now i'm getting confused ... YOUNG MAN, There's a place you can go, I say YOUNG MAN.... Yes, sorry Wilhelm. But if you are actually using the outfit for constructing, you might have a fighting chance. Then again, you are probably wearing something other than just the hat and the tool belt.

From: Wilhelm Neumann oo I'm a village idoit does that count? Idiots are people too so, yes. EDIT: Regarding certain av's certain body parts above and regarding construction worker outfits I believe we're skating around a word that needs to be uttered....SLippendales! EDIT: To the OP, I guess it's up to you to decide to what level you want to cede the high ground. I'd vote for let it go. SL's a big place...lots more to do.

From: Colette Meiji OUCH Was there really a need for stereotyping here? Hey, why not RP a stereotype? This is SL, after all, you can be whatever you want to be here! Yes! More stereotypes! Lavender panties FTW! Duck and shuffle, and lines like "Feets, do yo' stuff!" Or: Gonna bitch-slap yo' bitch! Now get out there and make me mo' cash so I can deal mo' crack! Gorean Master: I want what I want when I want it! Ageplaying juvenile female: You'll get what I've got when I get it! Tokyo Rose: Hi big boy, who's the fat cat Jewish banker who's making time with your girl back there in the States while you're out here attacking peaceful Japanese people? John Wayne WWII movie: You dirty yellow Japs! I'm going to make you pay for this! Sieg heil! Fair damsel: Oh! I am shocked by your importunate advances, Sir! (Swoons). Mustachioed white male (it's always a white male) villain: Muhuhuhahaha! White man speak with forked tongue. "I am so PC that anything you say will prove you so hopelessly morally inferior to me for the rest of your life that you might as well just give up and die, but please don't, because I want to continue feeling morally superior to you." Hey baby. Do you come here often? What's your sign? Wanna f___? A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle. Is there anyone I have not offended with these stereotypical statements? If so, I deeply apologize. It was an unintended oversight, I assure you! Please post your neglected stereotype here and I will do my best to generate a suitable response to it. (Seriously, we all have to get beyond this sort of categorical, ideological thinking.)

Oooo okay as for the homophobia *scratches head* I would think abuse reporting all the im's will work if you keep doing it and then after your tired of that using the ignore feature If LL does anything you wont know unless you can decode their police blotter. It looks to me like you got banned for complaining which is stupid anyhow but you can't prove you got banned for sexual orientation. Also SL is growing and putting what I would call sensitive first life information in your profile is probably not the wisest thing to do. Its like me putting that I'm a jew in my profile or something it would just invite the people who hated jews to plop those swastika spamming htings on my lands so I dont put any first life info in my profile. I have a photo of my real cat up there .. that's about it.. cause the photos were cute and I wanted to stick em somewhere where people would see lol

From: Victorria Paine [...]But at the end of the day, Midian could elect to exclude LGBT people completely -- there is nothing in the TOS that prohibits this. It's how the lesbian venues are allowed to exclude all male AVs, for example. [...]
Yep. I should know. Had some piddly little place like that decide to toss me after I followed my (legal) 'sploder HUD's message and got ready for the next burst. Damned buncha misandrists didn't even wanna give me a refund, either. Had to go to the owner to finally get stuff straightened out. To the OP: Sounds like you wanna go in there and act like a faggot 'cause they decided to boot ya. Well, tough. Either every place is open to everyone, or places can be closed off to certain groups. Anything else is rank with hypocrisy, so just man up and live with it.

From: Chaos Bikcin so im gonna go and cause a bit of trouble myself, just to keep the balance in the middle Obviously you are a person who thrives on drama. Based on this comment and your vague description of what occurred I can only conclude there was likely a legitimate reason to ban you. While bigotry occurs and gays and others do get banned for the wrong reasons, drama queens are likely to be banned more quickly. Go ahead, have your thrill. Get your drama filled adrenaline rush. Enjoy your time off after LL bans you.

Homophobia in Midian? Riiiight.
09-18-2007 15:07
Okay, most of you won't know me but I'm the Catwalker Leader in Midian itself and also an Admin.
Homophobia in Midian might exist, but it would be something strictly to few people and very much not tolerated in the long run. (I've threatened to ban and have banned many rude people for impolite etiquette out of character that's not in the least bit necessary.)
You aren't banned from Midian for being gay. You're banned for being a griefer or rule breaker.
Second, Catwalkers? Not homophobic. My second in command to the gang? He's gay. His boyfriend and his rodent friend are both, gay. There are a ton of lesbian and bisexual felines in my gang as well including the fact that my charater, Rith, has once had a girlfriend officially in Midian.
So that just doesn't really work for an argument?
Chaos, if you have a big huge issue. You need to talk to -me- about it. Not badmouth a sim because you've assumed the rule you were removed was 'because you were gay'. You can't point the finger at accusing a whole group of people as Homophobic jerks when you don't know the whole story yourself.
My second in command and various other gay people are best and close friends with me. I wouldn't trade them for a world of gold or godlike powers. So I'm definitely not homophobic and none of my cats can get away with insulting people ooc. (IC, within reason and to the personality of their character, it may happen. But that's like writing a book. Just because a book has some rudeness to gays, doesn't mean we burn it. Its just literature.)
If you WERE unfairly treated, I'd be happy to talk to you Chaos. If I don't hear from you at all? Well, I can't very well do anything, now can I?
Midian is a good place to play. I've been there for months. Don't let one person's sour view ruin it.

From: Avion Raymaker And what kind of gay male avatar are you, Chaos, if you're wasting time in role play, when you could be shopping for clothes and body hair, clubbing, trying on construction outfits, checking out Bradley's ass, etc.? He can check out my ass all he wants, but I wont be looking back. My standards may be low but I do have them.

Given the seemingly substantial interest among straight men about lesbians, if men were *not* excluded from these places, there would simply be tons of men there ogling the "OMG LEZBIANZ", which is not what women go there for. It's important for owners to be able to exclude people, in my opinion, to create spaces that are "safe" for what they wish to take place there.

From: Calveen Kline Hm, what is RP and what does it involve? RP is short for Role Play, where you take on the role of a charecter, some people think of second life in general a roleplaying game, well in soem cases it is, but you have no limits or set themes like in other MMORPGS (massive multiplayer online roleplaying game)

From: Avion Raymaker Okay, sorry, I thought maybe I should put in the disclaimer that I'm a gay male too, but thought it would ruin the humor.
But if you read some of my other posts around here, you will find that I am one of the "gayest" avatars in all of SL, construction outfit and all, so I though it was okay to poke fun.
Again, sorry if anyone was offended.
-Avion Gay or straight, I don't think it was necessary to make a disclaimer at all. I found it funny. Others comments that this probably wasn't the best thread for it makes sense, but still funny.

LL is not Homophobic.
