. my time is too precious and no one is that worthy of my energy. thirdly, i think you make great stuff. i have no reason to state otherwise.
