Seriously, nudity does not equal pornography. Artists have sculpted the naked human form in marble, painted it in oils, and have captured it on film. It has also been used in scientific, sociological, and medical literature. Can nude avs qualify as art? Why not? Animation is considered an artform, and what are avs but animated figures? Many countries (the US included) have a sadly juvenile attitude on nudity. Hopefully that will eventually change. As for me; the day LL bans nudity on sims that allow it is the day I leave. |

The origianal inhabitants of North America certainly weren't concerned about showing their breasts as filthy as it appeared to Europeans. _____________________

It was Europeans who came later. The Pilgrims werent even the first Colony in the United states. They were originally from the United Kingdom but had to leave becuase of religeous persecution - it wasnt their religeon was too strict - it was their religeon wasnt the right one. Back then Europeans tended to kill people who werent the states offical religeon. The Settlements in New England were not even completely Puritan. They were just governed by the puritans. It wasnt long before immigration from Europe made the puritans a minority in their own colony. The Puritans werent homicidal any more than other Europeans. The ones they killed were Native Americans, which was a common European Colonization Practice. And the witchhunts of course. Also something that happened in Europe. During those times, it was the Calvinists who were homicidal, they stayed in Europe - the ones who started the thirty years war. Course the Catholics were pretty much Homicidal as well. Bloody Mary, and of course No one expects the Spanish Inquisition. It might be interesting to note the Strictest religeon in the United states comes from Germany. The Ammish - who still live the way people did in the 1800s. Though they live here, They arent really involved in the countries' affairs. Its not the puritans that are the source of any resedual sexual repression.
You can blame Victorian England for that. They were the dominant culture in the world and they exported those values all over. The US simply has held onto nudity rules longer. But realisitically its not much fabric that seperates us from Europe in our popular media.- a couple inches here and there, tops .. Evidently they dont get American Rock Videos in Europe. |

If I want to sunbathe naked on the roof terrace of my home or dash down to the creek for a quick skinny dip I don't think that is 'adult content'. l live in a 'mature' sim and there is a sex shop (not mine!) with naughty pics next to my place and down the road is a clinic where they seem to offer medical examinations!

From what I understand, that strip of pics on the Blog is a random selection of SL-related pics that people dump on Flickr. So if someone dumped a bunch of XXX Kiddie Porn in Flickr (under an anonymous account), it just might get displayed on the official Blog. Of course, Flickr would take the pics down before very long... and the pics do change with every refresh. Still, I think it is a bad idea for LL to display pics on their blog that they have no control over.

Kinda funny that someone from Germany is taking digs on another county's history of leadership. The same county that's against cartoon kiddie sex between to adults. I wont even go into the homicidal leadership comment. I'm not the one implementing age verification and dividing SL into Adult and PG content LL is. I'm merely seeking clarification. LL is not concerned with AV nudity on their blog so will it be ok in the non-adult areas of SL? _____________________
