Ooooo and thank you aswell JoJo, youve been a great help yourself with yout tips and advice and even your sim ![]() Oh by the way guys, i'm in the process of making something for you all. Just my little way of saying thank you. I'll send it too the group soon. Hey Rha, when do you need my gift for the hunt hun? Hugs Rhianna xx you do not send it to me hon, I will be sending out a sign, and the lm's to the next location in the chain, to each sponsor who sent me their lm that should be ready early next week today is the cutoff for new sponsors so as long as you are on the list, and sent me your LM, you will be in the hunt, and you will hide the item at your own place, in the pumpkin that will be provided _____________________

Glad you have lots of participants for your hunt ![]() no worries amar I see it as a great way to get folks (a great assortment of folks) to the stores in the chain plus it will be fun for those who do enjoy hunts ![]() (got some bigger names in SL as well as lesser known places, so all in all, I am pleased with the results) heck I never expected this many folks, I figured maybe 10 or 15 NOT nearly 100 LOL _____________________

Wow Rha! That's so exciting! I remember when you and I talked a while back you had maybe 30 at that point...how fantastic that it has grown so big. Kudos to you for taking it on...and many, many thanks as well!

I wish I didn't miss this thread when it was first started! I skimmed a bunch of it and it's nice to see people offering constructive criticism in an area of SL that's REALLY hard to break into now.
Just wanted to add two (older, maybe out of date) blog posts that might help people starting to think about marketing: http://alaskametro.blogspot.com/2007/01/10-cheap-or-free-things-you-can-do-to.html http://alaskametro.blogspot.com/2006/08/public-service-announcement-bad-design.html (also in that post is a link to another designer's post on the same topic, also full of good info) I also wrote an article on branding for fashion in Second Style but I can't remember the issue number. ![]() |

I suppose I shouldn't be such a stick in the mud and you are going thru so much trouble, Rha- OK- count me in- I will send u the LM - is it to the store itself or to where the actual item will be hidden? even though cut off was friday, you can jump in. just get the lm to me before monday as I will be sorting it all out then the lm should be to your store, which is where you should be hiding the item (in the pumpkin I will send you) any item created by you, as long as you set it for 0L is acceptable I will drop a notecard on you arma when I am in world again, outlining the basics of the hunt so you get an idea put the lm in a folder, name the folder with your name, then drop it on me, so I know who has sent lm's desiree yep amazing isn't it hehe to anyone that is reading this thread and is in the hunt, please make sure the lm's are dropped on me in a folder with your name on it, otherwise you will not be included OH! Amar, do you have the ability to check hippo groups online, if so you can get the info notecards from there, I have added you to the group (mailing list) _____________________

Moving is Hard!!!
10-18-2008 12:58
taking into account and using all the great tips given here for moving store, especially Phil! but whew still hard work!
The new store is up and stocked, the old store will remain in place for some time yet, while we make the changeover. (I have had a sign up showing what my prizes will be for the gridwide hunt, to avoid confusion I will still be doing the hunt at the old location). So far I have changed all the LMs in the satellites, then I looked at Xstreet and OnRez and omg, I have to put a new LM in every box and edit the slurl on every ad! /cry I love the new store tho, the slurl is in my sig if anyone wants to check it out. _____________________

CONGRATS! and best of luck! i won't remember to come find this thread, so would you be willing to drop me a LM inworld? i'd love to see the old/new both and would much appreciate the ease of some LM vs a slurl. thank you in advance, assumptions firmly attached. Asking because I'm still debating if I should sell off a great part of my land to lower tier costs and start small (which then would likely mean buying back the land *if* it were for sale at a higher cost *if* I needed the prims)...or moving to another locale... OR...keeping the land I have now and growing into it. (What I pay in tier is not big money for most people, but takes a chunk out of my income). Gratz on your move ![]() _____________________

well here's the thing Czari...I got incredibly lucky. My partner was gifted with a 2048 a while back by a friend who was just going to abandon it otherwise. We went for a walk one night on the Linden Highway (we do that sometimes) and came up on some stores for rent, the big nice prefab ones. I fell in love with the polish and professional look, and shopped around a bit for prefabs but couldn't find one that would fit on our current parcel. So I decided for fun I would try to see if I could build something. I did, and it was too big
![]() ![]() ![]() 3 I will make a note to pass some LMs to you when I get in world. _____________________

It probably depends on whether or not you *will* grow into it. I was similar to you in that I had more land than the store needed when I started it. It was a spare 8k that I wasn't using so I started the store on it. I walled off a 1024 piece for my small number of items, so that it didn't look empty. I kept making more things and pushing the walls back to accomodate them, keeping the place looking full. So the answer to your question is down to whether or not you will be adding more and more things to make it worthwhile having the space available for them. And that's the rub...I truly don't know at this point in time. I currently own 5104 sqm with me and an alt both premium to get 1024 without tier. The land is a very pretty water sim bordered by two protected Linden oceans. I purchased the land when it was VERY low in price. There is a lot of land currently for sale on the sim but the lowest priced one is about 3x what I paid for any of my plots, so I'd hate to let mine go then need to repurchase them at higher prices if needed. The other thing is our home is on the land as well, so if I sell off some land, less prims to share between the house and the shop. Ah well, just talking out loud here. _____________________
